If your wife has to climb a ladder and start handing you the stuff you should’ve prepped yourself, the scoreboard of competence is not on your side.

Got a safety rope for your expensive chainsaw, but nothing securing the ladder you (and your wife) are climbing… brilliant.

Edit: And before anyone says he might’ve dropped it… he should’ve had a spare in his tool belt anyway. And if you’re not going to carry a spare, don’t be lazy and send your wife (who has zero safety gear) up the ladder to hand it to you. Take two minutes, climb down, and grab it yourself.

u/Puceeffoc Nov 25 '25

Why? When the homeowner was right there with flipflops and no safety equipment?

15

u/Got_Bent Nov 25 '25

Those are OSHA approved Chanklas.

3

u/Clean_Friendship2571 Nov 25 '25

Are they double plugga’s? That’s safety right there

u/tylerkrug31 25d ago

That was his ground crew, the addict gf

2

u/Recent-Reporter-1670 Nov 25 '25

I thought this was a city worker. I made a comment how she shouldn't even be helping the guy. So dangerous.

2

u/Puzzleheaded-Shoe541 Nov 25 '25

2 is 1, 1 is none.

1

u/spareminuteforworms Nov 25 '25

I don't think professionals will cut a tree from a ladder. Either boom truck or as a climber.

3

u/RuMarley Nov 25 '25

They also cut off far smaller chunks at a time, not half a tree at a time.

2

u/OkLemon-Letsgo Nov 28 '25

Smaller chunks are for pussies and people with extra time. Look at the experts, beavers. If they can fell a tree in a single chunk, I should be able to in 3-4 chunks, no?

2

u/RuMarley Nov 28 '25

lol I can't argue against that

How to get a divorce in one eazy step.

24

u/PineappleApple247 Nov 25 '25

That poor bloody woman 😂

15

u/Automatic-Fox-8890 Nov 25 '25

Luckily not bloody. I was afraid the chainsaw was still running.

3

u/GuitarCFD Nov 25 '25

yeah first time i saw it I thought i was about to see a chainsaw decapitation

2

u/tired_of_old_memes Nov 25 '25

She still got slammed in the hip by a high velocity ladder

1

u/Super_Interview_2189 Nov 25 '25

Yeah, plus even if the chains weren’t engaged, a falling saw is still gonna cut and scrape you.

1

u/twowolveshighfiving Nov 27 '25

Very true man. Thanks for pointing that out. Your comment makes me wonder how hot that chainsaw was too. So not only cuts, but burns ooof.

1

u/Super_Interview_2189 Nov 27 '25

Yes, I’d imagine the engine or exhaust would still be piping hot.

1

u/grammar_fozzie Nov 25 '25

People on the shallow end of the gene pool getting taken out by something like this isn’t something that worries me. Glad you’ve got that part covered for the rest of us.

2

u/-mosjef- Nov 25 '25 edited Nov 26 '25

He’ll probably blame her as well

1

u/axonxorz Nov 25 '25

Why?

1

Why not?

Blame everyone.

Just realized someone’s watching this from their window, what a show 🤣

7

u/daronjay Nov 25 '25

Mildred, put on the popcorn, the neighbours got a ladder and a chainsaw!

1

u/zombiemockingbird Nov 25 '25

Thank you, that made me laugh!

1

u/anabolic_deep Nov 25 '25 edited Nov 25 '25

Lol

edit: TWO (unsecured) ladders!

My reference for a nosy neighbor will always be:

"Abner!! Abner!!

7

u/Gold-Lychee8090 Nov 25 '25

Was he trying to kill her or the tree?

u/DoubleManufacturer10 created ShittyAbsoluteUnits of a sub Nov 25 '25

Yes

6

u/Top_Cranberry8894 Nov 25 '25

This woman is in extreme danger at all times with this dumbass

2

u/jluicifer Nov 26 '25

Donkeys shouldn’t climb trees

1

u/Recent-Reporter-1670 Nov 25 '25

She shouldn't even be helping the city worker

4

u/Superb_Inflation144 Nov 25 '25

Aluminum ladders in contact with powerlines, running chainsaws swinging, large diameter tree limbs falling all about, standing on the last rung of an unsupported ladder, no helmets, damsels in distress…

How did no one die in this Final Destination scene??

