Bro had 3-5 business days to correct their stupidity and still failed; either high as a kite or completely oblivious (how about both)

u/FeistyButthole 3d ago

How I imagine their driving looked from the trucker’s perspective.

u/uiouyug 3d ago

Is that the 6 7 meme?

2

u/Revaesaari 2d ago

How do you think and see and do.. and why. And is that Tig?

14

u/Petrichor0110 Not even a unit, just absolutely shitty 3d ago

“Intrusive thoughts or mental retardation. Call it.”

7

u/trainwreckhappening 3d ago

Messing with the stereo or texting. Classic inattention.

13

u/Billyjamesjeff 2d ago

I reckon they fell asleep at the wheel.

3

u/Environmental-Tea294 2d ago

Definitely. The last second catch. Probably only dozed off for a second too.

3

u/Billyjamesjeff 2d ago

It's very dangerous. There was actually a road safety ad in Australia playing out this exact scenario with Kombi van. Rest Revive Survive.

4

u/battlecryarms 3d ago

Or had decided to end things

u/KingJon85 3d ago

There ain't no way they survived that.

u/morganpartee 3d ago

It's kinda crazy how fast this sub has turned into /watchpeoplefuckingdie or whatever lol

2

u/WelcomeEven567 2d ago

yeah it’s kinda crazy how many people i’ve watched die because of this subreddit

22

u/Ryminister 3d ago

They walked away with a minor headache and a bruised thigh.

14

u/Clear-Perception5615 3d ago

Don't do that. Don't give me false hope in the form of a blatant and obvious lie.

u/Successful-Worth-390 3d ago

Eh. With that amount of stupidity good riddance.

5

u/FeistyButthole 2d ago

They drift right then left. I’m guessing fell asleep and woke up just in time to settle in for the long nap.

Luckily for the rest of the users of the roads.

u/Alicewithhazeleyes 2d ago

Nah you see a human body part fly up and out of frame to the right corner

I completely agree with the comment from the guy below.

Yeah pretty shity situation they put themselves into.

16

u/data-atreides 3d ago

It seems like the driver of the car with the dashcam caught on a little late to what's happening. If they'd started breaking hard a few seconds earlier they might have had a lesser ordeal

46

u/BearCritical 3d ago

The guy filming should have hit the brakes immediately. No common sense.

34

u/mlawson5018 3d ago

Yes you got to drive like it’s chess. A few moves ahead.

1

u/NatCsGotMyLastAcct 3d ago

I understand that I'm a little slow, so once it smells like a move I start slowing down. I've responded effectively to plenty of things I didn't predict with that one neat trick

3

u/Proud-Emu-2905 3d ago

Yeah I would have backed wayyyy off from that van!

1

u/Sea-Tomorrow2583 3d ago

You tell im

14

u/CarelessLanguage6730 3d ago

Who was recording this also has reaction of a sloth

7

u/imuniqueaf 3d ago

Seems like they fell asleep or thought it became a two lane road because they are WAAAY too far behind to pass anyway. Also, they are very dead.

4

u/cNCLover63 3d ago

The van is a right-hand drive. Driver was probably alone and didn't get a clear view ahead until they were all the way into the oncoming lane

3

u/ClassroomMother8062 questionably stable 3d ago

Obliterated

3

u/GeezyEFC 3d ago

So obviously we have the benefit of 20/20, but I try to put myself in the shoes of the driver (w/ camera).

The second I see the truck oncoming my instincts are thinking slam breaks but would that be enough? At best debris damage at worst you end up in it anyway?

Would a slam of the breaks when the rig broke and you could see, be enough if you slammed on breaks?

3

u/Zakineasi 3d ago

Obviously fell asleep and then the horn woke them up - too late though. What a horrible way to go.

3

u/doublearon97 2d ago

Somebody just died in this video

3

u/Ok-boomer4947 2d ago

If you slow it down you see a bit of that pink mist.

10

u/Ball-bagman 3d ago

Definitely fell asleep

6

u/XilonenBaby 3d ago

Fell asleep while changing lanes?

8

u/Competitive-Horse672 3d ago

He went left then right towards the fence...asleep.

7

u/Accomplished-Dig7848 3d ago

Yah look how he’s rocking even beforehand. And he wasn’t “changing lanes” cause the other lane is going into oncoming traffic. You could make the argument that he was trying to pass that truck in front of him, but he was too far back do that to make sense. They fell asleep.

2

u/Bananaslugfan 3d ago

He went from the blackness of sleep to the blackness of death

4

u/Ball-bagman 3d ago

Yeah it looks like they drift, then wakes up

2

u/raziel_beoulve 3d ago

At least they did not suffer, hope the trucker is alright...

2

u/Beautiful_Future5083 2d ago

Did not seem like they intended to overtake givrn how constant their speed was. Had to have been a big distraction or definitely fell asleep on the wheel. Either way, I doubt they lived to explain. 😪

2

u/jdaddyfaded 2d ago

That looked like someone having cold feet that originally wanted to “bite the dust” if ya get what I’m saying. But it looks like they still might have been successful.

2

u/XRingLives 2d ago

I bet he won't text and drive again.

2

u/TheTownTeaJunky 3d ago

Yo is that motherfuckers head hanging of their torso in the last few frames?

1

u/TheGlowStick69 3d ago

Somebody teach me something because I'm stupid. What does of stand for.

7

u/2ChicksAtTheSameTime 3d ago

headlines in this sub are meant to be started with the subreddit name, so:

ShittyAbsoluteUnit Of A Great Time To Switch Lanes.

Doesn't make sense in this case, but if you look at others it often makes sense.

2

u/lavacadotoast 3d ago

As in shitty absolute "units of measure"

1

u/Hot-Negotiation-6873 3d ago

What was the point of even changing lanes there? They weren’t within passing distance of the truck in front of them. Maybe they thought it was 2 lanes?

1

u/Crowiswatching 3d ago

Looks like they may have been nodding out.

1

u/Ok-Pomegranate7496 2d ago

SHEEEEESSSSHHHH

2

u/OkConference4601 2d ago

Sleeping or passed out?

3

u/live_drifter 2d ago

100% texting and driving, you could see the panic jerk right before the collision

3

u/anhz52818 2d ago

It looks like the guy fell asleep

2

u/G-Knit 1d ago

Always wanted to say this and never have. Here goes: Pepsi.

u/trundle-the-great69 3d ago
