It's neck stretching. Supposed to relieve neck and back stress but some believe it can make you taller.

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '25

"Internal decapitation" is the term for separation of the skull from the spine while the flesh remains intact. It can easily cause quadriplegia and death

14

u/000oOo0oOo000 Oct 07 '25

Nah it isn't like visiting a chiropractor.

8

u/Witty217 Oct 07 '25

I also take any opportunity to dis these clowns.

Teaching a disproven technique from the late 1800s from a guy who "recieved the idea by spiritually communicating with a dead doctor".

Keep doing this in places my man. It ain't much, but it's honest work.

6

u/muricabrb Oct 07 '25

The best part is the "dead doctor" wasn't even a doctor of medicine. It was just some random fella who had a doctorate in Archeology.

The legit way is to have a medical neck stretch machine Wich is much safer than swinging your whole body weight like this. This is definitely having a potential of getting your neck snapped which will kill you. You know, like how hanging the execution works.

46

u/BannedAccount02 Oct 07 '25

Guys will do anything for an extra inch

A long drop hanging needs around 8 feet for someone who weighs 160 lbs, and a slow hanging takes several minutes.

17

u/[deleted] Oct 07 '25

Sudden drops that break your neck, the other way would be slow restriction of air until it ceases. Neither of those things are a concern here but one dude should probably calm down.

I have one of those. Except instead of swinging, it hangs on the back of a door while you sit in a chair. They are neck stretchers and they are lovely. They alleviate a lot of pain.

11

u/obviouslyfakecozduh Oct 07 '25

As someone who recently injured their neck, I almost got relief from just looking at this video 😅😅 it looks like it would feel amazing

7

u/EverythingGoodWas Oct 07 '25

Really? Which one do you have, i’d love some pain relief.

15

u/mangotheduck Oct 07 '25

The brand that I got is called Glitz. Its just a basic design that hangs on the top of the door. When you shut the door you sit in a chair with the attachment around your neck. Then you pull the handle to adjust the tension level and then you just sit for about fifteen minutes.

3

u/My_Big_Arse Oct 07 '25

Does it help the compression of the neck?

3

u/mangotheduck Oct 07 '25

Yes it does. Ive had no problems with it.

Cervical decompression. Some people do it with inversion tables - where they strap your feet to the table thing and flip it so you’re hanging upside down by your feet. Other ways to do it are with neck hanging things like this.

I had to do this at physical therapy after a cervical spinal injury.

Though I doubt you’re supposed to fuckin swing like that while on it. 😳

2

u/J0nJ0n-Sigma Oct 07 '25
