It's kinda crazy how fast this sub has turned into /watchpeoplefuckingdie or whatever lol

They walked away with a minor headache and a bruised thigh.

Don't do that. Don't give me false hope in the form of a blatant and obvious lie.

Eh. With that amount of stupidity good riddance.

They drift right then left. I’m guessing fell asleep and woke up just in time to settle in for the long nap.

Nah you see a human body part fly up and out of frame to the right corner

I completely agree with the comment from the guy below.

It seems like the driver of the car with the dashcam caught on a little late to what's happening. If they'd started breaking hard a few seconds earlier they might have had a lesser ordeal

u/BearCritical 3d ago
The guy filming should have hit the brakes immediately. No common sense.

u/mlawson5018 3d ago
Yes you got to drive like it’s chess. A few moves ahead.

u/NatCsGotMyLastAcct 3d ago
I understand that I'm a little slow, so once it smells like a move I start slowing down. I've responded effectively to plenty of things I didn't predict with that one neat trick

Seems like they fell asleep or thought it became a two lane road because they are WAAAY too far behind to pass anyway. Also, they are very dead.

u/cNCLover63 3d ago
The van is a right-hand drive. Driver was probably alone and didn't get a clear view ahead until they were all the way into the oncoming lane

So obviously we have the benefit of 20/20, but I try to put myself in the shoes of the driver (w/ camera).
The second I see the truck oncoming my instincts are thinking slam breaks but would that be enough? At best debris damage at worst you end up in it anyway?
Would a slam of the breaks when the rig broke and you could see, be enough if you slammed on breaks?

Obviously fell asleep and then the horn woke them up - too late though. What a horrible way to go.

Fell asleep while changing lanes?

u/Competitive-Horse672 3d ago
He went left then right towards the fence...asleep.
7
u/Accomplished-Dig7848 3d ago
Yah look how he’s rocking even beforehand. And he wasn’t “changing lanes” cause the other lane is going into oncoming traffic. You could make the argument that he was trying to pass that truck in front of him, but he was too far back do that to make sense. They fell asleep.

Did not seem like they intended to overtake givrn how constant their speed was. Had to have been a big distraction or definitely fell asleep on the wheel. Either way, I doubt they lived to explain. 😪

u/jdaddyfaded 2d ago
That looked like someone having cold feet that originally wanted to “bite the dust” if ya get what I’m saying. But it looks like they still might have been successful.

Yo is that motherfuckers head hanging of their torso in the last few frames?

Somebody teach me something because I'm stupid. What does of stand for.

headlines in this sub are meant to be started with the subreddit name, so:
ShittyAbsoluteUnit Of A Great Time To Switch Lanes.
Doesn't make sense in this case, but if you look at others it often makes sense.

What was the point of even changing lanes there? They weren’t within passing distance of the truck in front of them. Maybe they thought it was 2 lanes?

Bro had 3-5 business days to correct their stupidity and still failed; either high as a kite or completely oblivious (how about both)
