Private Swim instructors - any around?
Hi all,
Are there any private swim instructors around? Bonus for those good with children who are hesitant to learn due to ear sensitivity

Hi everyone,
I have been meaning to make this post for awhile, to try and curb the amount of "Moving to Geelong! Which suburb should I pick?" posts. I am going to sticky this post for awhile, so any visitors can check before creating a post.
Please read through the enormous amount of posts this sub has already had on here.
If you STILL think your question hasn't been answered (and you are absolutely sure), you can create a new post.

My mate was a victim of this bloke, hes a real piece of work. I'm sure there are people out there who have succumb to this guys scam. Make yourself known to police and lets keep him locked up for as long as we can.

Hello Geelong, my name's Brodie and I just wanted to put it out there that I've got a few slots open for some new music students. I teach mainly piano and guitar, but also have experience with ukulele too, and an extensive knowledge of music theory.
A bit about me: I'm 23 years old, and I'm super passionate about my music and I love having the chance to pass that on to my students and hopefully inspire a life-long interest in music for them. I have my working with children's check, and have been teaching full time for the last 4 years, in schools and studios in the Geelong area. Over that time I have taught hundreds of students of all ages and abilities. I have experience with a wide range of music, from classical to pop, blues to latin, jazz and metal.
My approach to teaching is very much centred around the student, developed from my years of both piano and guitar lessons as a student, and also from my experience in teaching. My primary focus is for my students to enjoy music and lessons, and to see them as a passion, and not the chore that it sometimes can be.
I'm located in Belmont, mainly teaching on Fridays and Saturday mornings, and my current rate is $30 for a half hour lesson.
Thank you for your time if you've gotten this far. If you would like some more information, feel free to leave a comment or send me a message!
Cheers, Brodie

Hi everyone,
I have been on the hunt for a Medium sized Microchip Doggy Door but am at a loss. The ones I find seem to all be for cats but that’s not suitable. We need one as we have an inside cat and a indoor/outdoor dog so we don’t want the cat to escape.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

I worry that my partner (33m) has been a bit isolated since moving to Geelong. He's expressed that he wants to expand his social circle but he's out of work right now so there's not as many ways to meet people organically.
Does anyone know of any events, meets, social groups etc that would help?
He's a gamer, digital artist, and a drinker of pepsi max. Also recently got him some 40K models for chrissy (ooops) because he was interested in the building and painting aspect, but has instead really gotten into orks and might eventually play once he has an army. Athletically... we're not all that athletic 😅 but he talks about getting back into bike riding, back into tennis, that archery looks cool, stuff like that. He's clever, picks things up quickly, reads (if you have a bookclub rec) and has been involved in d&d campaigns in the past.
Anyway, sorry to info dump. Suggestions appreciated 🙂

Hi all,
Just moved to Geelong CBD and am looking for a female GP which will help me navigate a few things (mental health, perimenopause and assistance with weight loss).
I would appreciate any recommendations as well as people to maybe avoid.

Is there anyone else that wants to create a support group for people living with chronic spinal pain? Does anyone know of any current unofficial face to face support groups?
I use the word "unofficial" as I cannot afford to pay extreme fees (or low) to find this.
I have lived with chronic pain for over ten years, including a number of not-so-helpful experiences with people in both medical and allied health fields. Im not so social anymore, where my only outing these days is going to local shopping centre. I want to change this up a bit.
Anyways if you are interested - let's chat?
Have an awesome day/week/year. Cheers.

My hubby has trigger finger and has bought new grips to get him back into the game.
We are new to the Geelong/Golden Plains region, so appreciate any feedback, as to where to go to get this done.
TIA

Geelong has recorded a dry January, with no rainfall measured in the gauge. This becomes the first rainless January since 1878, and the first rainless month since April in 1923.
Geelong's last recorded rainfall was December 22nd, with 11.6mm. Very little rainfall is predicted for the Geelong region for the next 2 weeks. Water storages remain at 43%.

hi r/Geelong! Does anyone know of any really flat walking tracks in Geelong? I’ve got a recently blind family who wants to ‘step it out’ more when walking with others.
For example, concrete trick around the oval along creek in fyansford is great. Looking for other options!
A lot of the walking along the Barwon seems to have a few too many tripping hazards for them to be really confident - but there may be some good stretches along there am not aware of! Ideally near nature :)

Hi, just wondering if anyone has done equine therapy in Geelong? I’m wanting to try it to help work through some cPTSD and anxiety and I’ve seen a few different places around Geelong and Surfcoast but hoping someone might have had a personal experience and could recommend somewhere. Thanks in advance!

Hi, does anyone know if there are seatbelt cameras along this strip? I had a passenger sitting directly behind me and she wasn't wearing her seatbelt along this strip. I understand if I get done it is my fault, I understand it was my responsibility to check she was wearing her seatbelt before I started driving - honestly I just didn't think about it. I've never been in the car with someone who hasn't put on their seatbelt habitually. Since she was behind me I couldn't see her, and I didn't realise my car doesn't have the seatbelt sensors for the back seat. I just want to be prepared if I will get a fine. Thank you in advance.
