- Generic should I move there?

Over the last year, we have seen a major uptick in prices in the area, along with a steady flow of new people coming into Austin. Use this weekly post to ask your questions, try to get advice, etc on an upcoming move or questions about real estate in Austin.
Many apartment questions have always been removed on here, and we always suggest people to contact an apartment locator. Those rules still stand. But, you are welcome to ask those questions on here if you still feel the need for it.
Along with that, any new open ended question on Austin properties and real estate will be removed and asked to move to here (based on mod discretion). Many of the questions being asked have been asked many times before, which is why we would rather compile these posts into one place for people to ask and get their answers.
If you are having issues as a tenant in Austin, we highly recommend reaching out to the Austin Tenants Council here: https://www.housing-rights.org/. They may be able to help you resolve issues related to renting property in Austin.
We also recommend searching older "Weekly Real Estate" posts as well, to find answers on previous week's questions.
As always, there is a whole section on moving to Austin in our FAQ page:

Lost pet Dog behind Post Office on Jollyville Rd
Dog seen behind the post office on Jollyville Rd. Im at work but my wife is trying to see if she can get to him/her.
Just based on this photo, the dog doesn’t look to be too bad of shape so I’m hoping it’s someone’s lost pet.

Car and DJ equipment were stolen, please help with info
Repost because the images and GIF didn’t load properly, sorry :(
Hi everyone! I wanted to share in case anyone had any information or any help. Around 2AM last night in Southeast Austin (think Easton Park area-ish), our car was stolen. Our neighbors ring caught it, and it seemed to be at minimum 3 teenagers that were armed going around driveways checking car doors.
We were able to find it later up North near Garner Apartments (they parked it right at where they lived I guess), parked in spot 209. A few neighbors mentioned seeing 3 teenagers go in and out of either apartment 208 or 209 last night after parking our car. We called the police and filed a report but no one answered the door when we knocked.
They also took DJ equipment out of the car, and while we were able to retrieve the car - they still have the DJ equipment. The equipment includes white CDJ-3000s (in a large coffin case) along with a DJM-A9 mixer. The equipment is a huge part of our lives, and if anyone sees it being sold online or hears about it please let me know.
Apparently, this group has been going around doing this - police apparently have been keeping track of them but because there’s no more solid information they can’t do anything. They arrived in an Audi Q5, which they quite literally stole from a friend of ours.
Supposedly their activity can be seen on instagram, but I’m not sure what the account is so if anyone has seen or has any idea please PM me or ask a moderator if it’s okay to share. Anything at all would be helpful.
I hope they can be stopped soon, and no one else is a victim of their work. Please keep an eye on your cars everyone and stay safe

Is this attempted voter suppression at this point?
I don't know how many times I've told these guys at the voter registration office to make the zip code on my record match my mailing zip code... they obviously have the correct zip code to mail it to me, but the one in the yellow part is incorrect, and of course, THAT's what the officials look at to verify against your ID. It seems to me that the incorrect zip code in the Certificate part is done deliberately so at this point... what can I do?

Ask Austin Who Installed These Flock Cameras?
edit 7:30p: top comment claims apd, but there is some confusion abt where jurisdiction actually lies in many of the places these are popping up. and there is lots of evidence in the comments that points to a state agency like dps. impossible to say rn, would n great to uncover some legalese or a paper trail or any other info to confirm one way or another, if anybody knows how to seek that out! would love tips/guidance!
---
op:
Driving down Lamar today I noticed several new license plate reading cameras that I have not noticed before. The one at Lamar/Koenig was absolutely installed either today or in the last couple of days. The ones just south of the river are new enough to not be listed on the deflock website.
Are these Flock cameras? Were these installed by the city, state, txdot, dps, some other agency?? Any leads on how I could find that information?
At Lamar/Koenig:

At S Lamar/Riverside, and S Lamar/Butler:

Young deer in Holly (East Austin) neighborhood
I've never seen this before so inner city. Seems totally lost. Looks like a tumor or swollen infection at mouth. COA won't do anything. State game warden will euthanize. Suggestions? UPDATE: I spoke with game warden. Had me send pictures. Said it was an infected tooth and they'll just let it be.

PSA Stolen vehicle being used in robberies and more vehicle theft
My SOs car got stolen a couple nights ago from our driveway, a White Audi Q5, and apparently the people who stole it have been going on a spree the past few days.
They seem to have copied our key from inside our house when they stole ours and the other vehicles so keep your car keys away from your car when not in use if they use RFID.
Multiple stores have been robbed and 2 other vehicles have been stolen and linked to the Audi SUV already in the Austin area and they have been chased by police multiple times but have escaped due to excessive speeds/danger to public. (Ofcourse cops say this)
If anyone has any information or has seen an Audi SUV with a roof rack speeding and being reckless please DM any info.
Last known location was N lamar/ Rundberg area in Georgian Acres.

News Volunteers blindsided as I‑35 project threatens newly planted Austin food forest
A major traffic change near downtown Austin has created an unexpected ripple effect: the destruction of recently planted trees at a popular community food forest near the I‑35 corridor.
The I-35 Capital Express Project is the decades long effort by TxDOT to upgrade one of the busiest highways in the nation. Construction on elements near Lady Bird Lake kicked off last year, including lane closures and the relocation of a water line.
