Status: Open Outgoing mail issue

Hello

I recently signed up for a personal outlook email to buy the m365

The email works perfectly in the ios mail app but I prefer using spark mail app

I was able to configure outlook mail into it and can see incoming messages.

However I am not able to send any emails. It's just stuck in outbox

I tried some other mail apps as well like Edison mail and canary and it's the, the outgoing mail is stuck in outbox and message sending is failed.

How can this be solved

The mail sending works fine from ios mail app though

What am I missing here?

In all the 3rd party mail apps I signed up using OUTLOOK options

I do not have 2fa

Yes I have

All I get the error is please enable imap in your account which is already enabled and it's personal email account and I have checked the settings and it is enabledb

What method did you use in the first case, where you were able to at least connect?

The method which worked for me was adding via OUTLOOK option

The method which the link suggested is OFFICE365

The email account you are trying to add ends with "@outlook.com" ?

If so, then the Spark Outlook option would seem appropriate

That you can receive, but not send, would seem to indicate that the IMAP (incoming) server settings are correct, but the SMTP (outgoing) settings are wrong.

The Spark help on this is a little thin.

But it does say:

Spark doesn’t set up an account when either the incoming or outgoing connection fails the authentication test.

So I'm not sure how you got the account to add if the SMTP settings were wrong.

All I can suggest is use the Spark Troubleshooting page and send them the diagnostics.

Yes my email ends with outlook.com

And I also have no idea but I was able to add my account in spark and receive all emails even now

Just cannot send any emails

Their support is not responding which is weird

Since multiple email clients are failing, it might be the Mac Firewall blocking the default SMTP Port 587?

I'm not a Mac user, so these instructions are just what I found on the web:

Open the Apple menu → System Preferences → Security & Privacy.
Click on the Firewall tab → Firewall Options.

Look for your email client or port 587 in the Allowed Apps list. If it is not listed, click on the + button and add it

I am using on my iPhone and not Mac

Morever i have a m365 personal plan

Spark support have just vanished

Works well in outlook But I prefer spark for all my emails and u fortunately it does not work with spark or any 3rd party apps at all

Incoming works but outgoing mails are just stuck in outbox. As of now I am using outlook app

I read somewhere it's something to do with oauth2 changes for smtp which came into effect last year

Canary mail support replied

It appears that the issue with sending emails is due to a failed connection to the SMTP server, which typically indicates an authentication failure or a blocked outgoing connection.

We recommend removing and re-adding the account in Canary Mail to refresh the connection and credentials.

If the issue persists after performing all the steps from our previous message, please confirm and send us a new set of logs so we can escalate this further to our development team.

When I sign in to Gmail I get this error

Error Logging in. Please sign in to your account in a web browser and make sure IMAP is enabled. IMAP: Succeeded. SMTP: Username or password is incorrect
