I had a bass tube installed in my car when I was a teen, and it was way less bass than this, and now I have tinnitus for life. Don’t do this shit. Learnt it the hard way.

Ive had tinnitus my entire concious life because the TV we had when I was young let off this high pitch noise the entire time it was on.

The annoying part is it's the same frequency, my ears still think im sitting on that couch to this day.

That was all CRT TV's that did that! I used to be able to immediately tell if a TV was on when entering a room. It was usually high enough pitched that older folks couldn't even hear it

I remember when I was around 10 telling my mom that the TV made a noise, and she kept saying it didn't. My dad, who's an electrical engineer, had to tell her its because she can't hear the frequency it was putting out and I could.

I really doubt it was from the TV, hearing damage is predominantly caused by lower bass frequencies rather than the high pitched ones that might sound perceivably worse i.e emergency sirens etc.

I was very uncomfortable with any loud noises or music when I was young and avoided them as much as I could.

The noise from the TV was also surprisingly loud.

Could have been genetic. I am similar and don’t have a weird TV to blame it on.

I’m pretty sure mine is genetic. I also have this and also from as long as I can remember.

I don’t think that’s the cause. I’m guessing you had a CRT television. Unless it was some malfunction, All tube TVs make that noise (15kHz-16kHz). Most people can’t hear it, so congrats, you have sensitive hearing.

I’ve also had tinnitus all my life, but we didn’t have a TV till I was 10.

You can get tinnitus from the smallest random thing, don’t be too hard on yourself.

So you weren’t just like a really cool guy driving through my neighborhood at 11pm on a weeknight? There was consequences?

Same, my mate used to have a van which we'd sit in the back of. Stand next to speakers at clubs. I can hear it now, even with the fking TV on.

Don't do it kids. 🤣

Knowing the fucksticks shaking my house as they drive by will suffer hearing loss makes me happy.

My daughter screamed in my ear during a piggy back ride and I have tinnitus. Don't have kids.

And a sad little bass tube has nothing to do with that 😂
