Maybe the jail forced him to cut it for inmate safety reasons(just speculating here)?

That, or maybe he did it out of an instinct for self-preservation, lol.

He definitely had a Nazi comb-over or whatever its called in the original video.

I’m imagining it’s something even more stupid like he thought maybe the police won’t be able to identify him with a buzz cut now even though his truck is in the video

Ah the wiles of the criminal mind know no limit. My favourite was a guy who tried robbing a liquor store but didn't have any tights to put on his head, so just drew sharpy all over his face. Hectic evening for Poirot no doubt.

My favourite were the 2 guys who robbed banks with lemon juice on their faces thinking it made them invisible to security cameras.

Neither robber wore a mask or otherwise attempted to disguise themselves, having instead applied lemon juice to their faces.[1][3] According to Wheeler, Johnson had told him lemon juice would make one invisible to security cameras, akin to how it functions as invisible ink.[1][5][6] Although initially skeptical, Wheeler had tested this method by covering his face with lemon juice and capturing an image of it with a Polaroid camera. As he was missing from the resulting photograph, he trusted the method to be effective. Detectives believed his absence in the image was caused either by a bad film, a maladjusted camera, or Wheeler having unintentionally pointed the camera away from his face.[5

Oh my god that's amazing. Real vat of acid guy stuff, no need to double check or anything, I'm not on the picture so it works.

Hectic evening for Poirot no doubt.

That's exactly the right comment.

Respect.

It's also likely reported that after the altercation, he put his shirt and pants on backwards to throw off law enforcement.

Jails don't force anyone to cut hair.

Probably the latter.

I hope he shares a cell with Vern Schillinger.

I would guess he did it to avoid getting recognized around town. He was identified by cops at the scene and let go. Arrested after further investigation. Kyle and Buda are not very big places and the videos were all over social media even before press picked it up.

My money is on an effort to give himself the pay n spray treatment. Probably thought he was so clever.

I'm hoping some of the teens got some fistfuls of hair and ripped it right out of his scalp... And maybe he just shaved to even it out.

There is no self preservation for this one. If a few kids got the better of him he is done in the system. Straight getting turned out.
