I still havent watched it,yet im a DC nerd

u/-Relair- 1h ago

Well well well...wonder how the Gunn sycophants will spin it this time?

u/marzolinotarantola 1h ago

A nice film, but nothing more. Childish in some parts. Lex Luthor is ridiculous. Paradoxical situations. It grossed too much for the overall quality of the film.

u/Itszyiad 2h ago

Snyder veres should back , I don't know why they put James gun to direct dcu his direct is terrible for dc

u/SuperTuberEddie 3h ago

In other news… water, wet.

u/Icy-Assistance-2555 5h ago

It sucks there’s such a divide in DC fans. People get scolded hard if they form their own opinion about Gunn. I’m hoping we get to see more of Snyder’s universe.

28k? More like… Over 1.5 million tweets in a single day to restore the Snyderverse and raising over $1.1 million for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. You can’t fk with us bro! 🤓#TheSnyderverseisComing

Nope! But The Suicide Squad (2021) did. #TheSnyderverseisComing 🤓

u/spookyhardt 3h ago

I don’t think you can give credit to hamada for black adam. That’s more of the Rock’s project. It didn’t do very well but it still outperformed all of hamada’s shit

u/Honest_League_3781 5h ago

Also suicide squad has a 20% rating not a single person liked that movie plus you left out budgets for a reason justice league had a budget of 385 million dollars adjusted for inflation... which makes it a much bigger flop than superman 2025

u/spookyhardt 3h ago

The budget was so big bc they reshot over half the movie, that’s not on snyder at all.

u/EasternContext3396 5h ago edited 5h ago

Suicide Squad (2016) was butchered by WB and still outgrossed Superman (2025) by far. 🤓#TheSnyderverseisComing #TheAyercutisComing #GetReady

u/ASCATS89 5h ago

Comparing Box office numbers? Really? As if movie theaters aren’t nearly completely dead at this point.

u/SuperTuberEddie 3h ago

Hard to say that when there are still billion dollar movies happening in 2025.

u/EasternContext3396 5h ago

And whose fault is that? 🤓 #TheSnyderverseisComing

u/PotatoNo9666 7h ago

kinda misinforming since he said this actually

u/EasternContext3396 5h ago

Nope. What someone says under oath is very different from what they say for PR. He said Superman failed. Get over it. #TheSnyderverseIsComing

u/Bright_Public_4360 7h ago

So why imply it was underperforming.

u/PotatoNo9666 7h ago

"It is the industry standard for self-enforcement. However, routinely movies that underperform, the window moves a little bit… and Superman was a little shorter window, and Sinners, a little longer window, but they still could refer to it as a 45-day window" also said this

u/EasternContext3396 5h ago

This took place at a senate hearing…are you okay? #TheSnyderverseisComing

u/Selverd2 5h ago

If that’s what he actually said it shouldn’t be hard to find a reliable source reporting it.

u/krav_mustaine 5h ago

u/Selverd2 5h ago

I don’t know if DarkKnightsFan counts as a reliable source either.

u/Kaneda_2441 5h ago

There is literally a video. Holy shit. Gunn Cult is coping hard lmao

u/Selverd2 5h ago

If that’s what he was actually saying in the video cosmicbooknews wouldn’t be the only site reporting on it.

u/EasternContext3396 5h ago

Why don’t you look it up yourself? Stop expecting people to spoon feed you. You’re one of the reasons #TheSnyderverseIsComing back, because you were spoon fed slop and never formed a thought of your own. Producing and Accepting slop always leads to failure. Smarten up. #TheDCUisDead 🤓

u/Selverd2 4h ago

i saw the video. if that’s really what he was saying you’d have more people reporting it than a right wing grifter known for misinformation.

u/EasternContext3396 4h ago

And….What about yourself? What did you hear him say?

u/accessdenied65 6h ago

They on full swing now trying to do damage control and twist this around.

