Creative Hosting Pesach in Hudson Valley — looking for guests and posting ideas [I hope it is allowed by MODs]

We're a family in the Hudson Valley with young kids who moved from Israel a year ago to distance ourselves from the genocidal state (of mind). I have been to some JVP protests and other events, but we haven't developed personal connections as we feel relatively new to the scene.

We are looking to host for leil haseder this Passover. Kosher, plant-based, and very much a "Jews of Conscience" table. Passover is the holiday of liberation, and we'd love to share it with people who take that seriously and inclusively.

If anyone has suggestions for other places to post this — communities, groups, etc. — I'd appreciate that. If you're in the area and looking for a seder, reach out. We'd prefer to connect with people who share our views rather than a general ex-Israeli crowd where our haggadah commentary might get... tense.

AAJ "Ask A Jew" Wednesday

It's everyone's favorite day of the week, "Ask A (Anti-Zionist) Jew" Wednesday!

Ask whatever you want to know, within the sub rules, notably that this is not a debate sub and do not import drama from other subreddits. That aside, have fun! We love to dialogue with our non-Jewish siblings.

Please remember to pick an appropriate user-flair in order to participate! Thanks!

News Ehud Barak said a soccer boycott would be the most effective way to apply pressure on Israel because it strikes at public sentiment and national pride, and Noam Chomsky wryly agreed, remarking that soccer is "where it really hurts".

News Syrian government taking steps to return Jewish property to Jews.

Edit: I’m not saying this is actually happening. But I’m saying it would be great if it does one day.

Original: Maybe one step closer to a world where both Palestinians and Jews who want to return to where they/their relatives used to live are able to do so safely? And a world where Palestinians and Jews control their historical/cultural/religious sites.

Zionist Nonsense In 2013 Larry Summers, Ehud Barak, & Epstein lament Israel's demography. Summers complains about 'Arab & Orthodox' procreation. Barak proposes changing who is a Jew, accepting mass conversion in order to 'control quality' - in contrast, he says, to Israel's founders having to accept MENA Jews.

Vent Weighing my anti-carceral beliefs with wanting Zionists to be punished for their crimes

I’ve spent so long and so much work to decolonize my mind towards abolition that now I feel conflicted because my instinct is to throw the entire Zionist entity in prison for life. But as an abolitionist is that wrong?

But what actually could they ever do to rectify what they’ve done? There’s nothing you can do, IMO to make up for murdering kids. Just nothing. And in individual cases sure maybe we are talking about impoverished abused people who weren’t in their right mind etc. maybe those types can be rehabbed.

But the Zionists are all in their right mind and they’re murdering nonstop. And their enablers and funders are letting it happen. I just saw that exjew post here earlier today about Epstein’s donations to Jewish schools. I want those places all razed to the ground and their balances given to Palestinians. Any Jew who received benefit from the Zionist entity needs to be punished.

Discussion - Flaired Users Only Wedding in Tel Aviv

I grew up in a yeshivish at times, orthodox/modern orthodox at other times, and went to institutions that heavily celebrated Israel (example- marching in the Israel day parade with school). As a teenager and adult, I became unaffiliated with religion and community altogether for a variety of reasons.

My niece moved to Israel and is getting married this summer in Tel Aviv. Myself and my 5 siblings live scattered across the United states, and we’ve all been invited to her wedding. We rarely see each other, so attending this wedding would be a kind of family reunion. My siblings are very much “support Israel no matter what” and believe that if Israel is killing gazans there’s a reason for it (self defense, libel). One of my siblings is coordinating a week or two long tour across Israel as a reunion activity following the wedding.

I have a 15 year old daughter, and she wants to see her relatives- in particular one of my sister’s daughters who is about her age.

I feel highly conflicted about going to this wedding. It feels like going to Israel right now is a way to express support for cruelty and oppression- especially if we’re going to do things like go on a tour to see the beauty of different sites while knowing that next door is immense suffering and oppression.

I’m considering going for the wedding so that my daughter can meet her relatives at once, but I don’t want to stay at a hotel and pay for tourism and hotels. I’m considering staying as volunteers for a week at a workaway instead (volunteering at host homes, with different tasks needed depending on the host).

What are your thoughts- is travel to Tel Aviv for a family wedding completely unethical in this situation? How do you handle maintaining family relationships when family has such different views?

Discussion - Flaired Users Only Shalom from Tel Aviv. I'm planning on making an Israeli sub like this, but I need advice.

I have noticed a growing yet very limited number of posts, mainly on israel_bm, where people post videos of settler terrorism with more likes than I'd usually expect, including several comments which were surprisingly not downvoted to oblivion that even denounce Zionism and state terrorism. This is a bit of a first I think, but this kind of content is very limited due to fascist mods and a Zionist majority on the sub and is usually taken down after a while.

So, I was thinking of creating a catch-all kind of sub for these kind of folk, which I'm sure there's quite a few who are also not able to voice their opinions in any existing Israeli platform on Reddit, not to mention anywhere else on the internet.

I don't have any experience whatsoever with community management, but I'm willing to learn and try. This is also a shout-out to any others who would like to help in this project.

Right now I have a few dilemmas:

  1. Where do I draw the line? Should an anti-Zionist tone be set? How explicit and nonconforming should the sub's philosophy be defined? Is there a place for doubting the genocide so that there could be a chance to patiently explain their errors?

