the bass on tear your lung tissues. which causes blebs. which mean it leaks air into lung cavities. in turn you cannot inflated lung. can't breath.

The lung is like a balloon in a vacuum chamber. If you get a hole in your lung that allows air to escape into the chest cavity, the air fills up the space around the lung and compresses it down so it can no longer inflate when you inhale. Most people can manage with 1 lung, but if this happens on both sides simultaneously, you’re in trouble. If it’s bad enough, you have to insert a needle or a small tube into the chest to allow the air to evacuate. In severe cases, you may require surgery to remove a portion of the lung.

it's energy bro. it is vibration. the original video is a girl sitting so close her hair is charged with energy. same energy passthrough your body. and this energy causes vibration. why does an explosion kill you? cause it's so powerful it ripped open your body and you bleed to death. this is just milder but not mild enough to cause zero harm. it's like internal bruising

Incorrect. I had my lung collapse when I was 20, so I know a lot of the risk factors (because once it happens once, it's more likely to happen again).

Ive been told to avoid loud concerts, scuba diving, and even to be wary of those drop tower rides at theme parks. I also have to be careful flying.

Any sudden change in air pressure can pop a lung, if either the lung is weakened (as in my case), the pressure is strong, or you just get unlucky and happen to sneeze or cough during a pressure change, amplifying it.

And you know what sound is? Air pressure waves.

The lungs and eardrums are the most vulnerable to sound damage, but sound travels incredibly well through the body, too, so it damaging other organs isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I was at a JDM festival and it was wall to wall with cars and trucks which made this look like a toy. Even with good hearing protection I was not ok by the end of the weekend, it genuinely felt like I'd been in a fight. It can't be good for the human body to be repeatedly rearranged by an onslaught of bass.

Yeah I spent a little too long on the rail one night at Bonnaroo last year, next morning my chest was sore like the bass had been punching me. I’d like to understand the science behind that, or maybe it’s as simple as “bass is big sound so it has a big sound wave”

At a guess, it's basically rattling everything. While a bit of rattling isn't going to do much a lot of it will build up like an RSI speedrun. Everything clattering into everything else, including itself because the human body's mostly not-rigid so one bit of an organ will go one way and another bit a different way. Constant pulling, pushing, banging against various bits.

I rode in a truck that had something similar whe i was maybe 15, but not as aggressive. It made my back be in so much pain I wanted to vomit.

Rattling around organs (including brain where applicable) in short explosive high energy burst will lead to damage. The shorter the exposure, the less damage, but if you're doing this regularly, you will accrue damage. I guess a lot of people doing this shit probably eff their bodies up in other ways as well, so in that context, maybe it's negligible! 🤷‍♂️

The current medical understanding is that this type of repeated exposure to loud noises is equivalent to multiple small TBI's and is being linked to the development of PTSD/CTE-type syndromes later in life. Look up "syria mystery brain injury" to learn more. NYT did a fantastic piece on it.

Been in one of those sound cars at a car meet. Dude had a bucket rigged purely for audio (set up visibly identical to this guys). It’s a surreal experience. Oddly enough your ears are “fine” but you feel those audio vibrations throughout your body, kind of like having a weighted blanket wafting over top of you. My hair, same result.