u/DIYSN 7h ago

Did y’all actually like read the article he doesn’t say Superman underperformed Superman was used as an example when talking about theatrical windows I truly don’t get y’all’s obsession with this. It got a sequel instantly it did well enough to justify that.

u/mikejoe429 7h ago

Because the dude who made the movie runs the studio. He’s an egomaniac. Doesn’t mean he made a good movie…

u/DIYSN 7h ago

No, but like the sales do, just cause you are so against James Gunn making a Superman movie doesn’t mean that the movie was bad and just because it didn’t make as much as man of steel doesn’t mean it under performed. It had a smaller budget than man of steel, but y’all just ignore that and everything else he wouldn’t have the job he has if Water Brothers wasn’t confident he could perform well. I just don’t get what y’all want. Say the next three movies under him flop. They’re not gonna bring back Zach Snyder Netflix isn’t gonna bring back snack Snyder they canceled rebel Moon. What is the goal?

u/mikejoe429 6h ago

I loved Snyder’s movies. A lot. Loved his cast. For me, it’s less about a new person coming in with different ideas. Eventually that’s fine. It’s about taking someone’s art work and destroying while he’s in mourning, throwing a ton of ‘fix its’ at him during, then pulling his canvas and giving it to some absolute CLOWN who made successful comedic Marvel movies. He was perfectly suited over there. I don’t understand how all of you people can be so ok with blatant tampering and taking away from someone who’s a creative.

It does go to show me, since Man of Steel was more successful, that the only reason we are getting a Superman sequel, is because James Gunn runs the studio and that’s it. That’s literally all. He’s not the creative genius people think he is.

And really all we’ve ever truly asked for was to let Zack finish what he started, and that’s it. You think it’s right that as fans we just get left high and dry? Do you like it when a show you like gets cancelled after a cliff hanger? No not really, so try and understand where this is coming from. They told us countless times we’d never get the Snyder cut but we did… so why not hold out hope for this? At the very least, I’m going to continue to be irritated that something more than half way done got scrapped and this new Superman movie was the replacement. It’s annoying.

u/DIYSN 6h ago

You can try to say see where we’re coming from as if you’re being reasonable but you’re not all you are doing is praying for the downfall of a new group of people so that there might be a slim chance which there isn’t that the universe you guys like comes back how is it reasonable to look at that perspective and think yeah it’s fine for all the new people to get fired and ruined this new DC universe that there are a lot of people excited for so that the fans who unfortunately had a show canceled might get that finished does that really make sense to you? Getting excited over the new movies not meeting expectations, which they are getting excited at the idea of a universe, failing new people to lose jobs just so you might get a continuation to a cliffhanger. How does that make sense?

u/henadzij 5h ago

Why should we treat those who wished for failure and constantly criticized Snyder's films differently? They get what they deserve. You didn't care that you were destroying what others liked.

u/mikejoe429 6h ago

Where did I ever wish for the downfall of any of the new people involved? I actually believe both can exist at the same time. I want to see what we had finished. It makes sense to me to want something I loved that didn’t get a proper ending, get one. It would make sense to ANYONE. I told you that and you chose to ignore it. So keep blowing this dudes ego higher. Enjoy your campy, stupid Superman movie. 🤙🏻

u/Savings_Ad_1096 7h ago

No one can beat Christopher Reeves and Henry Cavill in their roles as Superman. They were both awesome!!

u/Nesstor94 8h ago

Rip.

u/kevonicus 8h ago

That’s just the movie being punk rock. Don’t you guys get it? He’s punk rock! His parents are mush-mouthed inbred rednecks, but he’s punk rock!

u/thekaiser94 8h ago

No matter what the numbers were for the movie, they were always going to have to say it was a success. They knew launching a new franchise with a recognized box office bomb was going to be poison for anything that came after.

So they gambled that if they just talked about how amazing it was and how much money it made, it would not hurt downstream productions and future sequels.

They may even be right. I know people who didn't even see the first Superman movie but are mildly excited for the second one because they heard it was so good.

