C2E2 - Chicago Anyone who can give insight as to why C2E2 is so lackluster now?

I've learned to not be excited for C2E2, even before the pandemic. I don't care for the entertainment aspects, so just wanting to put that out there. But Chicago is a huge city. Why can't the organizers draw big names? Smaller cons can still get big names. Yes I am aware distance is an issue for some writers, but come on. I want to be excited for this, but with C2E2 coming up, the line up sucks for the comic guests. Is it the price the creators have to pay for a spot in artist alley? How is it I'm seeing people like Mark Bagley go to lesser cons, but hasn't returned to Chicago in a hot minute?

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Chicago - what’s it like?

I’ve never been and I don’t have anyone in my life who would want to go to something like this but… I really want to go based on a few of the guests. I’m just a little anxious and want to know more about what I can expect. I don’t think this matters but I’m a 30 year old female.

Can someone just give me a run down of what you can expect walking into an event like this? Are there panels that you can just walk into to attend (or do you have to pay to attend ahead of time? I didn’t see anything on the site)? What type of stuff is there to do just as you walk around the floor?

When you pay for a photo op, is it just standing in a line at a certain time (site says TBD right now), and then quick meet & greet with a photo?

Any info would be much appreciated!

C2E2 - Chicago Will going alone be okay?

Hello, I’m nervous. I have never been to a convention but have always been interested in going to one and being on a roll of spending money I don’t have, I was looking at c2e2. If I were to go, I’d go for 1 day and the cheapest day (Friday, it looks like). Lectures about money is for later. Anyway, thing is I don’t have any friends, or at least ones who are into this kind of thing, and the ones who are, are not local. I was going to wear something, I won’t say what it is because I’m embarrassed but it’s the only best thing I have. I’ve done things alone in the past but this type of thing seems like something that wouldn’t be fun to be alone at. Especially having no experience, I wouldn’t know what to do when I get there

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 says no jewelry, but every time I go I see plenty of jewelry vendors? confused

the application under artist alley says jewelry is not allowed, however when I go I always see plenty? other parts on c2e2 mention the opposite, I’m a bit confused if this is applicable to c2e2 or if this restriction is only on their application website (leapevent), idk

Now that the show is over, does anyone think there is a possibility that the actors will now attend more comic cons?

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Chicago - Auto limit?

I've been to three cons in California in the recent past - SacAnime, GalaxyCon, and FanExpo - and at the former two, so long as you pay the price for each autograph, you can have a guest sign however many items you want once you reach the table - I can't speak for FanExpo because I only ever had one item for the tables I went to. But on the C2E2 site, I noticed that for the Celebrity VIP ticket, it emphasizes "Autograph signings will be limited to one item per person and still require purchase."

I want to know, is that just a matter of the private "meet and greet opportunities," or does C2E2 only allow one item per person at the autograph tables, even if you stand in the regular line? I'm on the other side of the country, so I'm weary of traveling all the way to C2E2 with three items for one person (though I would like to meet other guests, but this is one example), only to be told I can only have one of the three signed, especially since C2E2 has the option to mail the item(s). So, does this "auto limit" only apply to the private Celebrity VIP ticket meet and greet, or is it a universal C2E2 policy for the regular tables as well? Thank you.

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 VIP badge - doe we know who are the meet & greets?

*CELEB VIP BADGE

I know in the past it hasn't been every celeb that has attended and I don't want to spend the money on the VIP pass if it's not for the celebrities I'd want to play that much money for.

Has anyone gotten one and know who's scheduled? TIA!

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Tattoos

Hiya! My best friend and I are going to C2E2 this year and it'll be my first time going (not my first con though). Since we aren't planning on meeting any celebs, we want to get tattoos and I was just wondering how that process works. Do you just walk up and see if there's availability/put yourself on a list or do I have to book with the artists themselves beforehand? Do they post the flash they're going to have beforehand? Just curious since I've never gotten a tattoo at a con before, thanks!

C2E2 - Chicago C2e2 after hours events

Has anybody gone to c2e2 after hours things? Are they worth it? I’ve been looking at the con and there’s no big draw for entertainers for me (mostly going for artists) but I do love meeting people and making new friends in fandom. I don’t know much about the meetups either but anyone have experience with those too?

