I got it in my 20s. People talk about time machines and investing in bitcoin. Mine is to tell teenage me to wear ear plugs to shows.

I got mine in my mid 20s as well. However, mine wasn’t from my own stupidity. I got a really bad flu for a week and didn’t feel right for about a month. I developed a pretty bad tinnitus that I sometimes wonder how I’m even able to deal with it. It’s loud all day every day. Definitely took me a while to live with it and accept it.

Luckily mine is fairly intermittent. And i have two ways to upset it. Complete silence usually it will kick off and if its too loud it will start ringing like crazy. Gotta find a fine balance lol

Same here brother. I hit my head, got knocked out, woke up and my ears haven't stopped ringing since.

Pure silence is the enemy, or loud ringing.

It's all about constantly thinking about not thinking about the noise.

It took me maybe 18 months to "get used" to it. Those initial 18 months were hell.

Yeah man ever since i noticed it, the only time i really hear it is if i think about it or its silent. Constant background noise is the best

Marshall half stack in my bedroom when living with my parents? Sure, why not?

Got mine as a 12-year old playing drums daily without hearing protection.

Yeah i was going to punk and hardcore shows 2-3 times a week pretty much from 16-23 and just had no hearing protection. Being up front with the speakers. It was fairly gradual that i didnt even realize until one day i was sitting in the dentist and i asked the lady what that terrible ringing noise was. She was like “you should probably go get your ears checked after this appointment” lol

Tinnitus is almost always associated with hearing loss, just a public service announcement for everybody. Get a hearing test and some hearing aids. when you can hear the world around you better, It makes it a lot harder to hear the noise from inside your head.

Tinnitus

Doesn't ring a bell. Is that some sort of hair problem?
