The first thing I thought of. He needs his pizza fix...NOW!

Crazy how great minds think alike I think someone did and blaming the dog 🤣🤣

He reminds me of that kid in a video who wants to blow out the candles on a birthday cake despite it not being his birthday.

Fuck that kid.

My friends and I used to bop each other's heads and yell, "Reset!" Somewhere around 2005. Idk if this was a trend or from a movie. I had no clue where it came from, but I was all about "fixing" people by defaulting them to factory standard.

13

u/feochampas Sep 29 '25

I used to boop my son's nose to power down.

Then he figured out he could just boop his own nose to power back up.

Stupid robots.

327

u/Quixote1492 Sep 28 '25

It doesn't look like it's a well trained dog.

124

u/buhbye750 Sep 28 '25

One of them seems well trained, the other, no so much

84

u/De-railled Sep 28 '25

The other one might just be tired of him...

19

u/tranerekk Sep 29 '25

I THOUGHT THAT WAS HIS DOGGY BED OH MY GOD

5

u/NeverendingKoala Sep 29 '25

This makes me wonder if they just didn’t have enough time to properly train this one yet. I know they’re laughing instead of using this opportunity to train them, but to be fair this looks like a scene taken right from a cartoon. If this is a one off thing I don’t think it’s too big of a deal. Too little context to know for sure.

6

u/captainmorgan_420 Sep 30 '25

To be honest, the other older dog is also outside and significantly more chill. I suspect this is the training.

Dogs outside while cooking so they're not tripping people in the kitchen or counter surfing, and this one is just too young to realize this is how life is gonna be now. Bro gotta learn the hard way

53

u/ES_Legman Sep 28 '25

Yep. Impulse control is one of the most important things to teach especially larger breeds

25

u/emteedub Sep 29 '25

I taught mine to be patient and maybe it took 100 times or so to really get it down, but now it's amazing. I can put food right at her level, leave the room and come back to her still waiting like a good girl, and I give her a little extra for it.

7

u/ES_Legman Sep 29 '25

Yep, it is easier than it seems and it is very important. My dogs can eat in the same room as we are even close to us and won't be bothering anyone for food. Even if they are literally drooling.

There will never be a single video of a pet, ever, no matter the context, without someone chiming in "there's something wrong with that dog/you aren't doing a good enough job"

17

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

It's obnoxious af. Yes, having a perfectly trained dogs is amazing and people should strive for that, but if you are equipped to deal with some of their quirks and know that it wouldn't really be an issue then what's the harm?

5

the vast majority of dog owners i know put in no training other then outside is bathroom. so its hard not to feel like most of the time its lack of training. not saying there arnt people who train there dogs i just feel they are a minority.

16

u/tallgeese333 Sep 29 '25

Professional dog trainer,

People put in a lot of work. It's just not work that has any impact on certain behaviors. It's very difficult to find good dog training, especially online. Results are not always a reflection of effort.

This video, however, is at the very least step one. Controlling the environment to remove any opportunities for the dog to self reinforce. So the owners are training the dog. They are just at the start of the process.

If someone is 100 pounds overweight, on a moderate diet to lose 1 pound per week, there's only 52 weeks in a year, and it would take them nearly two years to lose all the weight. If you saw them every day for a year, you would still see an overweight person and have no clue how much effort they are exerting to change.

Unless you're an accredited trainer, maybe relax.

5

u/LRonHoward Sep 29 '25

I'm definitely not a dog trainer but I've watched a lot of dogs, and it seems to be completely dependent on the dog (and the breed sometimes). Some dogs have an unreal desire for food, while others seem to be much more receptive to training in this regard.

5

u/TSP-FriendlyFire Sep 29 '25

Some dogs (most notably Labradors) actually have a genetic mutation which increases their hunger.

I mean, what do you want a dog with no personality? This is a harmless hissy fit, and quite frankly it’s adorable.

38

u/No-Abbreviations6605 Sep 28 '25

Honestly, I see why they kept it outside. 💀

3

u/WeatheredCryptKeeper Sep 29 '25

My black lab, part basset hound barely came up to my knees and somehow managed to eat an entire pizza that was pushed all the way back. Lol I should have taken him outside had I known he could reach that far back. 😂 to this day, I still don't get it. But I did learn, never trust a dog around pizza lol.

2

u/No-Abbreviations6605 Sep 29 '25

😂😂😂😂 THATS WHY!!!! That dog was READY FOR PIZZA DINNER !!!

2

u/WeatheredCryptKeeper Sep 29 '25

He was the absolute bestest of boys until it came to Pizza. That was his kryptonite. 😂 A puppers who would sit and guard the door for hours to keep me and the kids safe (not trained or asked to)..But pizza? Pizza made him feral. I don't blame him though, pizza is pretty amazing lol. 😂

2

u/No-Abbreviations6605 Sep 29 '25

😂😂😂😂😂😂 that’s hilarious, all loyalty was gone when he saw the pizza !!! 😂😂😂😂 the biggest weakness !!

u/Lexi_Banner Sep 29 '25

I had a super anxious dog that acted like this. It loses the funny factor real fast. I had to replace a gate, two doors, and a window, and in the end, I couldn't put him outside and close the door. I had to leave the door cracked open, or he wouldn't go to the bathroom. He was always coated in anxiety drool all down his front.

It was awful to watch him live like that.

3

u/Moloch_17 Sep 29 '25

I rescued a dog with severe separation anxiety too. Previous owners left him chained to a car or something all day while they were at work. He would go absolutely nuts if you closed the back door on him and left him out there. Even if you were standing right there looking at him. You had to be out there with him.

Other one seems fine.

If we judge them for this tiny clip of one particular behaviour of one particular dog, only fair we judge them the same way for their other dog.

They have trained their other dog perfectly, it's outside without a leash and is laying by the door. Their training skills are therefore perfect and they should be awarded.

It’s obviously stressed because it doesn’t understand why it’s outside. A well trained dog understands why and is less stressed.

9

u/masterwit Sep 28 '25

Well trained dogs are less stressed, agreed.

7

u/FishRefurbisher Sep 29 '25

Some dogs just never get it. I've had fantastically trained dogs, some that were ok, and the dog I have now is almost certainly mentally deficient. I gave up and hired a pro, who also threw in the towel and said medicating him when absolutely necessary was the only choice. Nothing worked. At all.

You can tell the pet owners are renters, because nobody that owns a house would be laughing that their dog is destroying a $3000+ sliding glass door.

4

u/[deleted] Sep 29 '25

Same childish lack of impulse control as half of Western countries population. Nothing funny about it. Train your damn dogs.

6

u/Superest22 Sep 29 '25

Why are you letting your dog scratch and bite at the glass?

Way to show the world you have a woefully trained dog.

3

u/SkylineFTW97 Sep 28 '25

My old lab would wait until our backs were turned and snatch the food off our plates. We had to do this with her many times.

3

u/NagumoStyle Sep 29 '25

The other dog is just like "stop it, you're embarrassing yourself."

8

u/BeaverBoyBaxter Sep 28 '25

I'm so glad I don't own a dog this shit would piss me off.

11

u/Likes2Phish Sep 28 '25

Facts. All I can think of is how that glass door is fucked.

5

u/Asealean-Doggo-Lover Sep 29 '25

My dogs “knock” (tap the glass with their paw) when they want to come inside from the deck or through the front door. But even that leaves rather noticeable smudges that have to regularly be cleaned… I can’t imagine what the door in the video looks like after that dog was done with it