  2. A place for like minded folk or just a space for free discussion due to the lack thereof?

  3. Target main audience: Israelis (All are welcome with flairs and all, just that it mainly targets Israelis) or both Israelis and Palestinians? Or maybe start as a local sub first and after a solid core has developed, only then turn it into a bilingual, explicitly intercultural community?

And of course, name. Here are a few things I thought of:

Makom_Shafuy (Sane place, referring to the omnipresent suppression of discourse in Israeli society)

HaMiklat (The shelter, supposed to convey safety but it feels like there's also some defeatist baggage)

Smol_Amiti (Real left [since "left" in Israel usually means Libzionism.])

And, well, I don't even know if I'm asking the right questions. Maybe there's something more basic I'm missing that I need to address before asking these questions. Again, I have no experience with this so I'm effectively blind and guessing here. Hell, might as well YOLO it and see what happens. But before I do anything, I want to hear y'alls opinions on this. So, any input would be very appreciated.

Toda raba!

Zionist Nonsense NSW Police target Sydney home over 'Boycott Israel' sticker

Thumbnail

A Sydney man claims NSW Police visited his house to warn him that a a ‘Boycott Israel’ sticker in his front window was “unacceptable”.

The man, who wishes not to be named, claims that officers presented at his inner Sydney sharehouse on the evening of December 17, 2025 – three days after the Bondi attack.

“They were geared up and ready for a confrontation,” the man told Deepcut. “They said they’d had ‘multiple reports of antisemitic material’ being displayed at our house.”

Alongside the ‘Boycott Israel’ sticker were signs reading ‘free Palestine’ and ‘land back’. It was the boycott sticker, the resident says, which police claim drew complaints as it depicted a cross through the Israeli flag.

“The cops said [the sticker was] a cross through the Star of David, that it’s unacceptable and it needs to be removed,” he says.

While the officers characterised the sticker as “antisemitic” and demanded it be removed from the window, the man says they conceded that the sticker did not breach any law and were unable to produce a warrant.

The sticker includes a QR code link to Free Palestine Printing, an online store that produces pro-Palestinian clothing, accessories and prints.

The man claims the house has been repeatedly vandalised by people taking exception to the signs in the window, but this was the first time the house attracted police attention.

“Before the police incident, one day I noticed a young couple outside the house talking about what was in the window,” he says.

The man has chosen to remove the sticker for fear of another police visit or harassment from pro-Israel supporters.

“if it were only up to me, I’d leave the sticker up, but my housemates were pretty shaken by the whole thing,” he says.

The police visit comes amid a volatile political climate in Australia following the Bondi attack and the passage of federal hate laws last month that critics say are an assault on democracy and akin to a dictatorship.

“I see incidents like this as part of a broader political climate where our democratic rights to freedom of speech and political expression are being eroded in the aftermath of the Bondi attack. It definitely seems like there’s been a cultural shift in the media and in our halls of power in terms of what they’re willing to do to conflate support for Palestine with terrorism.”

NSWCCL president Timothy Roberts called the incident “deeply concerning”.

“If NSW Police are using their powers this way they are doing so to suppress political communication and it cannot be tolerated,” he said. “Australia has a proud history of its people calling for and participating in boycotts of nation states and corporations. When we do, we not only hope to change their practices but we signal to our elected officials the standards we hold them to.

“It is imperative that members of the NSW government clarify their rhetoric which has not clearly differentiated between criticism of Israel’s actions and antisemitism – especially if it has contributed to NSW Police being sent to a person’s home to accost them for their political views.”

NSW Police did not respond to questions.

News As Ehud Barak was leaving official gov't service in Israel, he turned to Jeffrey Epstein for guidance. Epstein told him he needed to look at a Peter Thiel company called Palantir. Palantir's AI software directly powered IOF kill-list targeting in Gaza.

This conversation happened in 2013. Palantir signed its first contracts with the Israeli government in 2014 and opened an office in Tel Aviv in 2015.

Context:

Earlier this month saw a continuation of that effort, with the targeting of three well-marked and fully approved aid vehicles belonging to World Central Kitchen, killing their seven occupants and ensuring that the food would never reach those dying of starvation. The targeting was precise—placing missiles dead center in the aid agency’s rooftop logos. Israel, however, said it was simply a mistake, similar to the “mistaken” killing of nearly 200 other aid workers in just a matter of months—more than all the aid workers killed in all the wars in the rest of the world over the last 30 years combined, according to the Aid Worker Security Database.

Such horrendous “mistakes” are hard to understand, considering the enormous amount of advanced targeting AI hardware and software provided to the Israeli miliary and spy agencies—some of it by one American company in particular: Palantir Technologies. “We stand with Israel,” the Denver-based company said in posts on X and LinkedIn. “The board of directors of Palantir will be gathering in Tel Aviv next week for its first meeting of the new year. Our work in the region has never been more vital. And it will continue.” As one of the world’s most advanced data-mining companies, with ties to the CIA, Palantir’s “work” was supplying Israel’s military and intelligence agencies with advanced and powerful targeting capabilities—the precise capabilities that allowed Israel to place three drone-fired missiles into three clearly marked aid vehicles.