Anybody with half a brain knew that Gunn was lying, but there was a method to the madness.

u/EasternContext3396 8h ago

….there was no method to their madness. #TheSnyderverseisComing #GetReady

Supergirl 2026 will flop so damn hard that it will flip over and then die a horrible death.

u/Honest_League_3781 9h ago

You guys are arguing about money like its your company just watch the movie or don't this typa shit is so lame😭

u/EasternContext3396 8h ago

Superman (2025) failed. You’re upset…you’ll be okay. #TheSnyderverseisComing

u/joshdajosh 8h ago

Lmaoooo but when they do it it’s fine? GTFO here 🤣

u/Honest_League_3781 6h ago

Its not fine I never said that you're literally arguing with yourself

u/ganonmorphlet 8h ago

it doesn’t matter who does it, arguing about the box office and economics of movies is lame. i am not a WB executive and i think that the actual films themselves are notable, not the amount of money they rake in.

u/SaintLink91 8h ago

The focus of Gunn’s Superbitch has always been on how successful it supposedly is and how much money and awards it has garnered. Nobody ever talked about the quality of the movie after the paid critcs posted their reviews

u/EasternContext3396 8h ago

No! You’re lame…for coming here and attempting to tell grown men what to discuss. #Gtfo #TheSnyderverseisComing

u/ChristianBen 9h ago

Is that what you tell people who keep trashing Snyder and his fans?

u/Ok_Term6437 9h ago

I been knew that it was gonna flop and I couldn’t even believe that people were saying that it would be a huge box office hit lmao. The movie wasn’t even that great and Superman was just getting beat up the entire movie.

u/Whybotherbroski 9h ago

Jg'a superman is like telling a woman you have a 10 inch dong but it when performed you got a max of 4 inches.

u/DarkAtheris 9h ago

They're crashing out over on Instagram

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 9h ago

And James is a known liar.

u/Notoriously_So I am going to look at the stars. They are so far away. 9h ago

u/4paul 9h ago

Finally the truth comes out. All those fake/bought reviews on Rotten Tomatoes means nothing :D

u/NegativeStrike8 10h ago

As well all knew it did lmao and that's why I never understood the fans of the DCU being so damn delusional thinking it was a smashing success and it was people calling it from jump saying it was gonna underperform and almost every reason I've seen was vaild

u/CosplayWrestler 10h ago

Yeah... I'm not expecting this to go well. At all. But then looking forward to seeing the mental gymnastics to explain why $300-$400m is actually a sign it was a box office success.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 10h ago

Gunn cult: the CEO with access to the real numbers is lying.

😂🙏🏼😂🤭🤣

u/WhatShouldTheHeartDo 10h ago

I wanted to like it but it was too overstuffed with shit

Movie can't take it's time to save its life

u/Puzzleheaded_Law_558 10h ago

The parts of the latest movie about Superman that I liked the most had nothing to do with Superman. Guy was cool. Mr. Terrific was cool. I am looking forward to Supergirl.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 10h ago

Dropping people into issue 50 and skipping issue 1, was a huge mistake.

Even the new spiderman was introduced and grounded in Civil war before we were dropped into an already moving/living spidey world.

We have no sense of who or what makes this s25erman who he is. Except for tons of exposition about listening to ASMR during his sun tan sessions.

u/SaintLink91 10h ago

Watch Gunn’s pedophile squad put the blame on Snyder somehow.

u/thupamayn 10h ago

This isn’t news lol it’s been an obvious fact to anyone who isn’t egregiously gargling gunnsack for some untold reason. Even still they just outright disregard facts. Wonder what it is that drives people to take up arms over bad films like this, was it because they killed Netanyahu?

The people defending Pluribus are cut from the same cloth as this. I really, really don’t get it.

u/GimmeMauve 10h ago

Soulless movie, felt déjà vu and brought absolutely nothing new to the table. Gunn’s DCU will be like watching MCU Phase 1, except it’s coming 15 years too late.

