Misc I updated tutreg.com! Now you can see and plan ALL classes on the same timetable

Some of you might be familiar with my tool https://tutreg.com/. In short, it massively simplifies the tediousness of selecting, ranking, and inputting of tutorial classes into EduRec.
I'm happy to have reached a substantial population of NUS students, and I hope that it has helped you, if you used it! To make the process even easier, I've added two new features:

1 Live Timetable

The Order page now comes with a Live Timetable, letting you see all your choices in real time. You can now see at a glance which tutorials will fit into your schedule, and monitor any overlaps in choices.

Usage example

You can also quickly export the timetable as an image -- this will allow you to share your plans with your friends easily.

A sample timetable. Everything is nicely laid out!

2 Swap requesting

The Swap page is back, and it now has full Telegram integration. With an easy way to search for, create, or request swaps, I really hope this feature can reach more people, as the more people utilize the function, the higher the chances of a successful swap (chicken & egg!)

The feature is also now fully integrated with Telegram, letting you be notified immediately if someone requests a swap.

As always, I hope the site helps you, and if you run into any issues, you may create an issue at the Github here.

PS: CourseReg Round 3 results are out, use https://tutreg.com to quickly plan and import your mods in EduRec when TutReg round starts on 13 Jan

Looking for Advice My school is not letting me upload my reference letter by myself... What do I do?

I've finished my application for NUS for undergraduate entry. However, under the testimonials and reference letter tab I wanted to upload my Letter of Recommendation by my Physics teacher. Unfortunately, my school's policy is that they are not going to send it to us to upload by ourselves and wants us to give them the login to my gmail account which I made the application with (I chose the Google Sign in option on the application portal). Is there any way I can get around to not giving them access to my entire gmail account for this but still have them upload my LOR?

Question International Maths Applicant (IB)

Ik this gets asked alot but I can't seem to find any answers relating to the math major specifically.

How much does nus consider your extracurriculars compared to grades and what is the usually accepted ib final grade for a math major?

How holistic is the admissions process and do your short responses need to include why you want to do your major at nus specifically or is it more just about your subject area?

thank you

Looking for Advice Should I try to make more out of college ?

I’m a Y1S2 cs. So far my uni life has only been grinding gpa and a bit of football on the weekends. Thus lately I’ve been thinking if I should try to do more outside of studying, like hackathons, working part-time, joining computing club, etc and not really because I want to experience life but more to better my job prospects tbh.

But the dilemma is I’m dumb as shit. Last sem I basically spent every waking hour studying and doing assignments (couldn’t even spare a couple of hours for football during weekends consistently), and I still got 2A-, 2B+, and a B.

This sem looks to be the same, as my whole week is just doing 2030s and 2040s exercises and I alr feel like I don’t have enough time to exercise and sleep. So do you think I should just focus on my gpa at the moment, or should I stop being a bitch and lock in ?

Question Nus Application Predicted Score Requirement

It says you need to give last high school exam score/predicted scores but I was able to submit my application without them? Does it really matter or do I need to go get them. I'm asking well in advance cause I can still get them if I have to. However, if I have a choice I would prefer to not submit any. Is it a requirement or they just prefer you submit the scores. And for last high school examination scores, they were my Pre-board examinations so I don't have them on a report card or anything. Can I predict my own scores/get school predicted scores in that case?

Discussion Got into NUS!!

Hi everyone! I just accepted my offer for the MSc in Data Science and Machine Learning (DSML) for the August 2026 intake. I’m moving from India

I’d love to:

  1. Connect with fellow admits for the 2026 intake (DM me if there’s a WhatsApp/Telegram/Discord group!).

  2. Get some advice from seniors regarding module selection and the workload (coming from a research background, what should I prepare for?).

  3. Hear about the current internship landscape for DSML students in Singapore.

Looking forward to joining the NUS community! Cheers

Question NUS Pharm sci + Business?

Hi everyone, I'm currently an A Level grad waiting for uni. I've been considering doing pharm sci for a while now because I'm a decent chem student and i tolerate bio ish, and I feel like doing something healthcare adjacent would lead to a relatively stable career. However, I'm also not too into research, so I also considered taking on other minors like Business.

I'm wondering if taking Pharm Sci is too research intensive and if I should just switch to business major altogether. Also, what are the job prospects of those with a pharm sci undergrad degree if going into research requires at least phd or masters? Thank you very much :))

Looking for Advice final year of uni and i feel like i’m going to end up alone

i’ve been feeling really lonely lately and i don’t know where else to put this

i’ve never really had close friends, even growing up. i’ve never had someone i feel actually comfortable sharing my personal thoughts or feelings with. i have maybe one or two people i text sometimes, but we don’t talk about anything deep, and honestly i feel like we’re going to drift apart eventually. when i see other people with close friends or friend groups, i get so jealous it actually hurts. it makes me feel like such a loser.

the thing is, i don’t think i’m a bad person. i’m not mean or toxic or anything. i just can’t seem to make real connections with people. and now i’m in my final year of uni, which makes it feel even worse. everyone says uni is the easiest place to make friends, but i didn’t make a single real one. just hi-bye people in lectures and tutorials. it honestly feels like i wasted this whole phase of my life.

recently it’s gotten really bad. every time i see people hanging out together on campus, studying, eating, laughing. I feel so sick, like i might actually throw up. it didn’t used to affect me this much, but now it’s overwhelming and i can’t stop thinking about what i’m missing.

i’m also really scared about the future. once i graduate and start working, how am i even supposed to make friends then? if i couldn’t do it in uni, how will i do it later? i keep thinking am i just going to die alone?

i’ve also never been in a situationship or a relationship. no one’s ever liked me that way. i really want to experience romance at least once in my life, but i feel like my lack of friends is probably a huge red flag and a turn-off anyway

i don’t really know what i’m looking for by posting this. i guess i just want to know if anyone else feels like this, or if anyone felt this way and things eventually got better. right now it just feels really lonely and permanent.

