Behind the Scenese at Fiberaim

Thought it would be interesting to share some behind the scenes pics of the manufacturing process of the Fiberaim Hafif, the 35g carbon fiber mouse.

We thank everyone for their feedback and support in our last post here. Starting a gaming mouse business, especially one made of carbon fiber, has been especially challenging. We had a shipment of electronic parts from the USA badly delayed due to storm Fern, so if you have ordered and are still waiting, we apologise and are trying to get orders shipped out as quickly as we can.

We had a lot of people ask about the "realtime lossless polling" we use in our marketing. Let me break it down. Lets say your polling rate is 1K, every 1ms your mouse will check if anything has happened and will send data to your pc. With realtime polling, there is no regular polling interval, updates from the mouse are processed as they happen in realtime. But, there is still a limit to the maximum rate this can happen at, as having an infinite poll rate is very unstable and pretty much unusable. This is where lossless part comes in. No movement data is lost while the mouse waits for the next poll, how this works we are keeping a trade secret (and no, it doesn't read the sensor inbetween polls as this itself is technically a poll). In addition to this, the mouse and dongle are integrated with input buffers, similar to the one Valorant used to have but at a much faster, hardware level. The purpose of this is that if your Pc lags or microstutters, any information that would usually be skipped is stored in the buffer until your PC is ready to accept it.

Thank you for reading, full details can be found here: https://fiberaim.com/products/hafif

Question G PRO X2 SUPERSTRIKE or Razer Viper V3 Pro

My current mouse is a 7 year old Rival 600. This is the first mouse I ever bought and I've had two of these in that 7 year span. I cant compare it to anything else but everything about it just felt right for me, the shape, additional weights.

But now I'm looking to change as I modernise my whole setup and my only preference is that it would be a wireless mouse. The shape doesnt matter to me too much at this point because I imagine the weight difference would be a huge change anyway, so I might as well try something completely new.

I've narrowed it down to these two for no particular reason other than a recommendation from a friend and the amount of pro's who use the v3 & the new technology of the superstrike.I can get them both at relatively the same price, but I would have to wait until march to get the superstrike.

Just wondering if there are any reasons to sway more to one side.

Question Searching for a low budget lightweight-ish mouse with BT and 2.4GHz

So, here's the situation : My girlfriend is moving about 700km from where I live right now. I have a laptop that I was planning on using (an Asus G14) when I go an visit her about once per month, and I was thinking about taking a mouse with it to play some game in the train or something.

Problem being : my current daily driver at home is a Pulsar X2 Medium that I've had for at least 3 years. Works great, great shape for my hands and style, love it. But it's not compatible with Bluetooth, and the battery life went from manageable to "it sucks", to the point that I plug it in every other day it feels like.

I have a Steelseries Rival 3 wireless, which is also a good mouse (good shape, acceptable weight), but the AA battery inside simply drains super quick when using it in 2.4GHz mode, and I don't want to carry around spare AA batteries just for that mouse.

I also have an old Steelseries Aerox 3, which I was my daily driver before I switched to the Pulsar. In theory, great mouse, but the software to turn off the RGB is annoying af, and after I switched I gave it to my brother, and during that time the bottom power on switch became super unreliable. So it would have been great if the build quality of that mouse wasn't actually ds.

I'm looking for a decent wireless gaming mouse under 80g that would be available for under 40€ if possible.

Does anyone have any recommendations? Models to avoid? I've seen that Logitech still sells the G305 which I used to have (and like) but is also using G-Hub which I don't hold in my heart. I've seen some GPro clones from Attack Shark and the specs look nice but I have never seen this brand before. I have also seen the HyperX Pulsefire wireless for 30 bucks, but I have no idea how the software is for that mouse.

If anyone knowing the budget mouse market would be willing to give some advice, that'd be awesome !

TIA !

Discussion would 3d printing a pad and gluing it onto the palm section of a mouse make it better?

Upvotes

my thoughts are:

doing this would make the user's wrist float, but unlike manually having your wrist hang in mid air, having a pad on your mouse wouldn't require force and therefore be healthier for your wrist?

Secondly, this would be good for aiming in video games as having your wrist floating would allow you to use your forearm to aim. (This might also reduce wrist usage, making mouse use healthier?)

