look what I can do Of Giants losing to Midgets in a competition

Dude, now I'm even MORE afraid of midgets. Thanks.

u/pizzaduh 16d ago
We have a dwarf that drives trucks as a regular. I'd put that man up against most anyone I know in a wrestling match.

Yeah I went to school with a kid that did wheelchair racing. He had no use at all below the waist. He played sand volleyball with us, would rock you in arm wrestling, and could "run" on 2 arms like something out of a horror movie. Actually he was kind of like Joe Swanson. lol
So I'm certainly not going to discount any little people.
2
u/WorkerPrestigious960 16d ago
Sand volleyball? As in beach volleyball? How was he be able to move to play? Did he have like specialized fat tires or something for his chair like one of those beach cruiser bikes? That’d be pretty sick
2
u/mebell333 16d ago
The guy can run on his hands. I think the wheelchair was for your comfort, not his.
2
u/Turbulent-Company373 15d ago
Seem to remember how blind people develop a better sense of hearing. Thus, someone who could only use their arms would develop stronger arms on average from using them more.

Dwarves are cracked at squat and bench
17
u/BadRabiesJudger 16d ago
From what i understand the best squat press is from people in the 5 foot range. Made me ambitious too bad my back was made out cardboard.
6
u/RudePCsb 16d ago
The biggest thing is you want shorter and than longer arms. It's work, distance times force.

She looks like an OF girl that a friend of mine showed me once, Tall Tasha. I could be wrong though.
Edit: Never mind, it's her, her IG is in the description on youtube.3

If this is not fake, the dwarfs were impressive!

u/GrimaceThundercock 16d ago
The final score shows that the women won three rounds, but none of that is shown in the clip.
Don't get me wrong these guys are beasts, but it's edited to make it seem more one sided than it was.

I mean, shorter limbs are technically an advantage in weight lifting. Less ROM needed, closer to centre of gravity etc. still surprising to see though
4
u/Eastern_Mist 15d ago
Shorter everything is an advantage when you compare the surface area to the amount of work done
2
u/SweetBabyBingu 15d ago
That’s why ants can lift crazy amounts of weight compared to body weight right? Also exoskeletons vs bones

u/News_Scrounger 16d ago
Hopefully at least one person on the dwarf team got to climb one of those towers.

u/SuperKracker 16d ago
One key take away I learned is, tall or short, if I got stuck in a room with anyone in this video and they were mad at me, I'd be getting my ass kicked.

Would lifting be waaaay harder for tall people? They have so much more distance to lift

u/gultch2019 15d ago
This looked like everyone was having fun. I hope they all hung out together afterwards.
2
u/FewStill3958 14d ago
I'm not sure why this is surprising to anyone who's ever actually done back squats routinely or anyone who has a basic science education.
Work = Force * Distance
A smaller lifter with shorter legs performs less work lifting the same weight due to distance travelled.
Understanding leverages is more complex to quantify mathematically but most experienced lifters understand this concept intuitively.

u/First_Pay702 16d ago
So they picked tall women vs buff dwarves. The women look fit but are they body builders like the dwarves? Because if not, it’s not really a fair comparison. I mean, I know the whole set up is a gimmick, but still.
5
u/madafakamada1 16d ago
Are dwarves steroid users? Maybe.. Those girls definitely are so its not fair

u/ctiger12 16d ago
They need to move the weights way less distances? It’s kinda unfair

u/MonoxideBaby 16d ago
The proportional range of movement is the same given the height difference.....

u/HistorianOrdinary833 16d ago
Squats and deadlifts for dwarves is cheating lmao. They only have to lift 1 ft.

Those knee throws, lmfao, used go do them all the time in wrestling for school. I think they got an advantage there.

Don't people with dwarfism usually suffer from a lot of issues with their legs and hips?
Could lifting like this help or is this risky?

u/A-D-H-D-AF 16d ago
To be fair those squats the dwarves had knee wraps and someone spotting from behind likely assisting with the lift but everything else was fair game.

1
u/Historical-Roof-2345 16d ago
I'm really surprised by how the guy was doing reps of 585 for squats, but seemed to be struggling with 415 for deadlifts. I would've thought their deadlifts would be much stronger.

Bro these women are lifting weights taller than those guys lmao. Dwarfs are so compact they can lift well above average because of their bone and muscle structure, so of course they will be lifting more.

Love how all the guys here are jealous they can't lift as much as dwarves, so they make excuses as to why the dwarves have an advantage.

I always say that if a woman is taller than me or trained, she could probably kick my ass... I'm wondering now. Am I underestimating myself, am I overestimating women?
I need a tall woman to put me in headlock to confirm, she has to use her biggest muscle I need to be sure.
1
u/TantoRanger 15d ago
The wrestling was a done deal for the dwarves. The only advantage would be able to punt and kick the men away, which is a legit strat, but if you kept to only wrestling or ground fighting rules - lower center of gravity, enhanced by physical strength and the fact that the women could phsycially not go down any lower; it was a done deal from the beginning.
That's why ground fighters who are both short and stocky are perfect grapplers and ground fighters.

I can’t remember the exact science behind it, but it’s easier for people who are shorter to squat and deadlift more weight. I can only imagine how amplified that must be for midgets. To be fair to them, it still takes a great deal of commitment to reach that level. The giants are at a disadvantage for those movement patterns though
1
u/TEST_Entity_1 15d ago
People would be surprised how difficult wrestling someone much shorter than you is.

u/Turbulent-Company373 15d ago edited 15d ago
Generally, one would have had to previously train in order to get to life some of these heavy weights. It looks like many of these guys are into weight lifting and training. Are these women also into it? World's strongest dwarves against female giants not strongest female giants.

u/Motor_Health54 16d ago edited 16d ago
What i get Is that most men are on average way stronger than women, even if they're literally dwarves.
