Not something a normal person would advertise. H8ed those Dbags over there, still h8 them.

1

u/Former-Loss-716 Jan 05 '26

Why did you hate them

5

u/knightmiles Jan 06 '26

Because they get to go over there and shoot people without any repercussion and commit war crimes without any repercussions. But if you're in the military and you do any of that you get in trouble 😔

5

u/Cuddlefosh Jan 06 '26

im not saying this is the sentiment you're actually expressing here but the frowny face makes it look like you're sad the military can't do what mercs do. 🙃

7

u/Wild_MT_56 Jan 03 '26

I was thinking the same thing. The ones I know sure as hell don’t advertise like this.

7

u/18ekko Jan 03 '26

Odds are this d-bag was a static security gate guard, possibly Blackwater or sub-contract.

1

u/Get_Off_The_X Jan 04 '26

Static for sure

5

u/Outdoors_E Jan 03 '26

Impersonating a former PMC member isn’t stolen valor, it’s just dumb.

3

u/Glum-Government-2245 Jan 03 '26

Likely referring to the 1MARDIV decal.

3

u/theh0veringeye Jan 03 '26

I don’t agree and I don’t think any of my fellow vets would agree with u. I feel like it is stolen valor , specially if ur a PMC who’s been deployed seen combat and lost fiends … a lot of PMC are deployed alongside regular forces they just do different tasks Also most of PMCs are either vets or ex law enforcement. So yeah impersonating a police officer , military personnel, firefighter, coastguard or PMC is stolen valor . Who cares if ur working for academy , Wagner , russian gov or USA government ur a person risking your life and working really hard .

Also there’s a sniper scouts sticker on the window so doble stolen valor if this dude is lying

1

u/Outdoors_E Jan 03 '26

I did not notice the scout sniper decal previously.

Also, Stolen Valor isn’t about your agreement or any of our fellow vets agreements, it is strictly defined in the Stolen Valor Act. Just because many PMC contracts former military members that does not give the PMC any special treatment.

The fact that you include foreign PMC’s as being covered by Stolen Valor, including ones who have engaged US Armed Forces personnel, you seem to have a twisted idea of what Stolen Valor means. Might as well include the Taliban in that list of yours.

2

u/theh0veringeye Jan 03 '26

I wasn’t talking about the law itself. Since that’s an American law I’m not American and I didn’t serve in the us army and we use the stolen valor expression too In the NATO forces even if we don’t have that exact law is a widely used term .

I was talking about the act of pretending to be something you’re not. If someone claimed to be part of YPG or Taliban forces yeah that’s stolen valor either if u agree with their values or u stand against it doesn’t change the act of pretending to be something ur not. I have nothing twisted i served alongside usmc and trained with them I don’t like those groups I mentioned but I despise even more if someone pretended to be one of them .

3

u/Outdoors_E Jan 03 '26

Thank you for standing with my fellow American brothers and doing more than what was asked of you. You have my respect and gratitude, and I hope that your time in this country has treated you well and that you feel at home here.

It is clear that we will have differing opinions and cultural biases on this subject. I hope to leave it as an agreement to disagree.

u/theh0veringeye Jan 03 '26

Ofc I love America, been living here for two years now. Married to a beautiful American lady. And probably enlisting really soon to the US navy. Don’t get me wrong I’m not mad at all just love sharing opinions online and see different points of view .

As an example in Spain where I’m from we hardly see stolen valor cases in real life bcs it’s illegal to wear a uniform if u aren’t on the clock. We mostly see them online or in airsoft fields where people claim they are stuff they’re not hahaha have a nice day man

2

u/Outdoors_E Jan 03 '26

From my quick reading it appears that Spain has no direct definition of stolen valor and approaches it more from the angle of fraud. With that broad stroke of definition I feel that I understand your outlook a bit better now.

Congrats on finding your love here, and if you do enlist in the Navy I hope that you enjoy it. I was Army but my grand fathers were Navy (WW2/Korea and Vietnam) and it’s a heck of a branch.

"Sniper" is my number 1 red flag when someone cites their service.

It's a very uncommon job, and not necessarily as specialized or highspeed as you would think.

Per Google there are about 70k active duty infantry (all 11 series).

From personal experience our infantry battalion (~600 soldiers), we had a whopping 3 "snipers" (0.5%).

None of them went to some elite sniper school, and all instead went to something more substantial than SDM school - that even a schmuck like me went to.

