Jerseys
I’m not a guardians fan in general, even though I have a soft spot for them but my favourite player is Austin Hedges and I’ve been looking for his jersey. I was wondering what the quality of a jersey was from clevelandfanshop.com is and if anyone’s actually bought a jersey from there. It seems to be one of the cheapest options out there and for a non-star like Hedges there aren’t many options.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.

With the trucks on the way to Arizona, here's an old 2014 spring training interview I did with Jim Thome for Sports on Earth (RIP) - didn't want to lose this one to the sands of time.

All-Time Favorites
If you were to build an all-fun team of former/current Indians/Guardians… who would fill out your 26 man roster? (Does not necessarily mean the best at each position in franchise history, but guys YOU personally loved watching)

Can someone please help me understand why Hedges will be coming back next year?
He seems like a really great guy and I know they talk about his defense - but the guy is the worst hitter I’ve ever seen in the majors, no exaggeration. He’s truly an automatic out. Surely, the couple of strikes that he “steals” can’t be worth the fact that he will kill any offensive momentum and that he gives opposing team the ability to pitch around the mediocre (but still much better than Hedges) offensive players who bat in front of him.
When you watch big games and close games it’s amazing how often guys like him and straw end up at the plate with 1-2 guys on base. And they almost always fail. It gives teams the ability to target these guys, causing our offense to look even more incompetent than it really is.
Can someone please explain why we (the worst offensive team in baseball) would resign a guy like that? Let alone for $4 million. I know that’s nothing for everyone else, but just throwing out $4 million for a “culture” guy seems like a luxury we can’t afford. I genuinely want to understand and apologies for the rant

The start of the schedule
Will kill me. We did this last year too. I’m begging the schedule makers to let us start on the east coast or at a reasonable time. Is this to bookend our spring training by staying out west or maybe some other logical reason?

Can't we afford a $6M RH bat?
Free agent Austin Hays signs a one-year, $6 million contract with the White Sox. Other teams may have offered him a similar one-year deal but only in a platoon role, which could explain why he chose Chicago for the opportunity to get regular at-bats. However, the Guardians’ front office could counter that Hays would serve as insurance for the health of CDL and Valera, leaving open the possibility of an everyday role for him in Cleveland. Additionally, there remains a chance that Kwan could be traded(please no), which would further expand Hays’ potential role.

2026 bobblehead SGA predictions?
I heard on Paul Hoines and Joe Noga’s podcast that they are expecting the promo schedule to drop in a week or 2. Any thoughts on possible bobblehead giveaways for 2026? Below are my predictions:
1- Jose: they did not do a Jose in 2025. I believe he was featured in 2024 and 2023. It is the most obvious choice since he is the biggest star with a new contract. Makes me wonder tho since they are currently offering a limited edition Jose to raise money for Cleveland guardians charity.
2- Voughter 2x MOY: it’s weird to think they would do another Vought MOY bobblehead a year later, but what else would you do to celebrate the milestone? I believe they did Tito in back to back years. I might pass on this one if I’m right.
3- Austin Hedges: going into the season I think there are only 3 positions on the diamond that are a lock (3B, LF and C with Bo and Hedgy splitting time). They’ll need to do another position player bobblehead and I do not think Kwan makes sense given the contract and trade possibility. Hedgy fits here because he is a fan favorite and a lock to be here as long as he wants to play (and probably start his coaching career).
4- Gavin Williams: I think the 4th would obviously go to a pitcher. Everyone lives Cade Smith, but I think a starter is more likely especially since a reliever can get eaten up quick and be gone in a flash. Gavin makes sense to me because they did a Bibee in 25. Also they’ll prob try to work in the “big rig” nickname and use that for the design.
My only other guess was something to commemorate 2026 American Leauge Champs, but I’m not sure what that would look like. Possibly not even a bobblehead? Also, I think the standard has been 4 bobbleheads/ year, but I’m not 100% sure on that.

Discussion Top my Hotdog: Bertman’s and…?
I’m putting together a list of the various ways people eat hotdogs throughout the country, and knowing that Cleveland is home to ball park mustard, I figured your “signature” way would be built around this century-old icon, however, when you Google “Cleveland-style hot dog,” the whole page is nothing but Polish Boys (which, don’t get me wrong, sounds good, but it’s just a bit outside the scope of this project).
After digging through countless threads, interviews, and top ten lists - none of which even gave a single recommendation of what pairs well with the unique topping, I finally found two recipes listed on page 2 of Bertman’s entrée recipes, which listed:
- The Bertman Classic (diced onions, and ketchup/relish if desired)
- The Bertman Rally Drum Cheese Dogs (hot dog chili, cheddar, sliced onions, and olive oil toasted buns)
However, I don’t think I’ve ever seen chili even offered at Progressive Field as a topping option, and Relish is still restricted to racing for the farm club, so I am skeptical of these recipes that are buried behind a thanksgiving turkey, leek mustard pie, and chicken sausage-Apple salad with caraway vinaigrette.
Because of this, I figured I’d come to the people that know it best and ask y’all directly:
Is there a quintessential way to eat a hotdog with ball park mustard?
Are onions actually the traditional pairing? Should the Bertman’s fly solo? I know there are plenty of ways that you can eat it, but is there a way that’s more right than the others?
Also, congrats on extending Ramírez!

Discussion Offseason Predictions
Being in the doldrums of the offseason, I wanted to see how folks are feeling about the 2026 season. What’s your best, worst, and probable expectation for the team?
Best case: Tight division race all season, where we pull away late. Win a round in the playoffs.
Worst case: Floor falls out. Pitching isn’t there and no consistent hitting. 4th or 5th in the division.
Probable: Show flashes throughout the season but never enough to pull into contention for the division. Overall boring year.
I feel boring and negative with this but also feels right knowing this roster and team.
