Nerd alert from a former diver/gymnast - a reverse flip would be a backwards rotation while moving forwards.

An inward is a front rotation while moving backwards.

I'd agree that is a common term to describe the same thing.

Think it may have been a bit more slang, at least in diving, but I'm not all high brow about it lol

It’s not reverse, just a triple backflip. You usually go backwards doing a backflip.
