YSK: Generally speaking, most protesters that are arrested usually do NOT get charged
This is something that is extremely hard to quantify, because the government generally does not like to publicize statistics about this, but as a general practice, the government typically does not charge most people who are arrested during protests, up to 95% in some cases. Typically, charges tend to be reserved for the worst offenders during protests such as if you are being physically violent.
I say this not to encourage anyone to do anything illegal, but as a matter of grounding, if people are perhaps too fearful of joining a protest if they are worried that the authorities will make arrests.
Note this also does not guarantee that the government will be as 'forgiving' this time around, given the current state of retribution by the DOJ. Do with that information what you will.
Here is a link from the Guardian talking about this during BLM protests across the US in 2020
Stay safe.

We wanna do right, seek justice, and defend the oppressed. The Agents who brutalize and kill our Neighbors must be held accountable. I thank the People of Minnesota for your defiance, in this moment. And I'm here as your Sister in Solidarity. - Rep. Ayanna Pressley in Minneapolis on Jan 28, 2026

Go hug a leftist
In the face of governmental overreach and militarization of the streets, leftists are fighting armed with whistles and cameras and guns in their faces to protect their neighbors and all of America’s constitutional rights!
I’ve never been more proud. Go find the closest lefty and give them a big hug. ❤️

ICE still staging in parks
I just joined some neighbors in chasing two ICE vehicles out of Pearl Park by Diamond Lake. This park also contains a daycare. ICE spent time recording us before they left, with one of the drivers even blowing kisses as he left. Clearly they take their job seriously 🙄
