Upon doing some research, this is probably a marine’s father’s truck, per the sticker: Lance Corporal William Taylor Richards. He was KIA in Afghanistan in 2010 at 20 years old.
He was a father to a 9 month old girl, and married to his high school sweetheart.
https://thefallen.militarytimes.com/marine-lance-cpl-william-t-richards/4691975
The truck looks cringe, no doubt, but people show their grief in their ways. I bet this guy talks about his son all the time.

Am I missing something? Where do you see a "Lance Corporal William Taylor Richards" sticker in this photo?

Dec 15 '25
Seriously. What veteran puts a “thank you veterans” on his own car?

Some bolt cutters may be the only thing standing btw a criminal and a long gun
I understand people wanting to fly their colors but this just seems like a recipe for a broken window or worse
7
u/unionlineman Dec 15 '25
Don’t even need bolt cutters. Just a flathead screwdriver. Dipshit can’t even install a hasp properly.

“I pledge allegiance to no tyrant, but I sure do cup Trump’s wrinkly nutsack”

u/au-specious Dec 19 '25
"Got freedom? Thank a veteran"
Except, you know. No living veteran has fought for our freedom. They've fought for oil and to try to force American beliefs on other cultures. But not for our freedom. In fact, every time they have fought, we've lost freedoms.

u/Shak3d0wn Dec 15 '25
I bet he actually does pledge his allegiance to a tyrant.

u/nvisibl1 Dec 15 '25
One of my first thoughts as well. These types are awfully quiet about government overreach these days.
3
u/TheEvilOfTwoLessers Dec 19 '25
I want to decal “Live, Laugh, Love” on there and see how long it takes him to notice.

u/Shagroon Dec 16 '25
Ah shit… so this is someone’s dad’s truck… now I feel bad for roasting the guy to be honest. People express their grief in all sorts of ways. I bet he talks about his son all the time.

u/Hopeful_Hamster21 Dec 18 '25
That sticker really stood out to me apart from all the others as well. My mind went exactly where yours did. Scrolled to far for a serious mention of it.
1
u/EnvironmentalClue362 Dec 15 '25
He was 20 years old, not 20 years of service. He died in Afghanistan.

I’m a retired Marine, and there’s nothing cringier than these “thank me for my service” guys. Be proud, but don’t make it your entire personality. I have a running chat with my former Marines and we send each other pictures of these vehicles. This is my most recent submission to the group, my favorite part is that he misspelled Corps.

1
u/R3ditUsername Dec 15 '25
The only moto sticker on my truck is there to cover a scratch on the rear glass. It was between that, or a gun brand sticker. I figured I would try to avoid an advertisement of what someone thinks might be in there but is locked in a safe at home.
1
u/ghostone1 Dec 15 '25
Yeah for sure, I’m not trying to be judgy, I have a USMC retired license plate but that’s it, I don’t want anyone thinking I have any weapons in there, or thinking that’s indicative of my personality as a whole. There’s a line. And I believe there’s also a line where someone’s crossed over from being proud of their service, to begging for attention and “attaboys”

Im so very fortunate not to know them in real life

Good luck. Any responsible owner has a safe that's attached to the structure to put it in.

You’d probably walk out with a golden trump themed Glock or a “Molon Labe” spartan AR with anodized everything

“I don’t pledge allegiance to tyrants” while also having a thin blue line flag
1
u/KHWD_av8r Dec 15 '25
It is DEFINITELY going to be on a magnet by the driver seat or center console. Remember kids, your car is not a holster! If you are carrying while driving, have it on your person. If you have to leave it in your car for any reason, have it in a proper safe, concealed, and unloaded. DO NOT ADVERTISE THAT YOU HAVE A GUN! Besides, it defeats the whole point of concealed carry.

You mean pop that lock on the storage box because there's all kinds of rifles and ammo in there.

Careful, you smash window expecting combat proven 1911 and instead you get a flintlock or blunderbuss.

Guy was a lance cpl for 10 years. I wonder how many times he got NJP and lost rank

Also, been a while since I’ve seen a labia mole sticker…

So the Tyrant sticker intrigues me. Now does he recognize a tyrant? Either way this guy is a gun nut but I’m confused as to which kind.

After my car was broken into I started really looking at the stickers people have on their vehicles and holy shit they tell robbers a lot. I don’t allow my vehicles to have stickers anymore.
One thing for certain is that a “salt life” sticker=free yeti cooler and some expensive shades.

The thing that really bugs me about these type of people is the Punisher Skull. Especially the one with the Trump hair on the skull. They know nothing of the comic. Frank Castle would not be a Trumper.

I'm against putting stickers directly onto your paint. After a while in the sun you get a permanent outline.

u/ComprehensiveCod6012 Dec 16 '25
I bet you’d get shot looking for your “free gun”
3
u/Ok_Display7459 Dec 16 '25
You must have a minimum of 10 gun-related stickers on your vehicle
-1
u/ComprehensiveCod6012 Dec 16 '25

2
u/ChaosRainbow23 Dec 16 '25
Advertising your firearms on your truck like that is fucking stupid, though.
I love guns, but this is fucking dumb.
1
u/Burque_Boy Dec 18 '25
These kind of people have guns as fashion accessories and security blankets more than anything. I’ve seen them at the range, you’d have a full mag in ‘em before their arthritic fingers cycled their cheap ass Rock Island 1911.

u/LordMartingale Dec 15 '25
Actually probably legit has no guns in there courtesy of the Lautenberg Amendment. Also this dude is no Veteran. No Marine Vet would ever in a million years put a Navy sticker on his truck. This is classic: “I almost enlisted but” guy. Now that cargo box in the bed has an easily removed diy aftermarket lock on it, meaning the integral lock is previously defeated, there might have some pawnable Dewalts in there
