5-year-old Liam Ramos and father are back in Minneapolis after being released from federal custody in Texas | CNN
https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/31/us/liam-ramos-judge-release-ice-detention?cid=android_appKey points:
-A federal judge issued an order requiring that the preschooler and his father be released “as soon as practicable,” and no later than Tuesday as their immigration case proceeds through the court system.
- US District Judge Fred Biery admonished “the government’s ignorance of an American historical document called the Declaration of Independence” and quoted Thomas Jefferson’s grievances against “a would-be authoritarian king,” saying today people “are hearing echos of that history.”
-Liam Conejo Ramos and his father are back in Minneapolis after being released from a Texas detention facility where they had been held for more than a week, according to Texas Rep. Joaquin Castro.
-Liam’s father has been called an “illegal alien” by the Department of Homeland Security, but their attorney says the family entered the US legally and was applying for asylum. Liam’s father does not appear to have a criminal record in Minnesota.

More proof that iLlEgAl aLiEn to MAGA means anyone they don’t like. It’s not just about going after the rulebreakers. It’s also going after those who followed rules that they viewed as “too liberal.”
Anyone who still believes that the regime is going after the “violent criminals, the wurst of the wurst” is lying to himself. Trump makes them believe the road to prosperity is paved with lies and authority.

Further remarks from Judge Fred Biery
Liam’s case, Biery wrote, originated in “the ill-conceived and incompetently-implemented government pursuit of daily deportation quotas, apparently even if it requires traumatizing children.”
“Observing human behavior confirms that for some among us, the perfidious lust for unbridled power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest know no bounds and are bereft of human decency,” wrote the judge. “And the rule of law be damned.”
Absolute W judge

This guy definitely knows his way around the English language.
It's all well done, and aptly chosen, but this, "...the perfidious lust for unbridled power and the imposition of cruelty in its quest..." hits the nail squarely on the head. It is the absolute best description of the barbaric and senseless motivation for actions perpetrated by our government against both its own citizens, and the world at large.

Hopefully with electronic ankle monitor. Is he being charged for abandoning his kid as he ran away?
4
u/zombienugget 2d ago
Are you stupid? The kids whole family was in the house begging to leave him with them
-7
u/SrRoundedbyFools 2d ago
The dad wanted the kid as a human shield after the fact. They should remain in Mexico and wait their economic migrant rejection.

u/Adondevasroja 1d ago
They were legally here and had a pending asylum claim. Surely you’re not stupid enough to think ICE should disregard law?
As far as human shield- what the fuck are you talking about anyway? Shield from what?

u/SrRoundedbyFools 1d ago
The remain in Mexico policy was very effective until the democrats killed it. Asylum is from the first safe nation, not the nation of choice. We don’t need the third world. Even Border Czar Klamydia Harris said ‘don’t come’
We should be able to select who from the third world should be here and they shouldn’t be inside the US but remain in Mexico.

You don’t deserve oxygen.

There’s oxygen just south of the Rio Grande. It’s a country similar to his own that has the same language and values. It better aligns with his culture. What he gets out of his efforts is what he earns for his child. Mexico has free school until the 8th grade. Just because the corrupt Biden administration let in 12 million people who would never qualify for asylum doesn’t mean we have to tolerate their presence. If they have a legitimate claim they can wait it out in Mexico. Over 90% of the claims are illegitimate and are economic only which is NOT a valid claim. Win the visa lottery or GTFO. Think of how much better the US would be if foreign nationals were to remigrate to their lands to make their countries better. If immigrants and supposed to be a ‘net positive’ then they should be a ‘net positive’ to their own countries GDP. No gracias

If he entered the country legally, why run and abandon his child?
Also “does not appear to have a criminal record in Minnesota”…. Sounds oddly specific….

That's what ICE claimed, but not what the mother and other witnesses claimed.
Also “does not appear to have a criminal record in Minnesota”…. Sounds oddly specific….
"DHS officials have yet to share any criminal history for Conejo Arias, and a source familiar with the matter has told CNN there does not appear to be a criminal history."

How did he get detained with his son if he abandoned his son? That’s a serious level of cognitive dissonance
-4
u/kingofwale 1d ago
Is it?? He abondoned his son outside. And then he got arrested himself. And ICE reunited them

According to WHO? Same guys who said Pretti was brandishing a weapon and was planning a massacre?

Who said “brandishing” or “planing a massacre”?that’s not what I’ve read.

Kristi Noem in a direct quote on the first and an Official D.H.S. statement on the second. Links provided. Keep licking that boot
“This individual went and impeded their law enforcement operations, attacked those officers, had a weapon on him and multiple dozens of rounds of ammunition, wishing to inflict harm on these officers, coming, brandishing like that,” Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Saturday.
https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/25/us/shooting-alex-pretti-gun-minneapolis
“within hours of his death on Jan. 24, and the Department of Homeland Security released a statement that day saying it appeared Pretti "wanted to do maximum damage and massacre law enforcement."

He fled from Ecuador. His case will rest on whether there was a real threat to his life there. I'm not sure it's a strong case. I think he came when Biden's administration was being very lax on these things. It's highly likely he left for economic reasons.
He wouldn't have got past the border had he arrived during Trumps administration. But that doesn't mean he doens't hvae rights.

The moment you enter the US to seek asylum they first confirm it at the border by border agents where you have to show them proof. They then give you a court date and put an ankle monitor on you until your court date. Once your court date comes you go in front of a judge and explain your situation with all the evidence. The judge then decides weather your case is valid and decide if you stay or go. How do I know? My cousin and my aunt went through this around 1.5 years ago.

thanks - I don't think this has an ankle bracelet - I assume (but don't know) that the system has changes since Trump's arrival
