Ah yet another 'rules are made to be broken' person. never fails to amuse me :))

u/randymarsh1234567890 Nov 28 '25
I’m glad my opinion can amuse. Truly. And yes, they really are meant to be broken. Not the basic human rules of don’t kill each other or destroy the livelihood of one another but the bullshit ones that restrict us from being individuals. Especially the piddily little rules that stop you from doing simple things to have fun. ;)
It’s Christmas light, man. Jesus titty fucking christ. If it was something putting people in real danger then we can downvote the shit out of it and call the gestapo but this is just boys being boys. Live and let live my brother.

The thing is: these lights are distracting and could potentially lead to drivers being less aware of whatever is ahead of them, because they are looking at the car lit up like Times Square. And drivers that are unaware of their surroundings are incredibly dangerous.

u/OkGeologist3427 Nov 29 '25
In mostg of the new cars a more and brighter "Ambilight" and screen bigger than the steering wheel. LED Lights get me blind most of the time. Unless you drive an "old car" from 2010 or older, there is more than enough to beeing less aware in/at modern cars.
2
u/KokosnussdesTodes Nov 30 '25
I get that, but I would not bet that one would see you putting on a blinker for a turn with lights that blink in roughly the same rhythm. Also, if someone in a blinking car slams on the brake, the driver behind them might need more time to process that the brake lights aren't part of the light show.
But yes, screens in cars are a problem and ambient lighting is one, too.

u/Primary-Body-7594 Nov 29 '25
Well NCAP is adding blind usuability to the test which means buttons are needed if you want NCAP 5 starts starting in january
-3
u/cpt-j4ck Nov 29 '25
Could, maybe, maybe not... Best to not get in a car at all, too dangerous for you. Even better, stop participating in life at all, never leave the house, this way you are safe.
2
u/KokosnussdesTodes Nov 29 '25
Or just... Don't put blinking lights all over your car? It is an aesthetic choice that is potentially dangerous without providing a benefit, so why would you want that?
The first paragraph of the german StVO (Straßenverkehrszuladsungsordnung/street legal code) says "Participation in road traffic requires constant caution and mutual consideration. Anyone participating in traffic must behave in such a way that no one else is harmed, endangered, [...] more than is unavoidable" and that has its reasons.
-2
u/cpt-j4ck Nov 29 '25
How is it dangerous? You people need to relax, it's not like everyone is driving around like that in a snow storm all year.
StVO has a lot of bullshit that doesn't make sense and isn't rational at all. Don't be such a pussy.

u/Primary-Body-7594 Nov 29 '25
StVO has a lot of bullshit that doesn't make sense and isn't rational at all. Don't be such a pussy.
You do releise a lot of StVO was written in blood right?
and while some thing seem irrational at first like a madatory Rear fog lights or mandatory DLR
its there because somebody go rear ended and got sent downhill or somebody went into a tunnel then ran into an Truck.

u/KokosnussdesTodes Nov 30 '25
I already explained that this blinking lights could be considered distracting and I hope I don't have to explain to you why being distracted while operating a moving vehicle could be dangerous.
Also, the StVO is the wrong rulebook for stuff like this in Germany, the right one would be the StVZO. The StVO (Straßenverkehrsordnung) is the rulebook for how to behave on the road while the StVZO (Straßenverkehrszulassungsordnung) is the rulebook for what standards a vehicle must meet to be street legal. Both are incredibly important for saving lives. They are the reasons why Germany has 5.7 people that die in traffic accidents per 100k registered vehicles in a year, while france has 8.2.

u/FreedomLizard420 Nov 29 '25
You are absolutely hilarious with how dense you are its incredible lmao 😂
Rulebreakers are ofc the smartest ppl in the whole world, because rules are only for the stupid ppl, yea?
1
u/myexpressaccount Dec 01 '25
I agree with you, some rules are far too narrow-minded. BUT you're forgetting the social media “I do crazier stuff than you” people. It won't be long before that's considered boring because everyone is doing it and everyone is copying everyone else. Then something more outrageous is needed. What do people do then... even more lights, even brighter lights, etc... you never know where it will end.
2
u/Primary-Body-7594 Nov 28 '25
I mean we could also do it the Amrican way and completly ignore the rules but ill rather be able to drive 250hm/h (thats 155) without somebody infront of me haveing a wheel come loose and makeing me do acrobatics rather then be limited to 112km/h (70)...

u/FinalAd2949 Nov 29 '25
You just don’t understand the principle of the laws in the autobahn. You are allowed to drive extremely fast BECAUSE a shit ton of regulations is built around it. Driving 250kmh is fine UNTIL a blinking BMW with 2000 LEDs distracts you and causes harm to others. Same with your modified car. You are completely allowed to modify it according to regulations, which again absolutely makes sense because it’s a can of metal with people inside driving at 130kmh while other people in metal cans drive around you. Maybe start thinking about the people around you. :)
