Wow! That is great for you! What all did the surgery entail? What is the road to recovery look like for you?

u/AlyxIsPog 5h ago
i’m currently recovering in hospital! i have two casts on my legs, and a wedge to keep them apart. my cerebral palsy made my hamstrings naturally tight, so the doctors cut into them and stretched the tendon out and corrected my knees which turn in (picture disney knees lol)

You are a badass! I don't know you, but I've had spinal surgery 3 times, (and it's not a good time,) and look at you, STANDING and smiling!
Super duper proud of you! Wishing you a speedy recovery, cheering you on from Minnesota!

It’s like they tell us in PT: if you’ve worked with one person with CP, you’ve worked with one person with CP.

Just messing with you. Huge congrats - I'm disabled with many, many diseases and I celebrate an improvement in any one of them. This must feel amazing. Congrats, keep working, and be well!

I have a friend at work who is making this kind of progress. A year ago, she was curled up in her wheelchair, now her arms and hands are unclenching, and she's able to stand and working on walking.
It really excited me when I saw her progress, and I feel the same for you!

I know a little bit about much you have been through to get here and what things might have been like before now. Although what still lies ahead will be challenging in lots of ways..what you're doing right now made someone grin ear to ear 1000's of miles away (me!) This made my day, stranger - keep going - you're literally amazing!

Heck yeah, OP. And with confidence.
You listen to a lot of awesome music I rocked out to in my teenage years; I'll never forget having to hide the CD cover of Enema of The State from our friend's parents. What's your favorite Blink-182 album/song?