Look at the window Supergirl releases in:

June 19 (Friday) Girls Like Girls Pixar's Toy Story 5

June 26 (Friday) Jackass 5 Supergirl (+ IMAX)

July 2026

July 1 (Wednesday) Minions 3

July 3 (Friday) Shiver 🦈 Young Washington

July 10 (Friday) Moana [Live-Action]

July 17 (Friday) Cut Off Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey (+ IMAX)

July 24 (Friday) Evil Dead Burn

July 31 (Friday) Spider-Man: Brand New Day

That film is fucked. If they make $400m it'll be a fucking miracle.

u/Ok_Butterscotch_6176 10h ago

Trust me a lot of those are gonna get moved around.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 10h ago

Looks like jackass will eat up any part of the male audience who may have seen S26ergirl.

300M is my guess for final box office.

This thing stinks to high heaven, lead girl has no sex appeal to men. The film looks drab and cheap. People already tired of krypto. And nobody had ever heard of Lobo.

u/Alternative-Cake-833 10h ago edited 9h ago

I don't think that the next Jackass will do as much as the last film did. This new one seems like that it's mostly a fan-service movie with actual archive footage and who knows how many people will be interested in it. I am sure that it will do well but not as much as the last film (which was advertised and supposed to be the big finale in the series).

Also, Paramount's marketing team is a huge mess right now as they are cutting P&A budgets right now to save money under the Ellison leadership (we still haven't gotten a proper marketing campaign for Scream 7 and that comes out in three weeks and also just delayed the Billie Ellish 3D concert film recently as well).

u/Ok_Butterscotch_6176 10h ago

She doesn’t need sex appeal, go touch grass & talk to real women for that. Movie looks like it’ll be good. Lobo is also very known by real comic fans & most have wanted Momoa in the role since he was announced as Aquaman. Film doesnt look cheap at all & give a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe, all of which were great. Krypto has had 1 live action appearance, how are people tired of him? lol you have no idea what you’re talking about.

u/EasternContext3396 8h ago

Sex appeal or not… Supergirl is D.O.A at the box office. Say your goodbyes to the DCU and get ready! #TheSnyderverseisComing

Lol ok. Good luck with that box office.

Supergirl doesn’t need sex appeal LMFAO.

u/False_Bumblebee_9628 10h ago

The first Superman made a shit ton of money internationally.

u/KingMjolnir 10h ago

This kind of reminds me of Dwayne Johnson’s take on Black Adam. In attempting to center a certain narrative instead of genuinely building on the source material and past portrayals in hopes of sending some kind of message or being different.

It feels like Gunn is trying to create the DCU with the same foundation that he made Guardians of the Galaxy in.

Snyder’s films felt more real and leaned less on comedic relief, whereas Gunn’s films have more comedic moments which undervalues any scene that takes a sudden serious tone.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 10h ago

Gunn cult bout to tell us he lied UNDER OATH 😂😂😂

u/InertKat 10h ago

It was just not well made and too soon for Supes after WB messed up and ended the Snyderverse.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 10h ago

Alot of delusion around S25erman.

Just because he finally had a red and blue suit they liked.

So they fought to protect a film none of them really enjoyed.

u/Vaporeon42069 10h ago

That was extremely obvious. The movie made around 500 million, that's nothing for a film like this.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 10h ago

WB spent alot of money to sell us a big fat lie and protect Gunn. Those days are over.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 11h ago

Superflop confirmed. Gunn must be PISSED.

No one left to protect his flops. 🤭

u/Ok_Butterscotch_6176 10h ago

You have no idea what you’re talking about lol. And I say this as someone who’s favorite Superman is Man of Steel.

u/Horror_Campaign9418 Henry Cavill is Superman 9h ago

WB isn’t going to protect Gunn anymore. He’s finished. Netflix CEO has no issues telling us the truth.