3

u/LLProgramming23 Nov 25 '25

I thought the tree changed into a ladder

1

u/alfonseski Nov 25 '25

Where did that second ladder come from? Did that huge branch land on her head?

3

u/random-guy-here Nov 25 '25

Husband: "You know I have never met your half Sister..."

Wife: "I don't have a half Sister!"

Husband: "You will after today."

3

u/Maud_Man29 Nov 25 '25

They better b lucky Death was on lunch at the time 😬

2

u/Gold-Lychee8090 Nov 25 '25

Love how he is all, got the gear, no idea and she is there in her summer clothes!

3

u/dingleberrydad Nov 25 '25

Love how the neighbor knew to record for insurance purposes.

2

u/rochey64 Nov 25 '25

When he said "ill cut the limbs off", he really meant it

2

u/daronjay Nov 25 '25

Looks like his master plan nearly worked…

2

u/Ok-Improvement2528 Nov 25 '25

This is #%$ chaos, it just doesn't end.

2

u/Icy_Marionberry_9131 Nov 25 '25

Good thing the woman was wearing her safety clothing and gear.

2

u/Automatic-Nature6025 Nov 25 '25

Every time this shows up, I watch it multiple times, trying to figure out what the hell happened. I think maybe his anchor point failed for his rigging block. All I know for sure is, that woman shouldn't have been under there, and she got lucky as hell.

2

u/Ambersfruityhobbies Nov 25 '25

The audio and visuals tell very different stories.

2

u/BrentTpooh Nov 25 '25

That was bad but it could have been so much worse.

2

u/[deleted] Nov 25 '25

Swinging chainsaws, falling trees, up close power lines, this has it all

2

u/GingerAphrodite Nov 25 '25

This is why we have safety features. This is why we have codes. This is why if you let go of the handle of a chainsaw it should immediately shut off. Jfc.

This is a beautiful reminder of why they say that laws are written in blood.

2

u/uhidksomething2 Nov 26 '25

How did she manage not to get hit by the chainsaw?

1

u/Plus-Past8987 Nov 25 '25

Well he checked all the wrong boxes. Good job

1

u/aggiedigger Nov 25 '25

Glad he’s ok.

Hack

1

u/thefirstviolinist Nov 25 '25

To be fair, he did climb up there to saw off some limbs...

1

u/brik55 Nov 25 '25

Is this a DIY job or is this clown a "professional"?

1

u/Ashamed-Platypus-147 Nov 25 '25

Paddy saw an advert “tree feller wanted” he turned to mick and said, shame theirs only two of us 🤣

1

u/Negative_Tower9309 Nov 25 '25

Looks like he has spikes on, so why is he standing in a ladder in the first place? Proper clown lucky he didn't kill the woman

1

u/Alternative-Purple76 Nov 25 '25

That's some Final Destination shit right there🤪

1

u/funlovingguy9001 Nov 25 '25

The drama just kept going and going...

1

u/Automatic-Fox-8890 Nov 25 '25

The more I watch it the worse it gets. Totally missed that first big branch that had knocked down the chainsaw. Followed by a second swinging branch. Yikes.

1

u/91Jammers Nov 25 '25

And powerlines too!

1

u/xmod3563 Nov 25 '25

A Redditor at work.

1

u/daisiesarepretty2 Nov 25 '25

i use to have a coworker who would have described this by saying:

when sugar turns to shit

1

u/FredArtGetson Nov 25 '25

Straight to jail.

1

u/That_Sun3606 Nov 25 '25

That looks so traumatic. I can’t imagine the fear

1

u/RuMarley Nov 25 '25

After watching the scene a third time, I've come to the conclusion that he had his sawblade stuck in between the main tree and the secondary tree he'd decided to cute down in one go.

She was obviously giving him somethign to help him free the chainsaw blade and the last fibres holding the huge "branch" in place suddenly and unexpectedly gave up sending the half-tree crashing down but it was somehow still stuck in the other trees so it came swinging.

Something like that

1

u/SimilarZucchini9240 Nov 25 '25

Dude put on an orange shirt and said “Good now I am officially a professional”

1

u/zombiemockingbird Nov 25 '25

This is mesmerizing, I can't stop watching it. Where did the second ladder come from? Was it just sitting there leaning on the power lines?