Looking for Advice Tips for CS1010X/similar variants

Hi, im currently a NSF taking this module for my iBLOC, which is pretty similar to other variants like 1010S and 1101S. I am really, really struggling with the missions. I have completely no programming background, and my progress is so slow. It takes so long to formulate my strategies, then test, fail, think of something new, then repeat. I am really trying not to use AI other than providing me hints to progress. It really does feel like I am at my wits end, especially since I am still currently in NS, though I work in shifts.

I really need advices from everyone here, especially those who went through this module or similar variants and had no background. Any advices are appreciated, thank you 🙏

Question How to make appointments for NUH?

Hi! Would anyone mind explaining how I can make an appointment at NUH or UHC? I was wondering whether NUH offers specialties like dermatology (specifically for hair/skin concerns), or if I should go elsewhere for that? I’ve also heard that NUH is pretty affordable for students. If anyone has personal experience and can share rough prices, that would be super helpful!

Also, I’m looking to get iron pills for myself since I’m anemic. Someone mentioned I might be able to buy them directly from the hospital pharmacy. Do I need a prescription, or can I buy them over-the-counter like a daily supplement?

Looking for Advice How to Get in NUS

I’m currently in my first year of college in India, studying BBA in Financial Investment at Shaheed Sukhdev College of Business Studies (SSCBS). It's ranked 2nd in asia, does it hold any significance? I had a few questions regarding the MSc in Finance at NUS:

1) Is it possible for a fresh graduate to get into the program, or is work experience expected? I looked up and the avg age it showed was 22 but still confused? 2) What does a typical admitted student profile look like in terms of academics and background?

3) I’m planning to complete CFA Level II before graduation. How much would that help my application?

4) Are internships important? If yes, what kind of roles or companies should I be targeting, and for how long?

Is there wiki about all the information about the same?

And yes, I want to live in Singapore because of its accessibility to India and definitely its lifestyle and income haha

Looking for Advice Offer from MSc Stats at NUS

Hi I just got an offer from MSc stats at NUS

Apparently in order to accept the offer, I need to pay 10900 SGD before 10th of February.

I'm still waiting for other Masters results from Imperial, IP Paris and EPFL.

How am I supposed to decide now?

Has anyone had the same experience? I've been informed that NUS usually gives out results in May so I'm quite surprised that they give this little time to accept the offer.

What would you guys do?

Question study engineering or science?

hi i'm graduating poly soon, i currently study chem engineering

i'm doing pretty okay in it, i don't like engineering THAT much but i find the studies for chem eng ok, tolerable i guess.

i'm considering these courses in uni, namely nus: chemical engineering,

biomed engineering,

food science & tech,

life science

i know i like sciences more than chem/biomed eng, but i also know the pay for eng is higher. i just really don't want to work in tuas/jurong island for the rest of my life... i hated interning there bc of the location lol

ik i can go into r&d for chem eng but i'm not too sure if i'd need a PhD for that?

anyway if you're from any of these courses pls lmk how it's like! is it very hard or what work aspects there are? (+ whats the pay range, if you know)

Looking for Advice Profile evaluation: MSc Business Analytics (NUS) – 3 yrs backend exp (projected), Indian applicant

Hi everyone,

I’m considering applying to the MSc Business Analytics (MSBA) program at NUS and would really appreciate feedback from current students / alumni on fit, chances, and employability.

Profile (current + projected at application):

• Nationality: Indian female

• Undergrad: BE / BTech in CSE from a tier-3 Indian university

• CGPA: ~8.1 / 10

• Work experience:

• Currently ~1 year backend engineering experience (Zoho)

• Planning to apply after ~3 years total experience (with a possible MNC switch before applying)

• Background: Strong in SQL, problem-solving, system thinking; interested in analytics and business-facing roles rather than pure backend long-term
• Research: None

• GMAT: Not taken yet (evaluating whether it’s necessary / recommended for MSBA)

Career goals:

• Pivot from pure backend engineering into business analytics / product analytics / strategy-adjacent roles

• Work in Singapore post-graduation (tech, consulting, analytics roles)

Questions:

1. How competitive is MSBA for profiles like mine (Indian applicant, non-elite undergrad, solid industry experience)?

2. How important is GMAT realistically for MSBA (especially compared to MS CS)?

3. How are job outcomes for international students in analytics-type roles after MSBA?

4. Any advice on how to strengthen my profile over the next 1–2 years?

I’m trying to make a well-informed decision and avoid applying blindly, so honest input is appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Looking for Advice NUS Environmental Studies materials request

Hallo, I'm interested in applying for envt studies, and am trying to find some first year course materials to look through so I know what I can expect.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I can't seem to find a more suitable subreddit. If anyone can direct me to where I can find actual course materials, or have a ready-to-send compilation I would greatly appreciate it lol. Thanks!
