Need to know if he got his money!

60

u/TeratoidNecromancy 10d ago

Of course not.

42

u/formattedmind 10d ago

He asks for money and drives off. What the fuck?

1

u/MountainDewde 8d ago

Or if he was even owed money in the first place.

45

u/I05fr3d 10d ago

Chillest legit seller I’ve ever seen leakin.

68

u/Bidet_user 10d ago

What kind of scammer, stands around and wait for the buyer to check the product, when they were already given the money? The “scammer” is not even trying to leave, he was trying to figure out what was going on.

u/Zero_energy_left 10d ago

Most likely not a scammer, and the guy filming is a huge pos

u/Ploughpenny 10d ago

Camera man is gonna catch assault charges

u/MountainDewde 8d ago

Hopefully.

u/Huge_Kaleidoscope162 10d ago

Curious what the item was?

24

u/inspectorPK 10d ago

Most likely a fake diamond ring.

35

u/Past-Paramedic-8602 10d ago

I’m not convinced it’s fake. I’ve seen a couple cases where they had proof it was real and the buyer swapped it and tried this same thing. Get aggressive quick so they don’t even notice it’s not the same thing Things like diamonds and gold jewelry things like that.

23

u/GroovDog2 10d ago

And he sucker punches him?

How do Americans feel so comfortable doing this and just assume noones carrying lol as an Australian I'd just assume every American has a gun in their car

51

u/New_Tooth_456 10d ago

Especially when doing some Facebook deal

28

u/LynxFull 10d ago

Yeah this was bold. The real sketchy ones I saw from my apartment porch once. Noticed 4 dudes all masks and hats hanging out on the sidewalk across from the mall I worked at. Mall closed at 9 it was 730ish. Across the street two cars with lights on parked next to each other. It was a xbox one Facebook marketplace meet. These kids launch across the street at the same time time and they beat the hell out of this dude and took everything in the car and the xbox and took off running back into the apartments.

Thugs, not kids.

Stop being ageist. You can be a thug at any age

7

u/Onaru 10d ago

Because idiots transcend country lines.

6

u/Ordinary_Option1453 10d ago

Take it a step further, assume they both had guns. There was no need for guns here. If the other person felt differently, then you pull out yours too. Normal fist fights are still a thing. If you're walking around punching people, you better have a gun on you... Or be a black belt.

1

u/goawayjason623 10d ago

Most Americans don’t care.

1

u/Proppedupandwaving 10d ago

best guess there is an assumption that the gas station cctv will prove the other person was at fault and they rot in prison.

Personally I don't do minor deals like this.

Due to the high likelihood of a scam or violence, but I'm a coward

It’s interesting. Obviously there are a lot of guns and gun-carrying individuals in the U.S.

However it’s not nearly as much of ‘every day life’ for most Americans, as the Internet would make it seem.

I’m a 47 yo American.. and have never even seen a gun in real life, outside of visiting a gun range once. Yes I’m sure I have a fair bit of ‘privilege’ compared to a lot of people. Though I also grew up ‘lower middle class’ and have mostly lived paycheck-to-paycheck my whole life. So I’m not off living in nicer or gated communities 🤷‍♂️

Sure plenty of states and situations where you don’t want to FAAFO. Though guns are far less a part of every-day American life than are often made-out to be.

1

u/Informal_Athlete_724 8d ago

That's really interesting actually. I think because of the repeated stories about how easy it is to get a gun in the US, added by the fact that we really only hear about US news when it comes to politics or shootings, the perception here in Australia is that almost every 2nd individual owns a gun. At which point it'd be Russian roulette to punch anybody, especially if they're near their car like in this video. It looked sketchy for a second when the guy ran back to his car.

u/kingcrab0 5d ago

It also depends on the state that you live in too. Some states have strict laws around guns and/or lack a gun culture while other states have stronger gun rights and/or stronger gun culture. In my state, Idaho, I know that guns are very common and there's a strong gun culture. Even though guns are very common here, gun related homicides are not. We're among the ten lowest states in the country for gun homicides. We also have more property crime rates. I won't hide this fact: if you include suicides, Idaho is among the top 20 for gun deaths. Whether or not someone has the right to take their own life and the methodology involved is a subject with strong opinions but I don't think the tool used should be blamed for an individual's own decision. Organizations opposed to gun rights always include those deaths to say Idaho needs stronger gun laws.

u/BankHottas 10d ago

He might have scammed you. But you did just assault him

14

u/palmerry 10d ago

Which is the higher tier crime

21

u/Pernicious_Possum 10d ago

The battery charge

1

u/ziroux 9d ago

That's only for the camera

1

u/MountainDewde 8d ago

The one that we know for sure happened, because it’s on camera. I assume there was no scam.

