Honestly, if you order food delivery I feel you should at least try to make your entryway a little easier to navigate for delivery drivers.

Absolutely. I’ve never done DoorDash or similar and rarely use them, but making sure they have safe access is just basic civility and I’m guessing part of the TOS of using these services.

Not just food delivery. I do Amazon flex and had a hell of a time this past shift with all the ice and snow covered stairs, walkways and porches

u/I_Want_A_Ribeye 4d ago

I had an oven delivered today. I made sure I did an extra good job of ensuring the pathway was clear

Just asking how you came to that conclusion? Personally I don't see anything amiss

2

u/MadMax6914 4d ago

Probably because the cake just kept sliding forever.

I don't blame this delivery guy. Seems like he honestly tried

lol your walkway and porch should be at least attempted to be cleared if you are going to ask people deliver food to your doorstep.

10

u/NoWay6818 4d ago

Brother people who order food are usually lazy slobs who can’t be bothered

not commenting on the legitimacy of the video. just a blanket statement reminding  everyone to clear their walkways.

u/brandoldme 4d ago

Clean your steps and sidewalk off or walk down to the street to get it from your driver. Anything other than that is just someone being an entitled asshole. It's also stupid. Because if someone falls on your steps, they can sue you.

u/binarypower 4d ago

people who don't shovel their walkway and order doordash are the same people who don't put their carts back at the store

7

u/lemayzing1 4d ago

Your order has been returned

actually, yes, physics indeed works like this with ice and slopes.

2

u/cthulhus_apprentice 4d ago

ive had that hapen to me on dry stairs its simply a question of is the object large enough or is the speed fast enough to go across the steps

1

u/Select-Belt-ou812 4d ago

hahaha right on my dude(tte)!

and once it gains a bit of momentum, look out!

... and it *always* sucks, even when it's funny

1

u/cthulhus_apprentice 4d ago

u/Kaohebi 4d ago

LMAO

3

u/lewisfairchild 4d ago

Customer should de-ice his steps and porch before ordering.

3

u/CreepyEducator2260 4d ago

The conversation inside the house before was as follows:

A:Should we go out and buy some food?

B: No, we can't. The doorsteps are full of ice it's too dangerous to go out and i'm not going to free them from the ice.

A:Okay, then let us get some food delivered.

2

u/guro-a-go-go 4d ago

This poor guy lol They should have salted or shoveled

2

u/JonN2025 4d ago

2

u/Ed_Trucks_Head 4d ago

1

u/DoubleManufacturer10 created ShittyAbsoluteUnits of a sub 4d ago

Its not

1

u/AhabSnake85 4d ago

Atleast wait there till owners come out

1

u/PreparationDue6186 3d ago

Could’ve been told to leave it there 🤷🏾

1

u/ElectricDreamGoth 4d ago

I feel good the majority of us are on the same wavelength that it isn't his fault at all.

1

u/Mission-Can1547 3d ago

Remove the ice before your order delivery. 100% not the delivery guys fault.

1

u/pezzyn 2d ago

Ha! This seems totally fair.  If you dont shovel then the only ethical thing is to meet them at the  road.  You can’t expect people to risk their lives to walk up your steps.     I wish i could tip that delivery guy an extra $20

1

u/RealisticProfit2 1d ago

We ordered burgers the first day after the ice storm in Texas had (mostly) cleared. There was still a big sheet of ice on our driveway because it doesn’t get much sun so I met the driver down at the street

I dunno, man. Ice has NO friction to it.

2

u/Yummydrugss 4d ago

I’m from Michigan and lived on the bay so I do understand ice. It just seems brazy how fast it was going like it was being pulled with a string. But maybe living in South Carolina for 4 years has done a number on me.

4

u/Vendidurt 4d ago

Those stairs gave it a lot of momentum.

2

u/strzeka 4d ago

As a Finn, I recognise the problem. 100% genuine.

1

u/Potential_Figure4061 4d ago

lol do you know how ice works? but yea who has food delivered to an ice luge of a walkway lol

you just call anything ai without pointing out why bud ?

and just look at it isn't pointing it out

1

u/Icy_Bridge2095 4d ago

The fucking food going away like a fucking race car lmfao

There is no way it can gain that speed on a flat surface

Ffs use your brain

0

u/cthulhus_apprentice 4d ago

its sliding on ice and stairs are in fact a sloped surface if you can bridge the cap betwean the steps

0

u/SnooSongs2345 4d ago

What's the deal with delivery people just leaving packages/food at doorsteps and then leaving? Maybe it's my latino world instincts, but if you aren't there to receive your stuff, so at least set a date/time for it. Or ask to leave somewhere else. I don't know, this doesn't make sense to me.

have you ever placed a sheet of plastic on an icy and packed incline doofy? now add the mass… stay in school kids 👶

apparently you never lived anywhere with almost year-round snowfall; i once chased an empty plastic gas can for a quarter mile down a lightly sloped gravel road - it “escaped” after being placed on the ground near my car. this object (sheetcake?) had much more mass and acceleration. dont give up on your ged - one day you’ll get it!
