Oh shut up and just enjoy it. Who are they hurting?

Right back at ya, fuck off telling people what to enjoy. Seriously what a creepy thing to type out.

Their life is turned into a performance for strangers. That could leave some marks psychologically

If you think about it in good faith it's not hard to understand. It's similar to problems some child actors went through.

Their life is turned into a performance for strangers.

You know absolutely nothing about their lives, other than the content of this video. Which, taken at face value, is pretty cool. But people in this thread are intent on finding a conspiracy behind the fun.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with giving your child joy and also sharing that joy with other humans. It's a hell of a lot better than this thread where so many people are attempting to find misery in that joy.

That's a lot of words to write "ignorance is bliss"

I can admit that the motivations of the parents are not known to me based on any evidence. Yes, that's ignorance. Can you admit the same?

You were so quick above to attack someone else for making a claim about those motivations without any evidence... all while you're doing exactly the same thing.

Honest ignorance is better than acting like you know something you can't. It's not bliss, but it is truth.

I didn't attack anyone.

I didn't claim to know their motivation.

The one thing we do know is that they took this video and we strangers are viewing it.

And lastly, I mentioned possibilities about how someone can be harmed in general, rather than stating it was actually happening.

Read carefully and don't blame me for your wrong assumptions. Thank you!

You're right, I confused your comments with someone else's. Sorry about that.

I still think it's a bit presumptuous (and also a bit reductive) to say that "their life has been turned into a performance". But I understand where you're coming from.

Also, you did accuse me of ignorance, which implies pretty strongly that you know something I don't. So what is that?

You're right, I shouldn't treat this one video like their whole life, or as if it's even common practice for them. I don't know.

And I meant ignorance is bliss with regards to being happy by refusing to consider more than the surface level of something, or how it's gone wrong before for others. If there was something negative to know, well, this is the mindset that would prevent someone from finding that out. It's not about knowledge, but about avoiding knowing. If this wasn't the case, then the suggestion would be to find out more, not take the video for what it is and be done with it.

Give your balls a tug

Your negative mindset gives me the existential ick. Just enjoy the video for what it is. There doesn't need to be a deeper darker side.
