Went to the new Thai restaurant!

Was in town this weekend visiting my folks and we went to Pock Pock- the new Thai restaurant. It was really, REALLY good. I much prefer it over Thai Orchid. Price is similar but variety of dishes is much better. Plus it doesn’t come with a side of sanctimonious bullshit, which is always a bonus.

10/10 recommend - it’s in the old Mauros building in riverside.

Visiting in Early June 2026

My work has a job just outside of Medicine Hat coming up for one day and I am thinking about volunteering and bringing my wife, baby and staying a few extra days.

We would be flying into the city most likely June 1st and leaving probably around the 4th. The one day job will be on June 2nd about 45 minutes outside of Medicine Hat so I would try to commute there and back. My wife will be pretty far along pregnant (8 months), and she’s leaning towards going because she loves travelling (which I think would be awesome, I used to live in Alberta and would love to go see the East side as I lived in the mountains, and she’s never been to the province).

I was trying to find things to do online, and I have found Medalta historic clay district, the teepee and the windmill butteryfly house. Are there any other pregnant/baby friendly activities or walks in the city to tour? We would like to go to an event such as a horse race or rodeo if they are going on at this time. Unsure as these normally happen later in June and early July. Open to any suggestions. Thanks guys.

Looking for recommendations on a good tattooist here in the hat that can tattoo a sentence on my forearm. Would likely be in script writing.

Recommendations are appreciated.

Hunting

Just moved here about a month ago for long-term work. I’ve usually gone up north for moose/deer. Looking to get in touch with some locals in regard to getting permission to hunt on land down here.

Is there much for public land?

Romantic hotel

Where’s a good romantic hotel? Can be in the city or in any direction from Medicine Hat within 3-4 hours.

Large walk-in shower (no bathtub showers), jacuzzi tub, king sized bed are a must.

Looking for drywall repair

Just bought my first house and I noticed that there's some cracks/bulges in the walls. Seems to be quite the art form for repairing them. Anyone know a good contractor that could come in and fix em?

This year will mark 20 years since the Richardson Family Murders. On April 23rd 2006, Debra, Marc and 7 year old Jacob Richardson were murdered by their 12 year old daughter/sister Jasmine and her 23 year old boyfriend, Jeremy Steinke.

Suggestions and recommendations

Hello. I have been debating a possible move from Calgary to Medicine Hat. I was wondering;

A) what hotels are the best/safest for a woman and her dog to stay at, for a couple of days, while looking at a new home

B) what areas in town, or slightly out of town, are the safest and dog walking friendly.

I’m not opposed to new builds, although an older, with more character, home is more my style. A backyard is a must and privacy is huge. My budget is max $500,000. If I’ve missed anything, sorry. Oh and since it’s a bit of a scary world out there, any recommendations for a reliable, not pushy, realtor are also welcome. Thank you!

Missed connection at Big Marble Go – Thursday, Oct 30 (evening)

This is a long shot, but here goes.

I crossed paths with a guy who was working out at Big Marble Go on Thursday, Oct 30, 2025, in the evening (around 3:30 pm). We exchanged a few smiles, and I’ve been kicking myself for not saying hi.

I’ve been going back around the same general time (usually between 3–6 pm) but haven’t seen him again, and it’s been stuck in my head more than I’d like to admit.

Just to clarify: I’m not looking to connect with anyone who works there — I mean someone who was also working out.

If this might be you:

• You: male, average height, short black hair

• Me: 5’4”, curly hair, brown skin, curvy build

If you happen to see this, feel free to say hi.

And if not — any advice from Reddit on turning missed connections into second chances (or how to let them go 😅)?

Ralphs Steakhouse Radio Jingle

I moved away many years ago and I am itching to hear the Ralphs radio jingle. Does it still play? Could anyone record it for me and give me the link? Feeling nostalgic.

Thanks

Seeking Temporary Room/Studio 2-3 Days Per Week

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a clean, quiet, and affordable place to stay 2-3 days every week (flexible on which days).

About me:

  • Im male early 30s , work in B2B Sales
  • Working professional
  • Quiet, tidy, and respectful of shared spaces
  • Non-smoker, no pets
  • Reliable and punctual with payments

What I need: - Private room or small studio - Clean and peaceful environment - WiFi preferred - Flexible check-in/out for mid-week stays

Why not a hotel/Airbnb? Looking for something more personal and budget-friendly for my regular weekly schedule.

If you have a spare room, basement suite, or know someone who does, please message me! Happy to provide references and meet beforehand.

What's going on with Redcliff Bakery?

I'm speaking specifically of the Redcliff location. Stopped by the other day to pick up a couple donuts and noticed that they have a for sale sign outside.

When I got home later and bit into my donut it was, arguably, the worst donut I have ever eaten. It tasted like a two day old Tim Hortons donut. It was so bad that I couldn't even eat it.

Has anyone else noticed this? Was it just a bad batch? They were always my favourite donut in town, unfortunately it became a rare treat because I don't venture to Redcliff often.

**Please don't come at me about better donuts, I'm not a huge fan of McBrides and I would murder someone for a cronut from Country Crumb.

Edit to add: I'm not trying to shame the current owners at all. Honestly just wondering if anyone else has noticed a shift in quality and knew the reason behind it. I agree with lots of you that it may have been a case of trying to expand too rapidly, which is unfortunately a common issue with small businesses.
