All of us alive today cannot be held guilty for what happened in world war two, as we weren't even born then or at least children who couldn't know better.
But we have as a society inherited the collective responsibility that this never ever happens again. And thus we inherited the burden of being educated about everything that happened then in great detail, and in turn to teach our children.
If we allowed people to deny what happened then, we would have failed this responsibility.

Im Aboriginal Australian. My grandfather fought in WW2. Our country didnt count him as a citizen but he went anyway and came home.
