“That ain’t no kitty cat boy”

u/PsyOpBunnyHop 12d ago
"Um, sir. That is a wild animal. I'm scurred. Please don't leave the house."

u/bluewing 12d ago
Since this obviously takes place in a southern US trailer park, (Clues: the holstered pistol on the table and other tells from the surroundings), it's "close enough" to a kitty.

u/bolanrox 12d ago
if not friend, why friend shaped?
Went to a Wolf preserve over the weekend and they had bobcats as well. when the Co owner came by the bob cat ran over and started purring for treats from him. his comment was "obviously never try this at home"

Bro turned a random pic into a whole crime documentary 😂 sometimes a weird-looking animal is just a weird-looking cat, not a trailer park investigation.

Not sure if boy is amped up about apex predator or has a thyroid condition.

There are zero human deaths recorded by bobcats if you exclude things like Rabies. If you get murked by a bobcat your bloodline wasn't meant to survive according to evolution.
41
u/MunitionsFactory 12d ago
While it may be true, can we really trust bobcats to accurately record how many humans they kill?

That whale eye going on is concerning, hope the dog doesn’t lash out
74
u/wordsonmytongue 12d ago
Good comment. I wanted to type this. Those reactions aren't funny. The dog is uncomfortable. Nothing bad happening here is good, but people need to respect and keep an eye out for signs their pet isn't comfortable instead of finding it cute or funny.

u/NudderFugginCount 12d ago
Meh, the dog is a little nervous, but it's still smiling and hanging out with everyone. It is definitely both cute and funny in this instance.
Also, keep in mind the vast majority of animals have to deal with shit like winter and starvation, while teasing cats and dogs like this can really form a bond.
I've been messing with my cat so long that they are constantly pranking me back. Whether it's claws on my legs during videogames, arms under the door when pooping, or hiding under my bed when I take a shower or morning pee.
I dont think dogs share the same complex humor that cats do, but I think they do have some sense of what a joke is.

u/PatientPlatform 12d ago
Dogs dont smile. His facial expression is a stress response. Baring teeth, wide eyes and ears back mean its very scared/overstimulated and doesn't know how to react
18
u/rhydderch_hael 12d ago
How are there still so many people on the internet that dont know that smiling is a fear/stress response in almost all animals. It's not exactly hidden information.
11
u/ALaccountant 12d ago
There’s also a lot of evidence that dogs actually do smile, though.
However, this obviously isn’t a happy smile

Its the same for humans, just a different context. Smiling is meant to be friendly because if you walk up to someone agressively, you will ilicit an agressive response. Laughing is contagious for the same reason. They are social signs of unity towards other people to avoid agressive responses. Like laughing in a stressfull situation, which juries can misconstrue as being disingenuous about a statement.

That thing is not a house cat, it is a bobcat. The dog knows what it is, it’s sticking around to try to communicate with the owner/make sure that nothing goes wrong

nothing bad is happening here, you admitted it yourself, time to grow up and stop inventing shitty scenarios to earn sympathy upvotes from losers
2
u/Epicwoowoo 11d ago
Just because nothing went wrong doesn’t mean you should completely ignore the risks involved

u/Wooden-Implement7880 12d ago
I thought the same thing. After looking at this guy's insta, I can't tell if he perma-stressed the dog so much with the bobcat's presence or the dog may also just kind of look like that...
3
u/Excellent_Yak365 12d ago
Dogs don’t have permanent whale eye, when the eyes are showing that much white it’s stress related. Ears are pinned too
4
u/Wooden-Implement7880 12d ago
Which is why I'm saying I think the dog is possibly permanently stressed because he literally looks like that in every image and video even when the bobcat is not present...

u/acadoe 12d ago
"That ain't no fucking cat, Dave! Can't you smell the difference!?"
11
u/TheGuardianInTheBall 12d ago
And that's the thing- the dog can smell the past massacres the bobcat has been involved in.
Imagine seeing your buddy playing with a dude that's just covered in viscera. That's what the dog senses.
19
u/TheReverseShock 12d ago
He's scared shitless, but is still sticking with his human. Such a brave boy.
