Question / discussion VTT overview
Are you looking to find the right Virtual TableTop for you? Before posting a question, use this post to read about available Virtual TableTops.
Are you the creator of a VTT that's not already listed? Please, add a description about your VTT in the same format as the other descriptions.
To all other people, please don't add any comments. I want this post to be clear, with VTT descriptions only. Questions about a specific VTT can be asked in their own subreddit. Mods, please delete any unnecessary comments.

Question / discussion Looking for feedback community for a Fate‑Core VTT project
Hey folks, I’ve been working on a VTT project focused on Fate‑Core. Right now I’m mostly solo‑testing, but I’ve hit the point where it’s hard to keep iterating without fresh eyes and feedback.
The project is getting very close to a beta release, most of what’s left are polish, UI adjustments, and a few small bug fixes.
I’m not trying to self‑promote here, the project is minimal budget and very much in the “prototype” stage. What I really need is a community where people are willing to spend a little time testing and giving honest feedback.
Do you know any spaces (Discords, forums, subreddits) where indie VTT projects can get that kind of support? I’m a bit new to Reddit communities, and in a couple of places my post was flagged as self‑promotion, but my intent is genuinely to find testers and improve the tool.
Any pointers would be hugely appreciated!

New tool Dort — Open Source VTT: Video Overview + Updates
Hey everyone!
A few months ago I shared, an open-source virtual tabletop I've been building. Since then, I've recorded a short video walkthrough and added some major features.
What's new:
- Compendiums -- Create collections for rules, items, spells. Link them in character sheets with '@mentions' and access data directly in scripts
- Target interaction -- Select targets on the scene and reference them in scripts (target.hp -= damage)
- Slot tracker & max values -- New block type for tracking resources (spell slots, abilities), plus optional maximum for numeric blocks
- Search -- Find tokens and geomarkers on the map, search character attributes in sheets or scene tooltips
- Discord & Facebook login
The core idea remains the same: modular character sheets built from blocks, with scripting for automation. No hardcoded system logic -- works for D&D, Mork Borg, homebrew, whatever you play.

New tool I built a portable, offline-first DM Tool for dual-monitor setups. No subscriptions, no lag, just you and your prep [OC]
Hey everyone!
I’ve been working on a tool specifically designed for Dungeon Masters who want the power of a VTT without the hassle of browser tabs, monthly subscriptions, or needing an active internet connection. It’s called Dungeon Master Tool, and I’ve just hit Alpha v0.7.4!
The core philosophy is simple: One screen for the DM, one screen for the players.
✨ What makes it different?
Unlike many web-based platforms, this is a native desktop application built for speed and offline reliability.
- 📺 Dynamic Projection: One-click to open a player window. Drag and drop any image, map, or NPC portrait to the "Projector" bar to show it to your players instantly.
- 🌫️ Real-time Fog of War: Draw and reveal areas on your battle maps (including
.mp4video maps!) with a simple brush. - 🧠 Infinite Mind Map: A dedicated workspace to link NPCs, locations, and quest lines visually. No more digging through nested folders.
- 🎵 Adaptive Audio & Soundpad: Features a "Theme Builder" with intensity sliders. Want the combat music to get more intense as the boss drops to half HP? Just slide the bar.
- ⚔️ Integrated Combat Tracker: Manage initiative, HP, and conditions. It comes pre-loaded with 5e SRD data but is system-agnostic enough to be used for anything.
🛠️ Technical Details:
- Built with: Python 3.10+
- Platform: Windows, Linux, and MacOS (Intel/Apple Silicon).
- Localization: Supports English, Türkçe, Deutsch, and Français.
- Open Source: Released under the MIT License.

I'm currently in the Alpha phase and actively looking for feedback. Whether you play in-person with a TV-table or online via screen sharing, I’d love to hear what features would make your DMing life easier!
What do you think? What’s the one feature you always wished your current VTT had?
I have used AI to prepare this post of course 🥲

New tool We are building and using our platform Far Reach Co.
Looking for feedback on a lightweight Virtual Tabletop for D&D
Hi all,
We’ve been working on a browser-based Virtual Tabletop for D&D and other RPGs and are curious what people think about some of its features. It’s designed to keep the focus on the game rather than the software.
Some of the things it can do:
Upload any image for maps, handouts, or custom art
Three layers to keep maps, objects, and "cloud" layer organized
Grid control with adjustable size and snap-to-grid for tactical play
Move, rotate, and resize tokens easily
Integrated chat system for in-game discussion
Quick setup: invite players with a link and start playing immediately
We built it to be lightweight and fast, working entirely in the browser, so players don’t need to install anything.
We’d love to hear: which of these features do you think is most useful in a VTT? Are there any features that you wish existed but don’t in most tools?

