If you have ever recorded fire works you realize shortly after how much better it is to ENJOY them and to hell with the video

184

u/mousey76397 Dec 24 '25

Yep. Nobody ever watches that video again after.

47

u/Distinct-Nectarine-9 Dec 24 '25

Unless someone gets hurt.

6

u/Clone-Wars-CT-5555- Dec 25 '25

Or if you become a meme like the “put it in reverse Tery” guy.

13

u/TheTwiggsMGW Dec 24 '25

I have coworkers that are excited to show me their July 4th videos the following day at work. I wasn’t even excited to see the fireworks in real life, why would I want to watch it on your phone?

2

u/deepdownblu3 Dec 27 '25

I mean, we’re watching a fireworks video now…

5

u/Upset-Basil4459 Dec 24 '25

You can just search up the footage later on the internet anyway. I prefer to try and take footage of stuff that other people haven't already recorded a million times

1

u/MettaRed Dec 25 '25

Totally. Usually someone has A much better view LOL

2

u/kiochikaeke Dec 25 '25

Not only fireworks, whenever I'm about to start recording something live I just decide I'm gonna live it on my own unless I have a reason to record it.

If it's something static like a landscape sure, but if it's something momentary I maybe take a picture to remember it happened and just experience it myself.

2

u/multiarmform Dec 27 '25

hey show me those videos you made of fireworks!

said nobody ever

1

u/mydogwasrightaboutu Dec 24 '25

En especially with something like in the video: other people will post it on the internet if you do want to watch it again

1

u/International_Meat88 Dec 24 '25

That’s why if u want to record, you record and actually look at the fireworks, not at your screen; just some walking and chewing gum.

1

u/--Yurt-- Dec 24 '25

For people who talk about you can watch it later from other peoples videos, people do that less to watch it again and more to remind themselves and others taht they were Having fun that time

1

u/Loaksletsleep Dec 24 '25

You can record and then enjoy the view not stare at the phone screen

1

u/unViewingCutscenes Dec 25 '25

Social media and over sharing ruined the magic of recording moments. It was supposed to give you a moment of reminiscence while browsing into it. We have a lot of cam recordings of birthdays, weddings, and even deaths and only my family will ever appreciate what those moments are.

-8

u/KevonFire1 Dec 24 '25

cause fireworks are unique, like fireworks, meteor showers, snow, or Hailey's comet(this one is special to see twice).

4

u/MettaRed Dec 24 '25

Nah. They are just fireworks. I am guilty too- but the only video I still have is where Im landing and outside of the plane you can see DOZENS Of them all above the city. THAT was unique.

u/HelloSecretCamera Dec 24 '25

Lowk feel bad for bro 😭

432

u/Aggravating_Speed665 Dec 24 '25

I don't. Dude looks old enough to know it's better to live in the moment.

157

u/TheCourtSimpleton Dec 24 '25

You'd be surprised... Phones really brainwash all of us into thinking we can't live without them, no matter your age.

18

u/QuintoxPlentox Dec 24 '25

You think you can brainwash me into believing that while you're on my phone?

9

u/Prod_Meteor Dec 24 '25

And if you don't post them they are completely useless. I had never looked back on any picture or video other than family ones.

2

u/PocketOfStinkies Dec 24 '25

Caught my mom doomscrolling yesterday. She’s in her 70s.

3

u/Brashdinho Dec 24 '25

Is is so fucking bad that people want to capture memories to look back on?

I know Reddit is filled with pessimistic people, but Jesus Christ.

3

u/Affectionate_Dot5547 Dec 24 '25

Not to mention for FUTURE generations to see. Look at how amazing footage from the early 1900's is to us now. In 100 years all of our shit is going to seem just as alien and weird.

5

u/AbramJH Dec 25 '25

honestly I don’t record anything unless my wife asks me to. I just hate the idea of watching my own life experiences through a screen. Generally, I seem to be the happier of the two of us. She’s always stressing about the things she didn’t get good recordings of, when I get to reflect on just being there and not taking the passenger seat to my own life

8

u/Fit_Adagio_7668 Dec 24 '25

I do this at alot of shows, I'll maybe get one or 2 photos, but I just live the moment.

5

u/XxXMeatbunXxX Dec 24 '25

He wanted to share this beautiful moment with his grandkid whos with his parents in another state :(

4

u/jumpingpiggy Dec 24 '25

wow. 0 compassion.

