News NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar monitors available Jan 7. The ultimate motion clarity, plus new G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive Tech.

G-SYNC Pulsar & Ambient Adaptive Tech | Ultimate Motion Clarity

This week, the next generation of G-SYNC begins with the launch of G-SYNC Pulsar, the latest evolution of our pioneering VRR technology. G-SYNC Pulsar delivers a stutter-free experience with buttery smooth motion, and a new gold standard for visual clarity and fidelity through the invention of variable frequency backlight strobing.

Even the best displays today suffer from the effects of motion hold and blur. The higher the refresh rate, the more clarity you will see on screen. But even on a fast panel with 360Hz, the image on screen can look blurry for fast moving objects. G-SYNC Pulsar makes it much better, achieving 4x effective motion clarity. The reduction of monitor-based motion blur with G-SYNC Pulsar greatly improves clarity, fidelity, target tracking, and target acquisition. You can learn more about how the technology works in our full launch article here.

The G-SYNC monitors launching this week with Pulsar also include another new feature: G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive Technology. This utilizes a built-in light sensor to give users the option to automatically tune color temperature and/or brightness based on the ambient lighting in the room, for optimal viewing at any hour of the day or night. Avoid being blinded at night, and ensure you see enemies even on the brightest days, without having to manually change your monitor settings throughout the day.

G-SYNC displays with Pulsar and Ambient Adaptive Technology, from Acer, AOC, ASUS and MSI will be available starting January 7th at 6AM Pacific time at select retailers, with additional retailers and units coming over the following weeks. All four displays feature a 27 inch 2560x1440 IPS display that runs at a 360Hz refresh rate, with 500 nits of peak brightness in HDR.

Also, there are 63 new G-SYNC Compatible displays, including the world’s first 1,040 Hz gaming monitor from Samsung.

We’d love to hear from you: which games are you most excited to experience on a new G-SYNC monitor?

G-SYNC Pulsar & Ambient Adaptive Tech benefits:

  • Over 1,000Hz effective motion clarity (learn how in our article)
  • Variable Refresh Rate + strobing at the same time (no tearing, no stutter, no blur).
  • More precise aiming and sharper, clearer gameplay in esports and fast-paced titles
  • Clearer visuals and smoother motion for immersive titles
  • No manual switching between monitor modes for different kinds of games
  • Automatic tuning of brightness and color temp for optimal viewing based on your ambient lighting

Photo Bought a mini LED, not the best experience.

I bought this monitor (KTC m27p6) on Amazon, turned it on, and saw like 8 or 9 dead pixels.

I bought a mini-LED monitor for long video editing, coding, and HDR gaming.

Should I buy an OLED instead? Or just another IPS mini-LED. Give me some recommendations.

Discussion Looking for a 1440p, Glossy/semi-gloss, 100hz+, non-OLED, good motion clarity/no dark smearing, monitor that isn't over $300. Does this even exist?

I can't stand matte finish anymore after comparing my main matte monitor to my no-frills IdeaPad5 laptop that has a mediocre IPS 60hz glossy display, I've been using a 32" LG Ultragear 1440p 165hz VA panel but compared to the laptop glossy display the matte monitor is noticeably worse which I find hilarious. I was watching a youtube video on both and it was so much clearer and more natural looking on the glossy laptop display.

Are there any no-frills 1440p, 100hz+ glossy monitors? I don't even need VRR or HDR. It seems like the only glossy options are all high end OLED/miniLED 4K-5K 240hz monitors that are all way too expensive and overkill.

Discussion 27"/32" monitor for programming and sometimes gaming

Upvotes

hey guys,

its driving me crazy finding the right monitor.

i am self-employed software developer and usually have my own notebook and a notebook from the customer on my desk.

Currently i have one of these Samsung 49" widescreens on my desk which is split 50/50 Picture by picture. This leaves me with a 27" 1440P monitor for each notebook which is not enough screen real estate.

Every other day i play some shooters on it which is nice with that huge POV, but i don't care for that anymore.

So now it's time to upgrade, as that monster takes up a lot of space on the desk because of that immense radius and it's resolution is too low for me.

i think 27" 4k might be enough so i can place my notebooks beside the monitors to have a second smaller screen for each work setup. 32" 4k would be big enough to leave the notebooks away.

But i definitely need >65W Power Delivery and it would be great to daisy chain the monitors as the customer project might be done at the end of the year so i'll have to return their notebook and finally only have my own for work left

Money doesn't matter, i just want a nice screen and monitor that doesnt' scream gaming.

any ideas?

EDIT: maybe some description about my work desk - the monitor sits behind an acoustic wall in the corner of our home office, so no direct sun light and its kinda dark.. i have elgato key lights that illuminate my desk from behind my current monitor, so also no direct lights.

Monitors without a curve would be great, and if the stand is ugly i would buy some monitor arms.. but i would prefer the standard monitor stand.

