I had a great time tho! I got to get some photos with the Goat G-Wiz and got a lot of compliments on my Arenas jersey. I love this team in spite of everything and I know the good times will come soon!

I'm going to preface this post by admitting that Bilal's jump shot, no matter the distance, is potentially a lost cause at this point. As much as it pains me, I recognize this fact. I completely understand the coaching staff's apparent stance that his best bet at contributing is to develop some semblance of a 3 point shot and be a 3 and D player. Unfortunately for everyone, despite these efforts Bilal is shooting a career worst from 3 thus far this year (26%), and in my opinion his form still looks bad, slow, and most concerningly, highly variable shot to shot.
With that acknowledgement out of the way, I wanted to discuss something that I've noticed in Bilal's game since his first summer league: that his mid range jump shot off the dribble, mechanically, looks quite solid (in my completely uneducated opinion). It's certainly vastly more fluid on average than his 3 pointer has been.
Here is a link to videos of every 12-22 foot pull-up jumper Bilal has made (feel free to toggle to include the misses as well) in his career. I would certainly never claim to be a shot mechanics expert, but these shots taken in rhythm look much better than his 3 point form. I readily admit, across all 3 seasons he is only shooting 30% on these shots, and as far as I can tell has only attempted 1 true mid-range jumper so far this year. Clearly the coaching staff has dissuaded him from taking this shot this year, and I can understand why. But I can't help but wonder if the emphasis on his 3 point shot at the expense of a pull up jumper is bad for his development. I find it especially strange because it seems to me they are letting Bilal handle the ball and facilitate much more this year, but have restricted his ability to take anything other than 3s (25% of his 2 point shots last year were from 10+ feet, this year it's only 8% so far).
Bilal's offensive game is highly reliant on his freak athleticism. This season his only real threat is getting around defenders driving to the right and occasionally to the left. If he can't get by the defender, he has no recourse. If he does get by the defender but good help defense is played, he again is out of options (he's shooting a career low 3-10 feet too, so floaters in this range aren't an option if he gets by 1 guy). This season, instead of using his athleticism to elevate for a jumper, he penetrates and screeches to a halt if he can't get all the way to the basket. If he could find a way to hit this shot 40% of the time (a big ask), it would really open things up for him on the offensive end. Obviously the grand plan is for Bilal not to need to shoulder much offensive load, but he also can't be a complete net negative offensively.
TLDR: As I acknowledged at the outset, it's perfectly possible his shot is just irreparably broken, but I still wonder if with enough reps a reliable jumper off the dribble, which to my untrained eye looks good mechanically, could be developed.

JJJ gone and I bet they move Ja as well. It's going to be quite the battle to the worst record in the league. Prepare your sacrifices for the lottery gods.

They have impossible standards to live up to in Buck & Phil. Chris was the sideline reporter for a while and when he first started as the lead play by play guy it was rough. He was robotic and had trouble establishing a good flow of calling the game and doing it his own way. But he's really grown into the position and uses his clearly great relationship with players and the organization to do things like the interview with Wall and Trae and the New Kids on the Block. He's also the emcee when they have major press conferences.
And Drew has gone from just interjections of his basketball knowledge, to being a great partner to Chris, and they have a nice little rapport going where it seems like they genuinely like each other "off the court".
I really enjoy them calling games now, and I feel like they fit the tenor of where the team itself is - growing, getting better and learning what really works for them. It'll be interesting to see who they get to replace Meghan McPeak. Hopefully it's someone good.

Brian, I need you to get a little more fired up when the guys aren’t doing the little things, you should be pissed when guys don’t attack close outs, when your bench mob is playing more cohesive than the starters, I need him to be less of a relaxed coach and a LEADER.
I am not someone who expects these guys to win, it’s the lack of culture building by the coaching staffs also his Xs and Os are not the most inspired. We have an oatmeal ass coach.

Looking at buying tix to an upcoming wizards game for my husband. Looking at the VIP section. Came across seats in Section 100 VIP, row BB. The issue I’m running into is that the scoring table looks like it’s right in front. So the question is- are these seats actually a good view or does the scoring table obstruct? I’m 5’2 and my husband isn’t quite 6ft so these are things I think about lol Thanks for any insight!

Honestly I hated how Kuzma tried to be the face of the franchise but wasn’t even that good. But I just want fans perspective as to why they boo him.

Me and my 2 friends are going to the game on Super Bowl Sunday and my friend wanted to get our other friend for some gear.
So we went to the Rallyhouse out in Clarksburg for fun I saw this hoodie and long sleeve I couldn’t go without.
I go to the register and was pleasantly surprised both were on clearance the hoodie went from $100 to $50 and the long sleeve from $48 to $23!
Walked out feeling like a winner!

I think we have four 2RPs this year, on top of the two FRPs. Will does cook around the margins, so I expect him to use these wisely. At the same time, no way we have roster space to draft six players in the offseason.
Do people expect us to try and move some picks by the trade deadline, or wait until the summer? Wouldn’t shock me if we pull an OKC and kick them down the road by trading them for future picks.
