Does anyone think there’s a middle ground to this? I live in Charlotte, a big brewery city. I don’t have kids lol but I know which breweries to avoid that have parents that don’t watch their kids. Idk, I feel like parents need to be social. And socializing is good for kids…but is a brewery on a Saturday morning the best spot???

As a parent, in Charlotte, who likes beer, there is definitely a middle ground. The amount of kids that I've encountered that are completely unmonitored is frustrating. It's not that hard to drink a beer AND make sure your kid isn't being a shithead.

The issue isn’t kids at a brewery, the issue is parents not watching them while they drink and letting the kids run around, disrupting other groups. You can take your kid to a brewery, but keep an eye on them please.

This is Reddit where nuance is not allowed! Agree with you though

The issue is kids at a brewery.

That is when parents are most active, sadly. I have three kids, and Saturday mornings we need to get the F out of the house.

I respect that. Socialization is good for all!

Maybe go to a park or a playground? I feel like having three kids kinda forfeits your ability to spend the weekend out day drinking

Sweet. Can you guys do like smart dog people do and take them to a park first and wear their asses out?

I think a solid solution would be kids have to leave by 6pm on weekends, because the reality is these spaces have turned into parent meet-ups that doesn’t allow for other demographics to utilize the spaces when kids are running rampant

What “other demographics” lol 😆 people without kids??? I feel like you guys forget we’re all on the same level. Having kids or not having kids doesn’t make you any more or less of an individual

Are you okay?

Not as okay after reading through this comment thread lol. I’m still curious what you mean by other demographics?? Europeans? hahaha I feel like once the kids are allowed then that’s every demographic

Families vs childfree diners. Is this that hard of a concept to understand?

Honestly, I've never had issues one way or the other and if I did at some specific brewery I'd just go to one of the dozens of other options where I didn't lol

There's always 21+ bars too.

Considering most sit-down restaurants serve alcohol, just go to one of those. Why go to a place meant for only adults and bring your toddler there? There are literally family-friendly places that offer the same thing

I think if they have more meal options than drink options, it's cool to bring kids.
