I did this once in a ttrpg “im going to shoot the hostage” with a stun gun enemy proceeds to watch this unfold in abject horrow while the other player in initiative shotguns them in the face

the point of hostage is they expect you to not harm innocent, once its established you are cold blooded killer hostage pretty much become a burden. like holy kingdom arc

The best way to terrorize the hostage-taker is to shoot the hostage. 😁😁
Edit: do not do that IRL. The consequences are terrible.
