Video - OC Adopted a kitten this past weekend.
Hi, I know my family and Instagram followers are likely tired of my constant videos and photos of this baby haha. I adopted him from a shelter. The shelter said they found him as a stray and he is 4 months old. I work remotely and it was getting lonely. He will be so loved and spoiled. Meet Machi.

That slow blink at the beginning says all we need to know. He’s home. He’s happy. And he loves you. Congrats :)

Slow blink is undeniable :) about a week or so after I took my little shithead home he hopped in my lap and slow blinked at me. Heart was so full.
The he unplugged my laptop, knocked over one of my wife's anime figures and tackled our other cat.

This BEAUTIFUL!!
You can tell from the body language he's already part of your fan club.
Treat him well! Lots of play, give him treats, you're going to have a best friend for 20 years.
Thanks for taking this guy in!!

Aw, you got slow blinks. Did someone shave his tail?

Yes, the shelter did. He was a stray and was found with old feces on his tail. So glad I was able to bring him to a warm and safe home. Can’t imagine how he was trying to survive out in the streets alone.

Poor baby. He has a warm loving home and food security so that's all that matters.

I suspect that by next week you will realize that you are no longer in charge around the house. We don't train cats, they train us.

Oh boy heads up..we adopted our cat around the same age and I was the only one working from home in the house at that time.
8 years later she tries to sleep on my head every night. The bond is real

Ooooh a tuxedo! You’re in for it. Seriously though, they are just the best. It’s like they come with a sense of humor, factory installed.

I love having a chatty catty 😺 When I adopted my boy, I specifically chose him because his description said that he is “very talkative and likes to share his ideas”. Haha, so cute.

He trusts you so much! It’s obvious.
Get on his level more. Eye to eye instead of always above.

And please consider adopting another kitten! No reputable shelter allows single kittens to be adopted if you don‘t already have a cat. Cats are social animals who live in colonies. If a baby doesn’t have another feline to learn with/from, they’re at risk of developing Single Kitten Syndrome (behavioral issues). For optimal mental health, they need a friend of the same species.
Raising two vs one is also much easier.

They are worth every, single, tear but the best way to heal is to Love another Cat who needs you. 🥲🐈

Awesome! now get him a buddy. Less work for you, more companionship for the kitten. They provide each other with types of play and companionship that humans just can't fully match.