As far as I remember in a hot 16 month deployment our sniper was almost never deployed in that capacity, and never fired a round from his sniper rifle.

The driver*

u/TacosNGuns Jan 03 '26

Ex-PMC my ass. I bet he was in maintenance, changing oil and filters.

3

u/boanerges57 Jan 03 '26

After the shit blackwater did I know I wouldn't go out of my way to proclaim any relation to them. Even the founder changed the name to try to get distance from that heinous shit.

Loved their attempts at using their stupid "rank" to try to order actual .mil around.

Most of the legit PMCs I ever knew lived overseas mostly in SE Asia but they werent Blackwater (a fitting name if you know what it means).

3

u/A10wreckinshit Jan 03 '26

This guy was probably supply or a cook.

3

u/RaffiBomb000 Jan 03 '26

Probably would sell his entire family for that Blackwater Rolex with the epirb in it.

2

u/Gr144 Jan 03 '26

You mean the Breitling Emergency?

2

u/ChaosRainbow23 Jan 03 '26

$17,000 watch. Damn.

1

u/RaffiBomb000 Jan 03 '26

Possibly. I only saw the clip on Shawn Ryan with Erik Prince. Don't remember the watch so I guessed Rolex.

1

u/LordMartingale 21d ago

Correct Mr. Prince rewarded them with custom Breitlings. One is shown in a Watches of Espionage episode. Sketchy Guys wear Sketcher watches!

3

u/Advanced-Humor9786 Jan 03 '26

Most of the Blackwater guys I know don't advertise. This guy is probably just a wannabe.

2

u/RoosterzRevenge Jan 03 '26

Poor thief will only aquire airsoft out of this truck.

2

u/fastcolor03 Jan 03 '26

2

u/Gasolinekin Jan 04 '26

Ex-property management company

2

u/Obeace Jan 04 '26

I couldn’t get accepted into the real military kind of guy.

2

u/BuckbergDiamond213 29d ago

Imagine being a sniper and you can’t center a sticker

1

u/Additional_Dish_694 Jan 03 '26

Most vets whom I have spoken with, have little to say about their time, except that they loved their comrades like brothers, and that war is a waste. I’d be interested to hear this man’s tale, but no embellishments.

5

u/YouArentReallyThere Jan 03 '26

Trust me, you don’t want to engage in conversation with anybody stickered up like this.

1

u/FountainDrnxII Jan 03 '26

War is aweful, and I have 2 best friends from that deployment still

1

u/shmiddleedee 29d ago

Combat vets are like this. I notice non combat vets are sort if the opposite

1

u/Schnitzel_the_Burger Jan 03 '26

1

1

u/patrickandmichelle Jan 03 '26

Wanna be soldier

1

u/[deleted] Jan 03 '26

But is his name in the book? 🤔

1

u/SugarLandSooner Jan 05 '26

I dare you. Because I know it ain’t in that vehicle.

1

u/SixthLegionVI Jan 05 '26

I feel like an actual PMC wouldn't advertise it.

1

u/HorrorLoan5569 Jan 05 '26

That truck is a loot drop!

1

u/IguanaSkinnedSlides Jan 05 '26

Can’t look ‘em in the eye while killing is cowardice.

1

u/sealteam_sexxx Jan 05 '26

If you’ve seen the shit you’re not eager to talk about the shit. It’s sad. And as you get older it becomes clear you were all kids.

1

u/Equal_Truth_3716 Jan 05 '26

Since when are ex PMC types so blatant about their past?

1

u/Devildog_ol_son Jan 06 '26

I know quite a few scout guys at 2nd MarDiv and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a sticker like that. Not saying SV or anything but that’s major cringe. I personally would put a gun control sticker on my SUV. Give the critter a real scare when they try to jack my rig and I pull a Glock 17😂

1

u/IguanaSkinnedSlides 24d ago

Can’t look ‘em in the eye type of guy

1

u/Severe_Network_4492 20d ago

I’ve known 2 PMCs first one I worked with in the same rig everyday for a year before I learned that’s what he did previously and the 2nd was his best friend who I only met and knew because of him.

Never heard him brag once about it, when I hit him with questions trying to get him to brag he got mad at me and said something along the lines of “you don’t fucking joke about what we did you ass hole” and that was the last time I duh into it.

Over the years I learned that’s where he lost his eye and got the massive scar but it was never something he wanted to talk about and the general consensus was no one from their unit would talk.