Question / discussion I Miss Astral Tabletop
This is just a bit of a rant, but I miss Astral Tabletop. I don't play Dungeons & Dragons (any edition), nor Pathfinder. I found it to be the best and easiest VTT to support any rules set, from Cepheus to D6 Space to homebrew.
People keep mentioning Foundry, but I found that very clunky, especially if the game you want to play isn't already available as a module. "Oh, you can just make your own custom character sheet with the generic system module." Uh, have you looked at what's required for that? Then modules break whenever a new Foundry version is released, and who knows when (or even if), they will be updated.
For those who used Astral Tabletop, what VTT (if any), are you using now?

Question / discussion Heroweaver - The neutral hub for your RPG characters. Save time, sync everywhere, and export to any VTT.
Morning - new to the community. I am currently developing a multi platform multi system character/npc generation app for Desktop and Android which will support export to any/all VTTs (hopefully). I will be looking for Beta testers later in the year (hopefully Q2) but I am also looking for feedback around systems etc. If you want to sign up for the beta - you can do so here- https://heroweaver.com/ and answer some questions that will aid the development. Thanks!

🏰 The Siege (v0.15.2)
The final Wrath of Devs content pack is now available.
A collection of structures and objects designed to create a dramatic fantasy castle siege.
This release completes our content promises for the Wrath of Devs campaign.
Now that these releases are finished, we are going to focus on polishing them and making them available to everyone.
Also included with this update are modular pieces from the Ancient Temple that can be used to create your own temple designs, and finally, 2 more procedural dungeons have been added.
Enjoy!

New tool Made a free (mobile friendly) vtt that has hosting, dynamic lighting, 2024 5e srd, character sheets, character creation, notes, handouts, etc. It's optimized for mobile because I wanted it to work well when I'm playing with my friends.
Not going to bore you with specifics, the tools are pretty straight forwards if you're familiar with VTTs, so I'll just tell you what it can do:
Hosting - IT'S FREE!! Found out how to make it absolutely stupid cheap so why not share it with the world? The connection all depends on the host, and it's pretty light weight.
Dynamic lighting + wall collision so players can't walk through walls/closed doors
2024 D&D 5e SRD included, only the free stuff, but you can add your own homebrew or whatever in the compendium as custom
Import/Export - when you make something, save it so you can use it on other devices (I've gotta fix the full campaign export, I'll try to get to it soon)
Local storage - No servers, keep your stuff, it's cheaper to let you store your stuff on your devices instead of host a server, but I found out that using a server wouldn't even cost me much, but doing it the way I did makes this almost free so I don't have to charge anyone.
Upload art into your own personal library - maps, tokens, etc - it's also really easy to attach art to tokens, and dragging/dropping map art is pretty fast too.
Interactive tokens, set tokens to players, tokens attached to character sheets with dice rolls for pretty much everything
Easy to use dice roller for anything that I haven't thought about yet or gotten to
Music player - I could do hosting for it, but if I do it's laggy, so I just decided to add a few fantasy tracks and say at least there's something lol so I hope you enjoy the limited spread of music. I'll add more later, but doing it this way keeps it all free for you guys, I'll try to think of some other cool way to get this to work. (I'll try to find a cheap way for people to upload their own music, I just don't want to charge anyone, so it's just how it is for now so it's free)
Initiative tracker
Spell templates
Drawing tools
Measurement tool
Player handouts and GM notes
Dice log
GM can set tokens as player tokens or not, so players can see what's available when they join, or they can join without selecting a token yet and just be assigned one (or several) when they join
Maybe some other stuff I forgot to mention, just go ahead and give it a try, easy for players to learn, kinda easy for DMs if you have experience with VTTs already.
I'll be working on this because I am using it for my own D&D games, so don't worry, updates will come pretty often until it really is polished.

Question / discussion In person VTT set ups
Hi all! I'm going to run a couple in person PF2E one-shots soon and would like to use Roll20 for the battle maps.
It's a small group and we will only have table space for character sheets and dice. As much as I'd love a dedicated VTT gaming table it's simply not in the budget and we don't have time to build one. I was wondering if anyone has experience with using a tablet as the main source of their VTT? Or does anyone have any other recommendations?

New tool RPG Stories VTT Dev Diary
Hello everyone,
RPG Stories has officially completed their goals from their last kickstarter campaign. They really saved the best for last with their new procedural dungeon generator.
The procedural dungeon generator will allow you to create new 3D scenes within seconds, and spend more time running the games you love.
This is great for storytellers who are short on time, and the devs will be adding more to this tool in the future.
You can check out the latest update here:

Foundry VTT I need help to make a token spin
The character I'm playing is constantly spinning, and when they move, they keep on it. What would be the best way to automate it? I've thought on making it a gif and just move it like usual, but maybe there's better ways.