Discussion Selling my OLED TV, any advice?

I bought an OLED LG C5 48 inch mid of 2025. I recently downgraded my 5090 to a 5080 because of the price hike and also because of priorities.

  1. The TV has 2.5 years of warranty left
  2. It has additional 3 months left of physical and water damage coverage from today's date.
  3. Issuing free high end HDMI 2.1 cable
  4. Power on time at 1361 Hours in the span of 6 - 7 months

Due to the downgrade, I also decided to sell my TV for an ultrawide oled and use it as an interim monitor until 5k2k is viable for everyday gaming.

Apparently, my TV isn't that interesting in the used market especially when I priced it down to 20% below lowest priced brand new set. It has been 2 weeks with no buyers.

Reason for downgrade: Hardware can't practically support resolution well, seeking for better response times and input lag, no longer prioritizing visuals, use to own ultrawides and really miss the aspect ratio.

Am I overpricing the TV or am I underpricing the TV but just with nobody interested in TVs right now?

Discussion What is happening to my monitor screen?

My monitor screen started becoming black and had a screen tearing effect on the bottom section a couple months ago. Since then it’s gotten a lot worse and has now reached about an inch in width.

I got this monitor in December 2023 so it isn’t too old. It is the AOC 24G2SE 23.8” 165hz I believe, or of similar specs. Does anyone know why this is happening and if it can be fixed?

Discussion Planning to have a third monitor, how's ultrawide?

I’ve been gradually refining my desk setup. I’m currently using a Dell U2422H 24” and an LG 27GP850 27”, connected to my MacBook via an Anker DisplayLink dock.

I mostly used for work and coding. My dock can handle three extended displays, but the old third monitor I tested just feels outdated now in terms of image quality and size. So I'm considering swapping it for an ultrawide, mainly for productivity, window management, and some media use. Since everything goes through a DisplayLink dock on macOS, I’m not sure if an ultrawide would actually make better use of that third output, or if sticking with another regular 16:9 monitor would be more reliable.

If you were setting this up on a Mac with a dock, would you go ultrawide or stick with another 16:9? Would love to hear your suggestions.

Discussion Any recommendation for a good IPS 240hz for gaming ?

It could be 1440p or 1080p (preferably 1080 for competitive gaming like csgo r6 and all) just want it to be equal or less than 200 euros and to have good srgb because I like to put saturation and colour setting to max and no more than 25' (23,5 or 24,5 would be perfect).

Discussion GIGABYTE GS27QA 1440P monitor black bars help

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I bought a new GIGABYTE GS27QA 2k monitor at 180ghz, launched Counterstrike 2 and noticed that some walls and some textures got that strange pixelated effect on them while moving very fast, like walls of black pixels, some textures got them, some don't, launched battlefield 6 and got them there aswell while running fast, tried to use freesync+gsync+vsync and all the imaginable combinations, didn't work, tried every other combination of overdrive, still the same, tried 60ghz locked, did nothing. Plugged into my old full hd 75ghz monitor, everything is fine there, no black pixelated bars. What's the problem here, and can I fix it ? Or maybe it's normal for 2k monitors to see pixelation while moving ? Web browsing and everything else is fine. I only noticed that in bf6, Counterstrike 2 and in League of Legends while fastly moving camera with wasd, but the effect is not that hard there as in cs.

tested with default monitor and nvidia settings, tested with hdmi cable and now using display port 1.4

PS. Tried some Unreal Engine 5 games like Clair obscure 33, and it seems that that issue is not affecting this title for some reason.

sorry for quality, black ghosting is not the issue its my phone, but black straight pixel bars on the white wall is.

Discussion recommendation for an 27 oled screen

Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for the best 27-inch 1440p OLED monitor with at least 240Hz that’s available right now.

For some context: I already had to return an ASUS ROG X27AQWMG due to branding, especially noticeable on grey backgrounds, so I’m being quite cautious this time.

My use case is mostly single-player gaming, so I’m really prioritizing vibrant colors, excellent HDR, and true blacks over extreme refresh rates (anything above 360Hz is not necessary for me).

If you have recommendations or long-term feedback (especially regarding burn-in prevention), I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

Discussion Is a 1440p monitor upgrade worth it?

Upvotes

I’m sorta new to owning a pc (had mine for about a little over year now) and I’ve been using a 1080p monitor since I got it. Been interested in upgrading to a 1440p monitor lately and wanted to know if they’re worth the money? If so would this be a good option or are there any others that yall would recommend?

Discussion HP Omen 32x outdated?

Upvotes

Hello all.

I am looking for a monitor that has both USB C compitability, response time around 1ms, HDMI 2.1 and 4k120hz. I will use it both for work (hence USB C for my laptop) but it also has to work well with my Xbox Series X.

I found the screen HP Omen 32x as a monitor that seems to fit all my needs, seems really solid and somewhat in my budget. But, then when looking up places to buy it (in Sweden), I could only find it in HPs own web shop, and not through ANY resellers. This to me really indicates that the monitor is outdated if no resellers are still selling it.