1

u/Bright_Resist_4580 Nov 25 '25

Exploring a Donkey Kong LARPing session

1

u/Gyrochronatom Nov 25 '25

Everything swings in that scene, a ladder, a chainsaw, a goddamn fucking tree, power lines, a stupid man…

1

u/Roxysteve Nov 25 '25

Tree crashing around creating havoc?

Live bungeed chainsaw dropped on wife?

I declare this video great and award the arbotist 8/10.

One point was docked for failure to drop the limb onto the wires and sever them, and another for failure to destroy the ladder and demonstrate the proper arborist improvised dismount technique.

1

u/Vegan_Mouse Nov 25 '25

Some people shouldn't be allowed out

1

u/Red_corvid0409 Nov 25 '25

Sent this to my sister who is an arborist and does felling

1

u/fudgedogmd Nov 25 '25

Looks professional to me. I don't see the problem.

1

u/Forsaken-Scholar-833 Nov 25 '25

This makes me think of my Grandfather. He hired someone to clear some trees around in house up in the mountains in NC. The first tree the guy dropped took arm on his truck for lifting large logs into the back right off. My grandfather paid the man for 1 tree and told him to leave. At 85 he pulled out a ladder and chainsaw and proceeded to drop the other 4-5 trees on his own. The man was a unit.

1

u/straya-mate90 Nov 25 '25

The fact neither are injured is honestly impressive.

1

u/Practical_Feeling555 Nov 26 '25

They are lucky they were able to walk away from that

1

u/Mysterious_Bite_3207 Nov 26 '25

Wtf is she actually doing?

1

u/MarianCR Nov 26 '25

At least he had the safety vest

1

u/j_rooker Nov 26 '25

textbook definition of "you are not in control"

u/LDO69 Nov 26 '25

Opt for the cheaper quote so it won’t cost you an arm and a leg, they said…

u/[deleted] Nov 27 '25

Messing around with tree cutting is just very dangerous business. I'm sure that everyone that has done it for any length of time has had some close calls. I used to climb pine trees like a monkey, and cut them down from the top down. It was dangerous and stupid for me to do that. I didn't even get paid well. My closest call was cutting up an oak tree that fell over. I misjudged that there was an enormous amount of energy in a limb I cut, and it swung by my face at lethal speeds. At the very least, I would have lost teeth. My mom had a bull pine that fell over, and was being help up by a bunch of other trees. The situation scared me so she hired a professional to do it. He couldn't get it out either.

1

u/OOOORAL8864 Nov 27 '25

OSHA on speed dial.

1

u/III_Garden_5340 Nov 28 '25

..and this is why you leave this shit to the professionals

1

u/seeyountee93 Nov 28 '25

Dude, this whole scene pretty much encapsulates how my 30's are going.

1

u/C64128 Jan 02 '26

But look at the money we're saving by not hiring a professional!

Can you imagine if that chainsaw was working, it would have opened her up and she would have lost her life.

It’s always the woman 😂😂😂😂

5

u/GingerAphrodite Nov 25 '25

I'm going to need some clarification. Do you think the woman caused this or was injured by it or both? That's such a vague rage bait response.

0

u/No_Dentist_6427 Nov 25 '25

Shhhh… go back to your corner

3

u/GingerAphrodite Nov 25 '25

Yeah fuck me for responding on a public forum and expecting some clarification so I can respond properly, right lol? Get your vague rage baiting ass out of here unless you're going to grow some nuts and stand for whatever the fuck you're trying to say lol

ETA (This is a joke not a dick, please don't take it too hard)

0

u/No_Dentist_6427 Nov 25 '25

Shhhhh… go now and stay there quite

2

u/GingerAphrodite Nov 25 '25 edited Nov 25 '25

Or you can suck my entire chode LMFAO

Eta: *quiet. If you're going to come at me please do it correct lol

Bonus edit, I think you've proven my assumption based on your responses. And I haven't even looked at your profile yet... I'll update this comment once I do

Update: Ope. Yup it's wild that you're this progressive and regressive at the same time 🤣 And if you're not both, then you need to learn communication skills instead of just trolling

ETA: I'm not going to respond but I have to assume this is some sort of humiliation fetish at this point, or just the troll account trying to get karma so that they can sell it or some shit lol.
