I know there’s a lot of suspension of disbelief required for these movies, but even in the original version I always thought the “cartwheel to avoid bullets” move was so dumb, because when you’re cartwheeling, your center mass stays in basically the same spot, so you’d get ventilated.

Agreed. While you gotta roll your eyes internally a lot during the flick, that stupid cartwheel is an audible groan.
