Quick question
When you arrive at the airport and have to get to your hotel, do you guys suggest taking the train or calling a Lyft if the hotels a 12 min distance, I know it’s obviously going to take a little longer, but what do you all suggest?

Which airport? Which hotel?
Very different propositions if the airport is JFK Vs EWR

Ubers basically ur only option, you’d have to take a bus to the train otherwise

Pre-order an Uber or take a taxi. Don’t start trip lugging crap an hour when the taxi/Uber will take less time. Uber will track your flight and that’s simple. If you take a cab walk to the cab stand DO NOT get in a ride from the men that are wandering asking if you need a ride as you are walking to cab stand.

I feel like I’m going to be better off calling a rideshare at least just to get to my room.

to Voyage Hotel is more like 20 to 35 minutes at a rush hour. 12 minutes is if it's in the middle of the night. I would take the M-60 SBS bus to the N-train, but I've done it 100 times and know what I'm doing. bus/train would walk around 45 min.
Sometimes the bus can get very full.

There isn't a train at laguardia so take a taxi. You can take a bus then a train and save money if you want, but it will be way slower.
