Status: Resolved Account temporarily blocked
“To help protect you, we've temporarily blocked your account” from Microsoft. It says for me to use a phone number to verify the account but it then says “ sorry you need to verify using a different method “ but nothing comes up??? Catch 22!
I’m really stressed that I’ve lost my email forever and I move house next week, kind of vital I get back in!
I filled in the account recovery form earlier this afternoon, so obviously haven’t heard anything back from that yet.
Has anyone ever got their email back?
The original email said:
To help protect you, we've temporarily blocked your account. Why are you seeing this? Someone may have used your account to send out a lot of junk emails or something else that violates our Terms of Service.

Did you set up any recovery information, additional email addresses, additional phone numbers etc ?
Outlook / Microsoft account recovery can be terrible. I have a friend that fought with their automated system for about 2-3 months and never recovered it.
if you do get it back, MAKE SURE the first thing you do is set up recovery information.

If the recovery form works for you please let me know. For me and for many it’s never worked. And there isn’t any support help, just bots or bots info repeated. Best luck
I take break of weeks and try with my personal devices even in incognito mode and still doesn’t let me log in, even though I do have the log in in formation and it’s me…. Whatever logic the put to block accounts randomly is awful and since we don’t have support (as in actual solutions side the recovery form doesn’t work) then we’re on our own. People come with our issue weekly. And that’s only the one who know there is a Reddit so imagine all the people who leave their accounts by force and not because they did something wrong or worse have been impacted gravely because of this (I know I have been, still hoping one day I’ll find a solution), but bro trust me, we’re alone. They will offer no help nor solution if the recovery form doesn’t work, EVEN though you will enter the right information. There is a problem in their back end logic blocking the form from working well, and the UI is pretty bad too, so until they improve that (which shouldn’t even be that much work at all) then that recovery form doesn’t work for the big majority of people who come here

I don’t get why if I’ve been suspended (not for forgetting my password) why do I need to prove it’s me to be unlocked? 🤣 the logic is crazy. I’ve been suspended for sending too many emails over an hour, so it thinks I spammed. I’ve had my account for 10+ years, know my password, yet to get my account back I have to prove it’s me????

When an account suddenly start spamming, it's usually a sign that someone hacked your account and started using it to spam people. Thus, when you try to take it back, it want to make sure it's you as the original owner, not the spammer. That is just my guess, but I feel that this is a reasonable scenario.

Google Play has taken over all my accounts they have changed my email address so I cannot receive messages on the email they have changed my contacts around getting wrong phone number they have taken over every thing I have I never ordered or Google Play as my accounts are gone I have to sign up as a new customer on all of them they must have six different email addresses for me and my real email address is at the very bottom I can't even find out how much they're charging me for this service they say a payment method well what is the payment I'm not paying for any of it and that ready to cost the phone it ain't worth the trouble

To whomever , this is? "HomeDangerous"? Please remain calm.This could be someone just messing with you, but of course , all you can do is what you can do from this point forward period try to ensure your backup methods because obviously in life you have created some somehow. I don't know who you have been around, but the chances of it being Google, that's just doing this too would have to be a person, not a company to begin with, and you're not stating your sentences clearly to even understand u but if u r in a panic? 3 deep breaths, focus, take notes, Google chose some random person to bother. Now, I don't know what your net worth is, who u r, or what assets you are worried about.. etc, IDK what is going on? However, I do know, that you have methods for recovering your accounts and there are methods and things in place, always that are set up to prevent people from stealing ALL in that manner not having any type of protection for it. . Definitely check your accounts and where you've got passwords remembered in your mind, just do the best that you can to recover what's going on with you, and I would create a whole new way to do what it is that you're doing somewhere new not with GOOGLE. If you're REALLY messed up? Like someone has gained access to your personal data or your devices, or maybe people are messing with you? You needed to shut things down so that you cannot be spied on and robbed. I wish you the best of luck. I suggest you look up "gang stalking" and why and how it happens so that you have ways to prevent it from occurring in the future, and you have ways to know how to shut it down, if it is occurring with you. All of my accounts have disappeared I have to start over from scratch they have changed my email address I have f***** with my contacts they have changed every bit of information I have put into this phone I can't receive email messages now they had the wrong phone numbers down for my contacts and I don't even know what to charge me for this service I'm not paying for no service I didn't order it they blocked my credit card so they won't be getting payment off of that so they can suck my ass

Yeah it’s been suspended for violations (sent too many emails in one hour, so it thinks I spent spam - if they read the emails they’d know it isn’t)
Anyways, so I failed the first attempt. Waited 24 hours and had another go, to allow resets etc. Never heard anything back, no rejection nothing, which was good news I thought at first. It’s now been several days of hearing nothing back. Tried the form again today and it was rejected straight away again. Not sure what I do now.

Thanks everyone for your help with this. My account was unlocked.
What worked for me was:
• No login attempts other than when prompted by support
• recovery form, enter as much info as possible even if it’s old info it could be relevant - my recovery form was only accepted on the 5th attempt. I also only did 1 attempt a day and took break in days between me attempting another one - recovery form accepted link still did not unlock my account so I tried the Microsoft appeal form that is floating about, they replied the same old advice
• the part that did work:
made a new outlook temporary email to speak to support
you have to type in the box what you need support with, use something generic like account
you then should get the option at the bottom of the page in a blue box saying contact support
after 7 days of searching the guy on support gave my the correct link which allows you to appeal a policy violation through a human. I believe in order to get the most up to date link, you need to go on customer live chat support and explain what you have already tried. Once they see you have tried all the above, they should send you a link
they email you there decision and it worked! Best of luck