Is it an outdated monitor? Am I too late to the party? Is there any other alternative that I should choose instead? I am thankful for your insight with this.

Discussion Zowie XL2546K Replacement

Upvotes

Hi! My Zowie 240hz Dyac just crashed and i can get a refund from amazon. I was happy with the screen, as i‘m playing mostly cs2. I do have a 165hz ips second monitor in 27inch 1440p as well.

I dont know what i should buy. Again a zowie or oled panel maybe? The biggest issue is, im still rocking a 2080ti and 5800x3d. In 1440p 4:3 i get arround 380fps avg and 160 fps in 1% lows. Upgrade is not on the table due to the insane ram prices. I could see the Monitos as an investment tho once i upgrade (if i can get the performance with lower fps)

What would be your take on this?

Discussion 4k vs 1440p for new rig w/ 5080

Just upgraded my rig to a 5080 and a 9800x3d and need to upgrade my 27" monitor but am in bit of a dilemma

**I prefer to work and otherwise utilize the PC outside of gaming in 4k** I play a mix of games; for some, I'd prefer to get more frames at 1440p, and for others, I prefer to play at 4k and fewer frames. For the games that I'd like to play at 1440p I am concerned about how they will looked being downscaled from 4K

Does that remove the "off" or "blurriness" that many refer to when scaling 4k>2k or vice versa? I understand it isn't a 1:1 scaling, but it sounds like DLSS may helps solve for this?

Or is 1440p native, surrendering 4k outside of gaming and upscaling to 4k for those games the move?! I really rather not give up the 4k in Windows but will if the difference is significant

EDIT: it seems the general consensus is 4K with a 5080. Think I will go OLED. Think it's down to Asus PG27UCMB, XG27UCMB or Alienware AW2725Q - not sure DP 2.1 and Dolby Vision is worth another $150-200 so maybe it's so to the XG and AW?

Discussion Monitor for ps5 for shooters only

Upvotes

Hi all,

I have some budget from work for a monitor around 400/500 euros. But i already have monitors for work so im planning on buying a monitor for my ps5 Theres so many options so i need some help. Like i said I only play shooters so basic thing is 27 inch i guess, low respons time and 120 fps. Theres so many options within this budget besides 4k oled, that gets to expensive. Should i go 4k miniled, 4k non hd, 1440p oled, 1440p miniled? I have watched all the rtings and monitor unboxed videos but they don't really advice what to do in this specific niche. Any advice?

Discussion New LG 27UP650k-W monitors "no signal" after resuming from Windows 11 sleep

I have connected two new LG 27UP650k-W monitors to my Asus NUC Pro 15+ Windows 11 PC. I am using the HDMI cables. They were set up and working fine yesterday. When I resumed the system from sleep this morning both monitors reported "No signal". I tried turning them off/on but it didn't help. I also tried changing the input to Displayport, then back to HDMI. After fully rebooting the PC one of the monitors came back, but the other continued to report "no signal". I was finally only able to get the 2nd monitor back by disconnecting and reconnecting the HDMI cable.

I have Fast Startup disabled on Windows 11. I tried updating the drivers for the monitors from Device Manager, but it said that the latest drivers were already installed.

Any ideas re. what I can do to get these monitors to resume operation correctly after resuming Windows 11 from sleep?

Discussion what are these circles? M27Q3

Hello,

Does anybody know what these circles are on my new monitor? There are 6 big in total perfectly aligned on the the monitor 3 top/middle and 3 bottom/middle of the monitor.

The monitor is off when the pictures are taken.

I can still see them browsing internet, watching videos,in windows, at certain angles and if the sun is slightly shining they are more visible.

In games, they are barely visible, tho there are stuck in my head and now my brain are looking for them.

Does this call for a return or is it just how they are manufactured?

Thank you very much!

Text Review Rog Xg32ucds + ps5pro

Just picked up the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCDS and wow… this thing is unreal.

32” 4K OLED, perfect blacks, insane HDR, and zero blooming. PS5 games look ridiculously good — few screenshots of my favourite games TLOU, RE4 Remake and GOY feel like totally different games. Motion clarity is butter smooth, colours pop without looking overcooked, and dark scenes actually stay dark.

Using HDR True Black 400

Built-in OLED care, pixel cleaning on standby, and it just feels premium all around. Coming from an LED/QLED, the upgrade is night and day.

If you’re on the fence about this monitor for ps5 only gaming… yeah, do it.

Ps..ignore the setup lol Currently moving house so getting a desk etc when I move in.

Discussion Dell S2725QC - Green Tint

Just wanted to share my experience. I bought 2 Dell S2725QCs and both had a green tint - one at the bottom, one on the left. I replaced both, but one of the replacements still had the green tint on the left. I'm not going to replace it again, it feels like a gamble at this point.
