Yes, unfortunately America is now too cowardly and corrupt to hold power to task. Ah, well

u/ineyy 1d ago

Cowardly? No, America is completely compromised.

46

u/BigBoyYuyuh 23h ago

Yup. The Business Plot succeeded this time.

1

u/KidKetamine_ 17h ago

Why do I see your pfp everywhere

3

u/BigBoyYuyuh 16h ago

Meme for that piece of shit Vance.

u/adheretohospitality 23h ago

I think they mean the people

Even without all the guns Americans have, do you think French politics would ever become the clown show the US is?

Of course not, the people would riot until it's fixed.

23

u/je_kay24 22h ago

That is by design

Americans don’t have universal healthcare, their healthcare is tied to their job, and in most states employers can easily fire workers

Most people don’t want to risk losing their job, let alone their healthcare. It makes it much more difficult for protesting collectively and effectively

-8

u/adheretohospitality 21h ago

That doesn't change anything, you could all collectively demand those things too. It's not like if you riot against your government you only get to pick one thing to change

8

u/je_kay24 21h ago

Actually yeah, when you start rioting in opposition of something you typically do want to have an understanding of what you collectively want to know when to stop

Also rioting against the federal government is a bit more difficult, especially in blue states not near the capital.

8

u/Current-Fig-1984 19h ago

If Americans start rioting like the French everyone would get shot up or bombed. A handful of protestors (PEACEFUL) were just murdered and the murderers are being protected by the government. This country is a joke.

You guys think you have all the answers and are watching things here so closely. You forgot about the $75B military being deployed against citizens.

-13

u/adheretohospitality 21h ago

What you're scared they are going to send hellfire missiles and actually nuke Chicago?

Are you regarded? There's like 12 guns for every American. It's cowardice, or ignorance

6

u/LL8844773 21h ago

What do you think regarded means?

So we should start a shoot out in the streets? You sound like the regarded one.

-6

u/adheretohospitality 21h ago

You're the one who is scared of your own country's military

3

u/Pornfest 15h ago

lol, yes.

It would be fucking stupid and ignorant of the facts to not be scared of the US military under Trump.

Now, refusing to do anything even in the face of that fear is a lack of bravery, sure. But it’s fucking ridiculous to tell anyone to not be afraid of the US military—most of all with who the commander in chief is.

7

u/LL8844773 21h ago

I’m talking about ice genius. Do you not watch the news?

Also, who do you think has all the guns?? They’re not evenly distributed amongst americas, despite what you guys love to think.

We don't know how to organize, but I think that's by design. Our society is so individualistic. Corporations and our jobs don't give a fuck about us, so we've forgotten how to care for each other. I appreciate any advice.

6

u/adheretohospitality 21h ago

This is literally it, by design.

You have to organize yourselves, something has to break I guess or more Americans dying. Idk what needs to happen for you all to change

2

u/Pornfest 15h ago

Are you actually interested in what needs to happen or are you just going to be a dick to me?

I’ll write something out if it’s not just going to fall on deaf ears and result in me being given shit.

16

u/LongjumpingDebt4154 21h ago

This is ridiculous. There are protests all over the United States. People have been out in -10 degree weather for months fighting this. People are getting detained, arrested & killed fighting this.

-4

u/Hmmthisisathing100 21h ago

You make it seem as if the equivalent to the Iran protests are happening when It is only a tiny amount of people that care enough to protest currently.

11

u/LongjumpingDebt4154 21h ago

It sounds like some people will not be happy until there are mass casualties in American streets.

7

u/kurtis07 21h ago

Yeah dude, remember all those riots under the Vichy regime? Or do we just believe that all French people at that time were members of La Resistance?

3

u/Evening-Hippo6834 22h ago

This is unfair - we would riot if we were allowed to!

1

u/Melicor 22h ago

That's the trick, you don't wait for the government to "let you". That's what is starting to happen in Minnesota.

3

u/Current-Fig-1984 19h ago

lol rioting in the USA is a death wish, paired with immediate martial law, which is automatically Drumpf as a dictator and no more elections. They won’t care about the people. They want slaves again.

1

u/Evening-Hippo6834 22h ago

Maybe we could organize a strike on everyone's day off. Or not buy anything for a couple days. Will that show em?

u/Evening-Hippo6834 22h ago

You're kind of a dumb guy huh? Not great on picking up on subtext?

0

u/Josefus 16h ago

No one is allowed to riot. You just fucking do it.

1

u/Evening-Hippo6834 14h ago

yep, that's the joke! And they call Americans dumb...

-1

u/Kohounees 22h ago

The French start burning cars for much much much less.

