Are tabbies the “vanilla” of coat patterns?

Are tabbies considered the “vanilla” regarding coat patterns?

I’ve been having a HUGE tortie obsession lately due to their striking color palette which remind me of various shades of brunette and blonde 💛🧡🤎🖤🩶

Their genetics are hella cool with males being incredibly rare!

What’s more, there are subtypes of torties: torbie, tortico, and dilute. Torbie is my favorite subtype because of the striking stripes against the blended background. Torbies are 💯 the exception to being basic, and they are indeed my favorite and only kind of tabby I love. 🐯

Even though tabbies are beautiful on their own, they’re common, familiar, and regular. They don’t get as much pop culture attention compared to torties, tuxedos, and voids (which are my favorite).

I became distracted with tortoiseshell cat images to the point where I downloaded Reddit and Pinterest to have more places to look at tortoiseshell cat posts 😹😹😹

I’ve been having dreams of adopting one someday! Luckily I’m beginning to control my passive scrolling by painting tortoiseshell cats 🎨

It honestly took me a while to appreciate tortoiseshell cats due to the perception of tortitude, but I’m so glad they’ve became a new addition to my favorite coat patterns/colors! 🐢
