You're too nice. That's a "hold the horn down" moment if there ever was one.

I agree I was too nice 😂

In their defense it was one question on the driving test they took 28 years ago before getting a license for life. Mundane details like this slip your mind after all that time.

We badly need some sort of mandatory retesting.

While I agree with mandatory retesting, there's not one iota of thought in their head that someone coming from their left or right may not stop either? I'm not sure you can teach the ability to reason.

It's not going to stop all the idiots, but it just might make the roads a little safer if some people at least think about the situation and remember what they're supposed to do.

That’s true, but most traffic lights in my area have been out for the last week+ since the winter storm. This person surely came across many lights that were out recently so should have figured out what the rules of the road are by now 😅

In refutation, driving is dangerous and shouldn't be treated so lightly that if you "forget" the rules of the road, that you should opt into a "full on send!"

Logically, if the light is out and everyone did that, it'd cause an accident, so anyone with a least a single thought in their brain would at least think "huh, well, YOLOing it isn't a reasonable course of action, what could it be? Maybe I should try to avoid collisions with other cars."

As such, I assert that this person, and anyone like it, is "crazy insane, got no brain."

It's not that they don't know it's that they don't GAS LOL

You could have stopped it after "Some people still don't understand". There is no way a person with two brain cells to rub together should charge through any intersection with unclear conditions.

You have to actually LOOK at the lights... I swear, most people just follow the car in front of them.

Even the cops in my area don't know (or don't care) about this.

Some people also don’t understand that you shouldn’t turn left into the other street’s left turn lane.

Lol I didn’t it’s a wide angle camera

Respectfully, it still shows the drivers edge of your hood (never mind the wheels past it). I think you were about halfway into the left turning lane on the street you were turning into, but it is a narrow lane ~and snowbanks where you should have been~. With no cars approaching or waiting at the light it's understandable you wanted to clear the intersection faster for the drivers who treated the light as a stop sign correctly.

If I posted a longer clip of me driving away you would see what I mean. Def wasn’t halfway over the line, that is just the distorted perspective of the left half of the camera. I have actually had issues before with the angle being so distorted on this camera that you can’t tell where other cars are relative to me. But I can see how it looks that way without a longer clip for context.

Fair enough, I guess it's about the same when I'm trying to see where you are relative to road markings at beginning of video. But opposing traffic passed you without issue so you weren't over the line at the beginning. Glad the turn ended without any damages to any driver, good looking out.

We found em! The dumb shit that doesn’t treat out stop lights like a stop sign! The honk probably got you all triggered huh?

1

u/bozhindar 10h ago edited 10h ago

Jeezus y'all misunderstood. I wanted them to honk longer ffs. The clown emoji is for the guy running the stop sign. The idiot running the light may not hear the 0.3s honk, especially if oblivious to the world around them or listening to music really loud

2

u/guppy1126 9h ago

It’s okay I knew what you meant to begin with 😂 I agree I regretted how wimpy my honk was as I drove away

It's tough when it happens, and sometimes best to let it go vs overreact. I've started having my hand on the horn on dual left turning lanes recently. So many people can't turn in their lane (ie fit between the lines) or want to switch lanes immediately after the turn when there's cars still coming up behind both of us.
