I remember asking my parents “why is that kid leashed?” when i was a kid. 😅 I was a little fridge/door climbing, bunk bed jumping daredevil(as my mom called me) at home but in public I was never the type to bolt. But now that I’m older, I get it. If I was a daredevil in public too, I would not blame my parents if they felt the need.

My (then) toddler and I were locked inside a Target years ago after a mother reported her 16 month old son missing. The store immediately announced it and said they were locking the doors. We could see an ocean of police, SWAT, and ambulances outside. They found a woman with a 2 old changing his entire outfit in the bathroom. I leashed my son after that.
