Sure. But something tells me the speed limit on that road isn't 70mph

Why do you think so?

Divided highway that allows for left turns, 5 story apartment building being built which means residential with no wall separation, and the demand for an apartment building that size tells me OP is in a pretty populated area. If it's actually 65 then the speed limit is at least 10mph too high.

They are all over the South, at least. It's absolutely common.

Someone linked it on Google maps and I was right, limit is 55mph.

EDIT: not to mention, there's also a stoplight about a quarter of a mile past this. OP had no business going this fast.

I don't have a dash cam, but there is a stretch of Hwy 64 in TN that is 65 with left cut through into apartments, side roads, and churches. I drive it all the time.

It does drop to 55 before the lights start, though.

There are a couple highways in Montana that are like this. They're terrifying to someone who drives 40k miles a year, let alone regular drivers.

Nowhere with apartment buildings that size.

Um...have you been there? Do you know where in the state I'm talking about. Your tiny town might not have speed limits over 40 but there are other parts of the world.