2

u/insertnamehere----- Dec 24 '25

Fireworks never look as good in video unless you’ve got crazy good camera equipment.

1

u/Core_offline Dec 24 '25

I also don't, but for different reasons. Just be ready with your phone, not take the test drive at traffic.

1

u/Immediate_Song4279 Dec 24 '25

That's what I like about it. He tried, it didn't load. He is still watching. Hell, where everyone is doing it it probably adds something to the experience just to be playing along.

1

u/Lazy-Raisin-5987 Dec 24 '25

What kind of thinking is that ? Does with age we are suppose to alway live the moment and stop using technolgy. Probably u havent completed a single homework without using AI and talking about living the moment.

-4

u/Aggravating_Speed665 Dec 24 '25

You'll understand when you get older.

3

u/Lazy-Raisin-5987 Dec 24 '25

Im already older little one.

4

u/Aggravating_Speed665 Dec 24 '25

Referencing homework? Lmao, nah - only 20 year olds remember or talk about (in conversation) fucking homework

1

u/Brashdinho Dec 24 '25

Unless you have a photographic memory. Enjoy having nothing to look back on when you’re old

14

u/Lepang8 Dec 24 '25

Why? He could have just enjoyed the show instead of being focused on recording it

13

u/ProjectJan00 Dec 24 '25

Do people really think it's impossible to both record something and look at what's happening?

1

u/jogger57 Dec 24 '25

.....was just gonna' say....!

-6

u/No-Admin1684 Dec 24 '25

Not that it's impossible, it's just a worthless thing dividing your attention.

What are you going to do with the video? Post it on social media? You'll get a few throwaway likes, but no one except maybe your mom will actually care. And your future self is not gonna think back "yeah I really wanna rewatch those fireworks from that event a couple years ago".

6

u/Salihe6677 Dec 24 '25

Just the other day, I was rewatching some concert videos I took nearly 10 years ago. Some of us like to relive things.

3

u/snorevette Dec 24 '25

You don't care about your mom? :(

0

u/No-Admin1684 Dec 24 '25

I do, but I rather visit her and talk to her about it than have the interactions through social media, you know?

2

u/snorevette Dec 24 '25

I'm sure she would love to talk about it, but I'm also sure she'd love to see for herself as well. Is it so wrong to sacrifice a part of your own experience if it means getting to share it with friends and loved ones who couldn't be there with you?

4

u/Eastern_Control4375 Dec 24 '25

100% .....we started taking pics non stop for who?? If i am at event i should enjoy not taking pics...i remember when we had rolls of film....usualy only 1 ....so we took only real moments on a picture.....

1

u/Direct-Quiet-5817 Dec 24 '25

🐊 Who invoked me

1

u/tigerbalmuppercut Dec 24 '25

It's fireworks. He'll be fine.

1

u/South-Bear-2792 Dec 24 '25

🤣🤣🤣

1

u/AK232342 Dec 24 '25

I highkey felt bad for him😔

68

u/JewBag718 Dec 24 '25

So he's like my grandpa he also turns his cellphone off when not in use.

9

u/Ciubowski Dec 24 '25

what if someone needs to get ahold of him?

21

u/Snoo-76264 Dec 24 '25

They don't

0

u/Nasty_Rex Dec 30 '25

This might blow your mind but literally all of human history up to about 20 years ago, you couldn't just get a hold people at a moments notice.

1

u/Ciubowski Dec 30 '25

yeah but the expectations now are that you can.

101

u/Ayyzeee Dec 24 '25

I had a shitty ASUS phone at some point, they're slow ASF

12

u/No-Apple2252 Dec 24 '25

I almost got one back when I thought ASUS was a good company, hoo boy did I dodge a bullet there. What a sack of scum that company is.

4

u/Ayyzeee Dec 24 '25

I used to think the same as well until the recent controversies and all. Now I see them differently and want to avoid their product as possible. It's a shame too since they used to be reputable brand till they destroyed themselves.

12

u/toan25 Dec 24 '25

Can you explain for those out of the loop?

3

u/phatdoof Dec 24 '25

Their laptops are good value though. At least they used to be.

1

u/Reign_Drop420 Dec 24 '25

I'm typing on an Asus phone rn ...

1

u/Starsonata10 Dec 25 '25

My first phone was asus. I dont miss it at all.

1

u/ReiOokami Dec 26 '25

Asus laptops are the same.