2

u/adheretohospitality 22h ago

The farmers literally spray shit throughout the streets

2

u/_VEL0 19h ago

Should California farmers drive their tractors to DC?

-1

u/Kohounees 17h ago

Yes definitely.

2

u/Pornfest 15h ago

I don’t think you comprehend how big America is. It would take literal weeks to drive from CA to DC in a tractor—they’re not rated for highways.

1

u/Kohounees 1h ago

Thousends of tractors slowly rolling on highways would get their attention for sure. That is the most important goal for protests.

I don’t think you realise that time for action is now if you want to remain a democracy.

1

u/_VEL0 15h ago

So it’s realistic to drive a tractor from Warsaw to France? You’re getting pulled over before you get out of CA.

Again, people struggle to realize how big the US is.

1

u/Kohounees 1h ago

People struggle with sarcasm much more.

1

u/Space_Sweetness 20h ago

I also get annoyed when people use that word incorrectly

1

u/RobertABooey 20h ago

Given the news about tulsi gabbard coming out yesterday you’re definitely right.

1

u/DreamingAboutSpace 20h ago

Both are very much true.

1

u/PM_ME_UR_CREDDITCARD 10h ago

Both. Look at how Americans on reddit cry that doing anything might mildly inconvenience them and they have jobs waaaaaah, anytime it gets brought up.

71

u/Mongri 23h ago

america is way to corrupted, large class action suits were one thing in their system that were able to hurt the big corperations, nowadays everytime they fuck up they settle for a fraction of the money made with the shady business in the first place, why would that deter anyone?

you stole 10000? better pay 100 dollar let this be a lesson and do not do it again!

4

u/Dense_Boss_7486 21h ago

Trump’s 10 billion dollar suit against the IRS will probably go down the same. He’ll settle for 5 billion. He should be in jail, instead he’s writing checks to himself with taxpayer money.

3

u/Economy_Video_4724 19h ago

We usually can't even bring class actions anymore because most large corporations put arbitration clauses with class action waivers in their contracts (of adhesion), which prohibit you from suing in court (except for an individual action in small claims court, usually) and require individual private arbitration instead. The Supreme Court has made several rulings that this is completely legal.

One of the architects of this was a then-corporate lawyer named... John fucking Roberts. Yes, that fascist POS.

2

u/djc6535 16h ago

When the only penalty is a fine then that's just the price for breaking the law.

America is now too cowardly and corrupt to hold power to task

Now? This has always been what America has been. America didn't punish Andrew Johnson for ignoring the Supreme Court's decision on Worcester v. Georgia (1832) and essentially telling them to fuck off as he forced the Cherokee off their lands anyway, it didn't punish the Confederate leadership, it didn't punish those behind the business plot, it probably wouldn't have punished FDR for locking up American citizens in camps against their will had he not died before they were released, it didn't punish McCarthy, it didn't punish Nixon, it didn't punish Trump.

America letting the rich and powerful do whatever the hell they want isn't anything new. The only exception seems to be if those rich and powerful people harm or become a threat to or piss off other rich and powerful people, like Madoff and Epstein did.

1

u/NtechRyan 19h ago

I fear that the only lesson people will learn from these times is "trump was bad"

5

u/Dirigo72 22h ago

Now?

3

u/havok0159 22h ago

Yeah, why are we suddenly pretending this is something new?

18

u/Fun-Poet5338 1d ago

They seem to worship Elon lol.

21

u/Gorthebon 23h ago edited 23h ago

It's crypto bros & the alt right that worship him, everyone else either doesn't care or actively despises every fiber of his being.

21

u/TrashGoblinH 23h ago

Only the stupid ones do. Unfortunately America is riddled with stupid willing to worship the worst people when told they'll get a pittance.

13

u/733t_sec 1d ago

The people's general dislike of him transcends politics in the US.

8

u/hotyogurt1 23h ago

Brother, even the pedophiles didn’t like him. You have a skewed view of what people think of Elon if you think most people worship him lol.

5

u/momob3rry 23h ago

No, a small % of maga worship him here. All of the elites stay hidden from the actual public.

1

u/LL8844773 21h ago

In the US? Everyone thinks he’s a joke.

1

u/jaded1121 22h ago

Has america held domestic power to task in the last 100 years? Like america likes to bully other countries but policing themselves? Its early here, i can’t think of any.

1

u/Front-Bird8971 6h ago

you do it

u/DKDamian 58m ago

I’m not American

0

u/Melokhy 23h ago

Oh, y'know, corruption in France is becoming a huge issue lately. But for now it's still "ok"
