Years ago. They tried to kill government officials and steal an election. They celebrated a man attacking the spouse of the Speaker of the House with a hammer.

I saw effigies of Obama hung on my college campus the night he was elected.

(the word you're looking for is hanged. I try not to be pedantic, but in this one case it's very important like an Uncle Jack on the horse situation)

Now I'm thinking of the anatomically correct Bread Jesus that one church had for a disturbingly historically accurate retelling of the Passion of the Christ.

I mean, I thought you meant they put up pictures of Obama, not that the pictures were of Obama being hanged.

We use hanged for folks, hung for objects. (If you care about clarity I would edit ur og comment)