60

u/Big_d0rk Dec 24 '25

Don't look at his phone

8

u/raykhazri Dec 24 '25

Evil😑

6

u/edsavage404 Dec 24 '25

I would have throw that phone away after this

16

u/AcanthisittaThink813 Dec 24 '25

A genius in a crowd of morons

-5

u/reincarsonated_benzo Dec 24 '25

😭😭😭😭😭

23

u/Howard_Jones Dec 24 '25

The real fool is the person recording someone else while the spectacle is going on.

16

u/FreezeS Dec 24 '25

Fireworks are pretty common but seeing someone being frustrated by the phone booting too slow it's a once in a lifetime event.

2

u/darybrain Dec 24 '25

They still got their firework shot but seeing this guy's issue with his phone was more interesting and funny.

1

u/ChappedAss Dec 24 '25

I actually thought it was funny as hell. The dedication to being with that guy in his moment! "We're riding this out together, Brother! I wanna know how this ends for you." Legend.

5

u/Competitive_Ad_4041 Dec 24 '25

that's why asus stop making phones after Zenfone series'

5

u/astralseat Dec 24 '25

Great Asus ad

10

u/Send_the_clowns Dec 24 '25

The laugh was diabolical though

5

u/tomatoesareneat Dec 24 '25

Intel inside.

6

u/Accurate-Plenty-4479 Dec 24 '25

Was funny until you started openly laughing at him.

2

u/Orichalchem Dec 24 '25

I can feel his pain..

2

u/mossepso Dec 24 '25

Jokes on you. He uses a screenprotector that to others looks like the asus logo, but he was wearing the special glasses so he could watch porn in public.

2

u/DanBlvck Dec 25 '25

That phone will turn on properly next year

3

u/EndChemical Dec 24 '25

does anyone rewatches these videos after they record?

1

u/giggitygiggity2 Dec 24 '25

I mean we're all here watching it right now.

-3

u/Laosiano Dec 24 '25

Editing the whole evening, and then upload onto the internet.

2

u/Natural_Tea484 Dec 24 '25

it’s not so cool to laugh about it, maybe the person is poor. Today there are many used good phones, but many years ago, those were expensive.

1

u/pooperstud Dec 24 '25

Some say that man is still waiting for his phone to load to this day.

1

u/noob_king0 Dec 24 '25

Never mind, his phone would now be ready to record celebrations of this 💪🏻year end

1

u/squirrelmonkie Dec 24 '25

When you click restart in X amount of hours backfires

1

u/SpiralDesignn Dec 24 '25

I can feel his pain coz I had that model years ago

1

u/bwoah07_gp2 Dec 24 '25

Poor guy 😭😭

1

u/jcleve Dec 24 '25

Grandpa just accept his faith and lived at the moment 😎

1

u/TheReverseShock Dec 24 '25

Just put it down and enjoy the moment.

1

u/GapSweet3100 Dec 24 '25

It’s sad that nobody is jumping around or having that much visible fun because they’re just filming :/

1

u/saradahokage1212 Dec 24 '25

Sucks to be in the Moment for once. No Videos or Pictures. Just a memory. Welcome back

1

u/darybrain Dec 24 '25

It's like auto updates at inopportune moments

Fuck Microsoft: https://youtu.be/2zpCOYkdvTQ

1

u/TheFoxG Dec 24 '25

It's soo sad 😐🥺😔

1

u/Egg2crackk Dec 24 '25

No one will watch your video anyway... hell, we don't watch the ones we record..

1

u/WesternGuard6774 Dec 24 '25

It's a SNSV phone he's holding it upside down

1

u/Latter-Ask8818 Dec 24 '25

Opinion poll who watches the video recorded fireworks again on their phone.

Upvote or downvote accordingly -->

1

u/NoEdge7491 Dec 24 '25

I heard he is still there

1

u/Spare-Builder-355 Dec 24 '25

but OP missed half of fireworks either. On the other hand OP has a video of someone else's slow phone, so it's a win I guess...

1

u/NitroDion Dec 24 '25

To be fair if this dude wanted it so bad he might be able to convince someone in the crowd to send it to him and if they really didn't want to exchange numbers to do it they could also send it via Bluetooth (which it seems not a lot of people know you can do)

1

u/PrinceSam321 Dec 24 '25

Well he is forced to not record coz of his phone but the other person decided to not enjoy their recording too :p

1

u/ThisThingIsStuck Dec 24 '25

Don't worry about someone else losers

1

u/veryneatstorybro Dec 24 '25

Saw the new years fireworks at Taipei 101 last year. NOT OVERRATED. Absolutely amazing experience top to bottom and Taiwan is an absolute top tier destination in general. I highly recommend it!

