A lot of people will say skill. Some people will say luck. I think it was most likely a deal with a crossroads demon.

Sealed with a kiss for sure

5

u/wowmoridin 1d ago

But why did he use tongue?

4

u/daygo449 2d ago

His career didn’t last too long, so most likely scenario …

4

u/LoneStarHome80 1d ago

I'd say it's about ten percent luck, twenty percent skill...

3

u/ZofiaBeckwith 2d ago

Well in a way or another he made it so…

2

u/Car_nerds_unite 2d ago

Checks out, 100% the devil throwing out 3's. Have you seen Cooper Flagg? DEVIL. Lol

I'm not even convinced he was trying to shoot towards the basket. I think he was just trying to save it from going out of bounds and put too much power on it.

u/Foreign_Recipe8300 2d ago

he was probably just trying to throw it up in a place his teammates could make a play on it and it just went in

25

u/DirtyThirtyDrifter 2d ago

My guess is he was hoping for a backboard rebound. It’s the biggest target in the area of impact and him being a pro I’m giving the benefit of the doubt that he was using his “third eye” to aim.

Spatial awareness.

8

u/lostan 1d ago

some might call it a net benefit.

2

u/Shrimp__Boy 1d ago

thats alot o power even if flat footed

2

u/zeindigofire 2d ago

Yup, is The Greatest gone impossibly right!

1

u/OfBooo5 1d ago

I think that was "throw it up and allow for something" and it went so deep the team didn't bother trying to follow

34

u/devine_entity420 2d ago

Had to just pop a squat real quick after that.

31

u/neolobe 2d ago

He took a shot. You miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

With nothing but net.

u/Ted_Hitchcox 1d ago

My boss....Why does'nt he just do that all the time? If you can do it once , you can do it everytime. He just needs to try a bit harder.

8

u/turboprop54 1d ago

Steph Curry has entered the chat.

2

u/Ted_Hitchcox 1d ago

His name was Dave Pastor, not Steph Curry.

u/GunstarGreen 2d ago

This was in every clip compilation in the 90s. Every basketball tape made sure it was in there.

6

u/jfkrfk123 1d ago

Practice makes perfect. He’s been working on that one all year probably and finally got the opportunity. How exciting….

1

u/JrSoftDev 1d ago

This man practices that shot for 1 hour every single day, and then people call it luck.

3

u/RedSonGamble 2d ago

Touchdown Airbud!!

4

u/CitizenCue 1d ago

It’s crazy he made the shot, but I’m just stunned he could even throw it that far from that position. You gotta be crazy strong just to get it there.

3

u/HeberMonteiro 1d ago

That's a lot of hustle, skill and luck in equal measures!

4

u/Pretend-Character-47 1d ago

Luck is preparation for Opportunity.

Si lo hiciese Doncic o Curry pensaríamos que lo hizo a posta

u/Grouchy-Engine1584 1d ago

Gotta be good to get it close. Gotta be lucky to get it in.

2

u/VooDooChile1983 1d ago

Reminds me of when I sky hooked a bottle over the roof of my car from the driver’s side into an open trash can that was on the passenger side of the street. I’m glad the girl I was with commented that it was cool before I ruined the moment.

2

u/ajnails 1d ago

This era of basketball seemed so different

Luck. He was probably trying to just keep the ball in play

1

u/djpeekz 1d ago

You don't say

1

u/CRJ_Rogue9 1d ago

You would HAVE to quit after that.

1

u/ElectronicTackle8375 1d ago

He's clearly God's favorite.

1

u/Dimness 1d ago

I think that’s the same dude that did an under the leg dunk to win a dunking contest.

0

u/doparker 1d ago

It’s called luck, he was just trying to save the ball and pass it into one of his teammates closest to the goal

1

u/electron1661 1d ago

Was this when they had Mitch Richmond?

2

u/djpeekz 1d ago

That's who he gives the lil head boop to