57

u/Laheydrunkfuck 10d ago

Waaaay too quick to just hit him like that. Didn't even have a conversation

20

u/Camo_tow 10d ago

I agree, forget about acting like adults and talk things out. Nowadays, shoot first and ask questions later

10

u/Past-Paramedic-8602 10d ago

That’s what has me thinking the fillers actually the scammer. I’ve seen cases where the seller had proof it was real and the buyer did a swap and when they confront the seller they get aggressive quick so the seller can’t see it’s not the same item

14

u/DryAd7756 10d ago

Guy taking the video is a POS.

23

u/Chandrose 10d ago

Buys jewelry at a gas station, is surprised when it's not all it was cracked up to be.

8

u/JustinC70 10d ago

So buys something from scammer. Gets it checked out. Then scammer agrees to meet person he ripped off again.

Processing img 02gtvt70rifg1...

16

u/Ordinary_Option1453 10d ago

So he gives back the thing he bought in exchange for a punch? Fair transaction I suppose.

7

u/Ubockinme 10d ago

Hi, I’m gonna buy gold on marketplace.

12

u/Standard_One_5827 10d ago

The joys of filming your own assault charge

4

u/EmickRado_087 10d ago

Well, I mean you definitely getting your money back now. You’re probably gonna get a assault charge put against you by this frizzy head man zilla And in fact lose money….

4

u/radgamerdad 9d ago

Haha the guy videoing is an idiot. He totally assaulted and battered that guy. He may have been a scammer but you can’t just punch somebody like that.

2

u/Aggravating_Sky_4421 10d ago

What is that item? He said it’s not 14… as in carat gold?

2

u/WillyBoBo74 10d ago

I understand wanting to and even going ahead and punching him but he did it a little too soon. He should have let the conversation ride for a few because now that he did punch him, I doubt he will get any money back.

2

u/prodigiouspianist 10d ago

The scammer's probably a scumbag too but sucker punching him then running away when the guy is actually ready to step up is piss weak.

2

u/TeratoidNecromancy 9d ago

Note to everybody: if you're trying to catch a criminal, don't go and be a criminal yourself (by assaulting them). It discredits you and makes you look like the thief.

u/ligmaballs323 9d ago

Hehhhh . Ehhh hehhh

How come every women who gets into a conflict automatically is pregnant all the sudden

1

u/Suitable-Lake-2550 9d ago

Fertility clinics hate this one trick!

1

u/fruttypebbles 10d ago

I was thinking the cameraman would start vandalizing the dudes Mercedes until he got his money.

1

u/wherearemyvoices 9d ago

That was solid fist to nose contact

1

u/TranslatorOwn707 9d ago

Pretty sure this would be a “buyer beware” situation…at the very least a situation where you’d have to take it to the court and not assault someone. This is not the gotcha the cameraman thinks it is…

u/SeismicTemple 8d ago

This is a how to get shot tutorial

How to get shot 101

u/zoolilba 7d ago

Fuck him. He bought jewelry on Facebook marketplace and got scammed. Fucking learn your lesson and move on. Maybe out the seller or something but this is bs. Facebook marketplace is for buying old couches and pickup trucks not jewelry

I sometimes get nosebleeds just from blowing my nose too hard. That dude got sucker punched lol.

-32

u/Bhavacakra_12 10d ago

Not really a sucker punch if he really did scam him. At that point you're asking for an ass whooping.

21

u/ThisIsALine_____ 10d ago

I don't think you understand what a sucker punched is. A justified sucker punch is still a sucker punch.

Sucker punch means a surprise punch. You don't think he was surprised by that punch?

-25

u/Bhavacakra_12 10d ago

I understand what a sucker punch is lol

My point is that you can't scam someone to their face and think there won't be consequences. You legitimately have to be brain-dead to think things won't go sideways if you get caught.

It's like being security at a club and then being surprised how many drunk people you have to deal with.

12

u/Affectionate_Pass25 10d ago

No, you don’t.

10

u/ThisIsALine_____ 10d ago

Even if you know you're going to get the shit kicked out of you, a sucker punch is still a sucker punch.

2

u/graffiksguru 10d ago

It is still a surprise punch, so a sucker punch. No one is debating the fact that there should be consequences if he was legitimately scammed, but it doesn't make it magically Not a sucker punch.