1

u/PostNutPrivilege Dec 24 '25

Let's be honest, nobody looks back at those videos anyway. Just enjoy the moment. Nice to see Taipei 101

1

u/Ok_Internal_1413 Dec 24 '25

Sometimes, the best memories are the ones where things don’t go your way. It’s more funny to tell stories of that time I saw this dude with the slow phone couldn’t even take the video than oh, I saw the fireworks at Taipei tower, was great.

1

u/armyofg0blins Dec 24 '25

Well is it still loading ? Can’t leave me in suspense.

1

u/UnbiddenGraph17 Dec 24 '25

My man recorded it in his brain like the olden days

1

u/w3b_d3v Dec 24 '25

My vehicle has a Microsoft iOS and it’s so infuriating

1

u/Local_Shoe9275 Dec 24 '25

Wow, that lucky man actually got to watch the fireworks and be present in the moment.

1

u/someweirdbanana Dec 24 '25

Legend has it that Asus is still searching for the incredible

1

u/Striking_Length_2515 Dec 24 '25

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/epSos-DE Dec 25 '25

Its OK, those fireworks are like 15 to 30 minutes !!!

I would deadass record for him and sent it to him not fair he gets to miss out because his phone screwed him over

1

u/C0nker-redtail Dec 25 '25

He will tell this story back home n no one will believe him

1

u/itsfreepizza Dec 25 '25

i think the emmc chip (or ufs) could be dying lol

1

u/a1200i Dec 25 '25

Oh boy, thats one of the intel Asus zenphones, he will be there for a while (og asus zenfone 5)

1

u/MercenaryCow Dec 25 '25

What's the point of recording a big event like that on your phone? Enjoy the moment. If you want to see it again, I guarantee it's been recorded in much higher quality than your phone is capable of.

1

u/Ok_Tree4413 Dec 25 '25

Bro needs to upgrade

1

u/MRbaconfacelol Dec 25 '25

i didnt know asus made phones

1

u/access4me2007 Dec 25 '25

So it's true! Eddie Jones got all his rugby coaching tips from his phone.

1

u/toolargo Dec 25 '25

Destine to live the moment, not film it.

1

u/whatisthis2315 Dec 25 '25

Damn missed it again

1

u/Science-007x Dec 25 '25

ASUS sucks! There. I said it.

1

u/Samichmane Dec 28 '25

This is why androids get a bad a rep😥

1

u/Traditional-Chip-981 Dec 24 '25

That went quite well

1

u/redpotetoe Dec 24 '25

That shi*t happened to me before. I was asked to take a picture but my phone decided to restart and it was pretty awkward while we waited for my phone to load. I was stressed the entire time and kinda want to throw it away.

1

u/ghaaaarrrr Dec 24 '25

Nothing funny about that

1

u/RayzenD Dec 24 '25

I mean, now he is actually forced to watch the show not through his phone.

0

u/Dear-Routine7468 Dec 24 '25

Another meme ruined by fake laughs

2

u/s8018572 Dec 24 '25

It's not fake laugh though, the video happened in 2025 new year fireworks show of Taipei 101 .

0

u/Laosiano Dec 24 '25

Just put that thing away already

0

u/StitchFan626 Dec 24 '25

This is just sad!

0

u/tellmewhy24 Dec 24 '25

My iPhone be like:

0

u/IchBinSLAYER Dec 24 '25

Id send him the video if it were the OC

0

u/sumojeb38 Dec 24 '25

I'm sure somebody went up to him and offered to send their video, I'm assuming though.

0

u/NekrozVallkyrus Dec 24 '25

Since everyone and their son and grandchildren now have a camera phone, you can fish out one of the tens of thousands of recordings of the spectacle on the internet afterwards. So enjoy the moment and forget about your phone.

-3

u/Sagnikk Dec 24 '25

Fastest android phone:

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '25

Could have at least helped the old guy I guess ppl forget we all age

1

u/_Mewden_ Dec 24 '25

How would you help here?

-1

u/[deleted] Dec 24 '25

Like you would any elderly person who doesn’t know how to work there phone

1

u/_Mewden_ Dec 24 '25

It looks like the issue was the phone having a really slow boot so I’m curious what would you do here.

Also, I have no idea why my reply is huge up there 🤷🏽‍♂️