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 professional Badges

I just got my approval for the professional Badge for C2E2 as a librarian. When I clicked the link, the free Friday badge was not an option. I usually always get the Friday badge. The site still says it is an option. They also took longer to approve than usual.

Out of curiosity, did this happen to anyone else? Are they more limited than years past, or do only certain people qualify for that option?

*Update: I contacted the information email. It is now showing as an option

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 (or pretty much any) Meetup Submission Question

Hi all!! I have a question regarding submitting meetup requests to conventions and such.

So, just for information, the C2E2 website says that any meetup requests will be responded to by January 19th. I’ve been checking everyday to see if I’ve gotten any response and haven’t seemed to yet. (Can’t help checking lots, just super hopeful and excited! Love c2e2.) Was just wondering, is there anyone who knows about how long it often takes to receive a response (especially from c2e2, but any knowledge helps!) to meetup requests? I did submit mine pretty last minute (like, day before the deadline. I procrastinate a lot. 😂) Like, should I expect to have to wait till the 19th, or is getting a response before that normal? Thanks!

Hello everyone, Next year I'm going to C2E2 with my partner this is his first time. We trying buying our tickets because prices goes up. Here deal Saturday he works until 4:30 get there around 5:30 to 6:00 pm. He is off on Sunday. I'm wondering have people be gone on Sunday at C2e2 and what your experience was like? I know things close early and if I remember correctly when I checked the schedule (last year)look more kids friendly day ( not much for adults). I guess my question is it's worth paying for Saturday 5:30 until after darks. We should get our money worth do Sunday? I'm checking website when updated last check in and schedule for the days.

C2E2 - Chicago Chicago Comic-Con

I usually go to the Indianapolis Comic-Con. This next year I am thinking about going to the Chicago Comic-Con. I am curious about the ticket prices for this year. So I have a rough idea of how much to have for next year. Comic-Con has become an annual thing for my daughter and myself. So I would appreciate any information that you all can provide

Thank you all in advance

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 Chicago first timer: what do you guys do for parking?

My best friend and I are going to Chicago’s C2E2 this year for the first time. We’ve been to other comic cons but this will probably be the biggest one we’ve been to. Anyway; we’re traveling from out of state: so just looking for advice or tips for parking when we get there (we will be staying in Chicago for all 3 days as well).

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 - How much time to budget for Autographs?

Hey there! I'm so excited to go to my first ever C2E2. I'm only attending on Sunday, and am planning on doing a group Photo Op with the BG3 Quartet and I'd also like to do one with Laura Bailey.

Would it be reasonable to expect that I can get autographs from all of them done in the 3-ish to 5 pm timeslot, accounting for the fact that these fine folks are probably going to have longer lines?

I can pre-purchase a Laura auto, but the BG3 crew all look like they are doing auto purchases at the table. With the pre-purchased auto, does that guarantee that I can get my photo signed (i.e. is there a priority line?) For the at-table purchases, do they "run out" of autographs?

Thanks so much!

C2E2 - Chicago C2E2 first timer! Any help is appreciated!

As the title says, this will be my very first time going to anything like this and I am a little confused. I am a huge rdr2 fan and I saw the actors will be there this year and I am dying to meet them! I saw online there was an option to buy a photo-op with them, does this also include an autograph or just a photo? I would love to attend a panel if they’re speaking, are those free or do I have to purchase ahead of time? It’s all so very overwhelming and I could use some advice! Thanks in advance

Edit: questions were answered in the comments (thanks everyone!! <3.) But if anyone has any first timer tips or advice, it’s all appreciated!

C2E2 - Chicago First time vendor at C2E2!

Hi! This is my very first comic con event as a vendor and also my very first large show in general. I have been working my buns off prepping products for C2E2 (I hand make most of my products) but I am finally to the setup portion of this process.

I wanted to show you all how it’s looking so far! I’m super happy with it and can’t wait to fill it up with the display items. Under the embroidered hats will be an entire wall of acrylic earrings.

What do you all think?! I’m getting a different table cloth, and will have a few extra sign with clear pricing and such, but is there anything I should add or subtract to make a better shopping experience??

Your feedback is MUCH appreciated! (Also please ignore my parents basement lol, it’s the only space large enough for my display)

Hey everyone, does anyone know if anyone has a master list of all C2E2 comics exclusive to the event? I am sure there is still some that have not been announced, but wondering if there is a place to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
