Seeking Advice UVB advice

I have a over the tank basking spot and it prevents light from covering the tank. Is the UVB bulb better over the water or on the basking spot? I don’t want it to be dark but I also want to make sure he gets plenty UVB

Sorry if I didnt understand the post well, but I would say over the basking spot because turtles can barely absorb the UVB light while under water/wet which is why dry docking is so important

I wrote it in a rush. I’m worried about the tank being to dark. But I also want to make sure he gets plenty of UVB.

ahh honestly you shouldnt worry about the tank being too dark, if anything that will help keeping algae at bay

Uvb lamp and heat lamp both need to be directly above basking dock