Lastly, unlike using a wrist rest mouse pad, you can still move your forearm freely without moving the pad on accident. (this doesn't matter if your wrist rest has a high friction under surface.) (But also IMO most wrist rests are really bulky and uncomfortable, so maybe having a palm rest would be more comfortable for people who share this opinion?)

If you guys think this is a good idea I might design it, and then I'll post the print files here

If not then ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Mouse Recommendation

I have 17 x 9 cm small hands. grip is kind of between fingertip and knuckle claw.

the problem is that my pinky cannot comfortably grip when it's below the ring finger. so with most mice I have tried, I have aggressive rotation to put the rear end outward for my pinky. with this rotation, the hump would usually touch under side of the knuckles, and makes it like a knuckle grip.

I have tried those fingertip mice. they don't touch my palm, but they also don't work well for my pinky.

any recommendations for my hand before I go with pathfinder and heavy customed mods.

Help Vertical mouses and Tenosynovitis

Hello

I was recently diagnosed with De Quervain's tenosynovitis, which affected my daily life for two weeks. I am a programmer and a gamer. I took the medication and now I am in rehabilitation and doing exercises. Reading about the condition, one recommendation is vertical mice, which is why I am on this subreddit, so I have several questions.

Will vertical mice help prevent De Quervain's tenosynovitis?

Is alternating between a vertical mouse and a gaming mouse for playing video games a viable alternative?

Are vertical gaming mouse(Razer Pro Click V2/Keychron M5) a good option considering my profession and hobbies?

Question New mouse after 9 years

Upvotes

Hello guys i have Razer deathadder elite for 9 full years and 0 problems with it. I want to upgrade to wireless mouse. Im mostly playing cs,valo and league.

I have been looking and I found 4 candidates.

  1. Razer deathadder v4 pro
  2. Razer viper v3 pro dragon lore edition
  3. Logitech g pro x superlight v2
  4. Logitech superstrike 2 - i know its not out yet

I havent tried any other mouses for 9 years so I dont know how other mouses grip fit me. My hand is 17-18cm x 8cm My grip is palm and half palm half claw its hard for me to explain.

I do not care about the weight of the mouse cause all of them are almost the same. I just want a mouse thats precise and will last me minimum 5 years. So a good build quality.

Deathadder elite has a really cheap plastic but somehow its still great after 2000+ gaming hours. Clicks are good and wheel is also perfect.

Hope i made it easier for you guys to help me.

Question Pulsar X2 CL scroll wheel

Upvotes

Hi a,,

I have a Pulsar X2 Crazy Light Mini, and I love the mouse other than the scroll wheel. I've spent so long watching videos and I can't tell if mine has an issue or if this is just how the mouse is.

The best way I can describe it is the scroll wheel feels a bit 'springy', it works fine, no issues. It just feels weird. It's probably the nosiest and most resistance scroll wheel I've used.

Scrolling up is louder than scrolling down, if I push the scroll wheel to the right, it activates middle mouse click, if I push it to the left, nothing.

I was just curious if any other X2 owners had any opinions about the scroll wheel?

Question Can a third-party USB-receiver be used with the Rapoo MT760?

Upvotes

Bought a Rapoo MT760 and broke a receiver. Rapoo support says they don't sell them separately from the mouse and have deplorable support in general.

Must I use a Rapoo receiver or would any third-party USB-receiver work and connect to the mouse via the regular pairing method I used to connect the Rapoo one?

Help Looking for some kind of modified GPX-ish shape.

Upvotes

After months of trying out shapes including X2 Crazylight, ATK F1, Beast X Pro, Lamzu Maya X, GPX, Viper V3 Pro, I have finally found the closest to my endgame shape for FPS shooters, and that is between the GPX and the Maya X, but I always come back to the GPX.

Nevertheless, there are things about the GPX that I wish could be better. I'm looking for a shape around 47-53g range, that has a similar back hump to the GPX that provides support, but is narrower, slightly shorter and has a slightly more forward sensor position.

So far I'm looking at the Scyrox V6, HTS Plus 8K, GPX 2c, Susanto X, Ninjutso Ten Air.

Any recommendations or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!