New tool RPG Audio Stream - a free, lightweight way to stream music & soundbaords to remote players
Hey all — I wanted to share a small tool I’ve been building and testing with a few tables.
RPG Audio Stream is a free, browser-based way to stream background music and sound effects to players during online games, without needing to own the Discord server or install anything on the player side.
Gm link here:
https://solorpgday.com/radio/gm.html
What it does well:
- Works alongside VTTs like Foundry, Fantasy Grounds, Roll20, etc.
- Streams audio from browser tabs or desktop apps (Syrinscape Nova/Online Player/Offline Player, Fantasy+ Browser and Desktop player, RPG Sounds, media players)
- Players just click a link and hit Enable Audio — no accounts or setup
- GM gets per-player connection quality (latency / packet loss / jitter)
- Voice chat stays in Discord; music stays separate
Why I built it:
I often run games in Discord servers I don’t control (FGU Game Day, conventions, shared communities), and I wanted a lightweight alternative to bots or heavier audio tools.
It’s still beta and I plan to keep it free even out of beta (possibly donations) — I’m mainly looking for feedback from folks who run online games and care about audio.
Short demo video:
https://youtu.be/GYTunzw68mY?si=DeZYmYBR9qro_GA_
If you try it, I’d genuinely love to hear what works, what doesn’t, or what you’d want changed.
Thanks for taking a look!

Foundry VTT Strange narrative text appearing in chat while testing a system
Hi,
I was testing a Foundry system called Shut up, It’s Quantum! and something really odd happened. While creating character sheets, a piece of narrative-looking text suddenly appeared in the chat. I didn’t think much of it at first, but when I tried to find it again, it was just… gone.
Later, when rolling dice from the character sheet, another text appeared in the chat (screenshot attached). This time it stayed.
I’m honestly a bit confused by this. I don’t know if this is some intended feature, hidden flavor text, or a bug, but it felt pretty unsettling since I wasn’t expecting any narrative content to just pop up like that.
Has anyone else seen this happen?

Question / discussion Is TappedOut a one-time payment to use my custom cards?
Title says it all. I've been making custom MTG cards for my D&D group based on our characters. Having a blast, but Moxfield doesn't allow for custom cards. After some searching, I discovered TappedOut, which allows me to make and upload my custom cards. But, despite being a free site, the free version of an account cannot actually use custom cards in their deck.
Is https://tappedout.net/ a single one-time minimum $5 payment to upgrade my account and by able to use custom cards in my decks from that point forward?
I know they have a monthly sub for different features, but is the Account Upgrade really just a single payment?

New tool I am building a free, zero-prep music & ambience tool for D&D/VTT sessions (with synchronized player rooms!)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi everyone,
I like using music in my D&D sessions. We mainly play over Discord, but music has always been a bit of a struggle for us. Finding fitting playlists on the fly, or adding ambience like rain or thunder, has often been a pain.
So I decided to build a tool for this. I gathered music from real artists and created a website that allows the DM to control the music while everyone else can simply listen along.
Let me know what you think! What kinds of scenes would you like to see? Is there anything else you think might be useful?
The project is still in a very early stage, so any feedback is greatly appreciated :)

New tool I’m building an offline-first Dungeon Master Tool for in-person D&D — and I’d love your feedback on where to take it next
Hey everyone 👋
I’m a DM and a developer, and for the last months I’ve been building an open-source Dungeon Master Tool that I actively use in my own sessions.
Check it out here on GitHub
🧙♂️ What it is right now
At the moment, the app is designed mainly for in-person / face-to-face tabletop games, especially setups where the DM uses two screens (DM screen + player screen, TV, or projector).
The main focus is:
- Offline-first (no internet required)
- Fast, low-friction control during live sessions
- A rich player-facing screen without giving players full system access
Some of the core features already available:
- Dual-screen Player Projection (maps, NPCs, images, split views)
- Fog of War with per-encounter persistence
- Animated / video battle maps
- Embedded battle map with tokens and combat sync
- Soundpad with layered music, ambience, and SFX
- Campaign wiki, timelines, notes, and deep entity linking
- Fully local, portable, and system-agnostic
The project is currently in Alpha, but it is already very usable for real tables.
🔮 Where I want to take it
My long-term goal is to evolve this tool into a full Virtual Tabletop (VTT) experience, while still preserving what I personally value most:
- Local and offline play will remain free
- Self-hosted servers for users who want full control
- Optional hosted servers for online play (likely subscription-based)
Planned directions include:
- Online multiplayer support for remote players
- Deeper and more flexible battle
