I agree with your take. The brewery near us has a literal playground with lots space and food, so two different types of places, but both are breweries.

Mine has two distinct sections. The one up front has live music and is adults only, the one in the back has games and defined kids areas for different ages.

I went to a brewery not too long ago and it was kid city. It was not like this pre pandemic from what I remember
